Holiday Inn & Suites Ocean City, an IHG hotel, often receives praise for its inviting atmosphere, enhanced by cleanliness and festive decorations. The hotel's location is a hit with guests thanks to its proximity to the beach and boardwalk, despite the distance from certain attractions. Accommodations are appreciated for their spaciousness, full kitchens, and views, yet some guests have mentioned the décor feels a bit dated and have had issues with the climate control.
While the service generally earns compliments for the staff's friendliness, there are occasional reports of slow service. However, several travelers question the value, citing room quality and charges as concerns.

The Pros: Great Boardwalk location, spacious room, bed was amazing as well as balcony! The outside appearance from the boardwalk is beautiful and the views are amazing! The Cons: the indoor pool had algae on the walls- when I brought it to the attention of the hotel front staff I was told it was not actual algae but it has another name and was handed the GMs card who would be in on Tuesday, the day we were checking out. I have an inground pool and know all too well what the water should look like— I also have cancer and wouldn’t be taking that risk. I called the front desk for 2 days asking for our room to be serviced and tidied up— on day 3 we got a knock from house keeping and just took the towels at 5 PM after my husband had already showered and dried off with the last remaining hand towel we we’re on our way out to dinner. I bagged 3 days worth of dirty towels and garbage in our room that had not been emptied. The adult pool is very crowed and filled with small children, on our last day we had to leave after finally being able to find chairs because of an “accident” from a small child so the pool was closed so they could maintenance the issue. I would expect that from the beautiful children’s area, but not where couples are trying to swim and relax, which is impossible with kids jumping constantly. The hot tub is also GREEN and is located on the kids play area, you can easily spot this from your balcony while the pools are closed. If you do attempt to use it, you’ll find yourself with unattended small children. If you’re coming on a couples or an adults vacation, much to be desired. For the money, I’ve had much friendlier and better hospitality at the Grand 2 streets down, where they immediately will rectify any issues that arise during your stay.

Dear fmorenodetailing, Please accept our sincere apologies that your stay was not exceptional, as our guests are our highest priority. We truly appreciate the information you provided and are always interested in hearing from our valued guests. We understand your frustration with the cleanliness of our pool and understand that you contacted the health department. Please be assured guest safety and public area cleanliness is our priority and we always appreciate hearing guest concerns. The health department did come per your request on Monday, during your stay, and reported all three pools compliant and in good standing. We are grateful you gave our hotel a chance, as you sound well-traveled in the Ocean City area, and we are truly disappointed we did not meet your expectations that you have come to know and love from our town. We are also truly sorry for the oversight in housekeeping during your stay. For all the inconvenience you experienced during your stay, we have processed a refund of $277.50 on to your credit card (please allow 5-7 business days for the credit to reflect on your bank statement). Your input is valuable to us, and we are grateful for your patience with our teams response. We truly hope that we will be given another opportunity to host you in the future, and we would surely welcome the opportunity to regain your trust and show you hospitality that you deserve. Sincerely, Natalie Vallieres General Manager

We spent 3 nights here with our 8 year old granddaughter and we all had a great time. Stayed in a corner room suite (#620), really spacious, quiet room with very comfortable beds. Nice size balcony with great views of the ocean. Biggest thing we liked was there were no chemical smells in the room caused by cleaning supplies. Friendly staff when checking in and out. The only negative thing we did not like was the indoor swimming pool was in the restaurant which had a strong smell of chlorine (ask to eat in the private dining room if you don't like the smell). We'll definitely stay here the next time we stay in Ocean City.

It was great to be able to close off our room from the kids for privacy, but there is only 1 thermostat and I pretty much froze out my kids because I like to sleep cold. Positives: Room comfort, cleanliness, able to close off to separate rooms, full kitchen, large balcony, location, elevators numerous and working fast, double sinks in the bathroom Negatives: Single thermostat doesn't allow for different sleeping temperatures in a room that can be closed off into 2 different areas, closing the kids pool so early in the day on hot August days makes no sense (I am sure it is a lifeguard issue) and the other pool is not available late either and doesn't have the hot tub (over at the kiddie pool instead), the adult meals that are part of the meal package are stupid small and limited items, high jacuzzi tub threshold makes it difficult for seniors to get into the shower. I don't need a handicap accessible room, but it was hard getting in and out of the shower. Wifi can't handle the load during peak hours

