Hi Susan! Could you provide me with more information as to the room you stayed in? All photos are accurate and we have never had any complaints that they were misleading. Also, the entire inn is air conditioned and guests are advised upon check in to let me know if it is not comfortable.

The Bruce House Inn is in a fantastic setting - up on a hill and a five minute walk from downtown restaurants. We stayed in the Library - which is quite large and has its own sitting room. The bedroom is beautiful, with intricate wood paneling. The sitting room I would describe as a little quirky, but a nice place...

My husband and I traveled to Cumberland to take in a scenic train ride this past Valentine's Day weekend (2016) and stayed at the Bruce House. Our room was the Crow's Nest. The weather for the weekend was bitter cold but, you would not have known it in the quaint home. Our room was warm, well appointed and comfortably furnished....

What a great place to stay! Excellent location; excellent rooms and overall presentation; excellent breakfast; and wonderful owners and hosts. Came for one night by chance and last minute, and decided to stay for a second night and spend New Year's Eve in Cumberland, MD. Would come back anytime. Thanks for a wonderful time!

The Bruce House Inn is comfy and cozy. It's worn charm is homey and comfortable. A nice easy walk to downtown -it's close to Washington St, which is lined with lovely Victorian era homes. Worth a walk on both sides of the street. Easy to enjoy this B&B's small town setting. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful. Best to book in...

We stayed at the Bruce House Inn as a starting point for our bicycle trip on the Greater Allegheny Passage. We were amazed at what a terrific town Cumberland is! Well worth a visit! The Inn is located in a beautiful historic residential district a short walk from town. Bruce House was a wonderful choice. It was quiet with an...

Husband and I stayed here on our 26th anniversary, driving home from the east coast to Chicago. Cumberland is a really historic town that is hopefully on its way back up but for anyone driving through or biking through the Alleghany route, this is a wonderful place to stay for a night or two. Great breakfast, too!

We love Western Maryland and have passed through Cumberland hundreds of times but never spent a weekend there – our loss. We were rewarded this past weekend with the drive up Rt. 70 to Rt. 68 at the peak of fall colors. The past few years have been a disappointment for the foliage displays but we hit the mark on...

We stayed in the Monk's Room one night on our way to the Midwest. We needed a quiet place not too far from the highway where we could get an early start the next morning. This place was perfect. You have to be ready to climb stairs, but the room was large, well-decorated, clean, quiet, and comfortable. Lots of outlets...

We stayed in the Washington Room. It was very comfortable and fairly clean minus a few spider webs and dirty window sills. Blinds in the room aren't totally private but just don't walk around naked I guess. Shay was our hostess and was very cordial and friendly. Breakfast was just fine and very tasty with great coffee. An Italian restaurant...
