Stayed here one night en route from DC to Pittsburgh while riding the C&O Canal and GAP Trail. Very inexpensive, great fellow guests. You make your own breakfast, clean up after yourself, and if you're lucky like I was, get to eat whatever others before you have left in the fridge--like great chili and brownies. The place is immaculate. It's...

Stayed overnight while biking the C&O Canal. Very welcoming hostel. I've stayed at many HI hostels in Europe, this was my first hostel experience in the US. Sheets/towels were clean. Rooms were comfortable - despite being a very warm afternoon. There were only a few other guests staying. Shared bathroom was a bit old - you may want to bring...

I was on a 6-day unsupported bike trip from Washington DC to Pittsburgh; and Harpers Ferry was my first stop. The day I was biking was very hot; heat index at 117 degrees. I arrived at the hostel at 2 p.m.; and they don't check in until 5 p.m. However, they let me relax on the porch and drink water,...

We came here for the July 4th weekend and opted to camp in tent. The place had everything we need including clean bathrooms and shower. They even had a great barbecue dinner and breakfast. The people working there are very friendly and helpful. Cant ask for more!

Loretta is a great host, and the Civil War dinner on Saturday was one of the best meals I've eaten in a while! Mmmmm! We came here for Columbus day and hiked Maryland Heights and Loudoun Heights along with walking around the sites. Here's a little tip.. if you are coming in on the train, you can cross the bridge...

Thru hiker Spark here: One of the nicest and most generous women I've ever meet runs this hostel with a fine tooth comb making sure your stay is totally ultimate. I opted to tent and get breakfast for two nights and denied a shower till the owner threw in dinner and ice cream! A full course meal at that! It's...

I recently stayed here for a girls' trip. We were going tubing the next day at Harper's Ferry and needed accommodations for a larger group. I found this place and I am so glad I did. The woman who works there went out of her way to make us for comfortable and accommodate us. She had a huge feast prepared...

There was something magical about this hostel that I can't quite put my finger on. The primary staff member (lady) was really friendly, everything was very clean, wifi was good, but also - and it appealed to me - you can basically go to this hostel without any food and leave crazily overstuffed! I stayed here for two nights, one...
