Stayed in the railroad room and it had everything you could want. A balcony, nice bathroom, comfy bed. They have a washer and dryer for you to use. Breakfast was good. The innkeepers were extremely helpful.

Came from new York to ride the rail trail and towpath. This was home base. A beautiful place to stay. Darlene and Bill are wonderful hosts, and man can Bill cook breakfast. We spent three nights here. This is one of the nicest B&B's we have stayed in. Loved talking with Darlene and Bill every afternoon. They made my wife...

The 1828 Trail Inn rates up there with the best B&Bs. Old, old house, nicely restored. Clean and comfortable. Breakfasts are superb and the innkeepers are great. Hancock isn't very big. It's claims to fame are the Maryland Rail Trail and the C&O Canal towpath. And one thing more - The 2824 Trail Inn.

We stayed at the 1828 Trail Inn in late June and had a fantastic stay! Bill and Darlene were wonderful hosts, making us feel comfortable. The room was very spacious with its own large bath attached. For bikers, laundry was easily accessible. Everything (room and common areas) was very clean. There was cheese and crackers and homemade cookies in the...

After a tiring day-long trek from Cumberland, my husband showed up tired and covered in mud. Bill helped us hose down (selves included) and stow our bikes securely in a clean, accessible shed. The Inn itself is lovingly decorated and well-appointed -- including a washer and dryer! Bill recommended a nice restaurant across the street, which was very welcome for...

My friends and I biked the Great Allegheny Passage and the C&O and the 1828 Trail Inn was by far our favorite B&B on our trip. Darlene and Bill are excellent hosts and extremely pleasant people. They have thought of everything for the cyclists, including washer and dryer (free) easy bike storage, a hose for cleaning off your bike, even...

This B & B is certainly one of the nicest on the trail and one of the best we have stayed at before. Great location, wonderfully furnished and gracious hosts, however, what makes this Inn exceptional are the proprietors - Bill & Darlene - - who go above and beyond and are just very good people. We unfortunately had an...

I recently enjoyed my second overnight stay in as many years at the 1828 Trail Inn in Hancock, MD.This impeccable cozy inn is located just one block from the trail. The delightful owners live on the premises and really have their act together in catering to touring cyclists. There is a washer and dryer on site for removing the Towpath...

We stayed at the Trail Inn enroute to DC on a bike trip. Rooms were clean and comfortable within this beautiful old house. We were welcomed by the scent of baked goods which turned out later to be homemade muffins. Bill and Darlene are very nice people and very accommodating providing a shed for our bikes and access to a...