Ocean City is now our family’s new favorite vacation spot. This hotel is all around great and we are already planning our trip for next summer. Staff was very friendly and our suite was very clean. They try very hard to accommodate guests who want to check in a little early. We had our name put on a wait list along with a few other families checking in our around 1pm. The hotel called everyone as soon as their rooms were ready (we were then able to get into our room at 2:30pm. This was on a Monday). I would imagine that on a weekend an earlier check in wouldn’t be possible. The 2 pools were a huge hit with our kids. The kids pool has two small slides. There are various activities throughout the week as well (face painting, mermaids, etc). My daughter also got her hair wrapped by Ray’s hair-wraps. He is usually there for a few hours each day and he does a great job for a reasonable price. The deep end pool bar over by the main pool is great. I think it was open until 5pm most days. Plenty of choices for lunch, snacks, kids meals, alcoholic/frozen drinks and non alcoholic frozen drinks for the kids. There are waitresses walking back and forth to each pool taking orders which was really convenient. Yes, the kids pool does close at 6pm but there is an indoor pool that stays open later which was nice. The hotel provides each guest with a towel card during check in. Towels do go quickly and run out frequently throughout the day. They try to wash/restock as quickly as possible. Suggest bringing a few towels of your own for busy days. We ate breakfast at the hotel’s restaurant coral reef. The food was just ok, i dont think we would eat there again. Starbucks however is right next door which is another option for breakfast. Loved the location of the hotel right on the beach. It is also a quieter section of the boardwalk/away from the chaos which we were happy about.

The hotel is amazing! The rooms are so spacious and have a full size kitchen, complete with toaster, blender and full size fridge. We had a jacuzzi tub in out bathroom, which was so relaxing at the end of a long day. The only down side of the hotel is the outside pools closing early (6 PM). It does not disclose this anywhere online that I saw. Their reasoning is because they need life guards for the one with the waterpark, however it is not over 4 feet deep anywhere so I do not understand that. The indoor pool is attached to the inside bar and restaurant, so it seems odd to be swimming while people are eating and having cocktails. It is nice to have restaurants in the hotel so that you don't have to leave the property if you do not want to. It does state kids eat free with purchase of an adult entree, however that only applies if you eat in the restaurant. We took our food out to the pool area and were charged for kids meals. I found that to be very unfair since we were not even going off hotel property.

We have been visiting the HI for years, and love the spacious and clean rooms, friendly staff, and full kitchens. We like to come for Classic Car Weekend when we can sit on the balcony and watch the parade of cars on the boardwalk from the comfort of our room! One recent change we are all in favor of is the pump bottles in the bathrooms replacing the ubiquitous individual toiletries that used to be in every hotel room. Glad to see a more environmentally friendly solution. Looking forward to our next trip to OC!

My children and I just stayed at Holiday Inn and Suites in Ocean City, Maryland for the first time. We will definitely stay there again in the future. I requested a higher floor prior to leaving for our trip since we paid for oceanfront and we were put on the ninth floor. The view from the balcony was amazing, we spent a lot of time out there eating. The room was very clean and housekeeping refreshed it everyday, which I really appreciated. The location is convenient, beach, boardwalk, restaurants, you name it and it is steps away from the hotel. We did not use the pool or hotel restaurant, but both looked clean and nice. The staff was very friendly including the girl who checked us in, although I was tired from driving and cannot remember her name, she was amazing. The kitchen area really helped us save money on food, we didn't need to eat out as much. The only thing I would say is that a walk in shower would have been better for us. It had a rain shower head, but it was inside a huge jet tub, being only 43, I still had trouble stepping into it. Almost fell a couple of times. Not sure the hotel can do anything about it, but that is all I would change. Very comfortable beds and very quiet. Awesome hotel experience!

This is what you get for oceanfront when you spend thousands of dollars on Holiday Inn hotels throughout the year. Junk and no one willing to help you get a better room. Staying at Hilton from now on. Very disappointed. Not the least bit enjoyable. No privacy. Loudness from the pools etc.

We stayed here for my daughter's dance competition with many other families. It really is a great hotel for families. I've stayed at other hotels on the strip and this by far is the nicest, and cleanest we've stayed in. I had an ocean front room and every morning I enjoyed the sunrises. The hotel was very well kept. There were tons of guys cleaning the pool areas every morning. I had maid service also every day with new towels, they vacuumed and mopped, made the beds. I always came back to a clean room at the end of the day. Friendly staff. Parking was never a problem bc they have another lot across the street that you can park in as well. Great location for restaurants, a Starbucks right next door was also a plus. The CVS is also a few mins walk away or a very quick drive with a car. You have everything you need. It was a great hotel that I would definitely come back to next time we are in Ocean City.

I’ve stayed at this Holiday in before and it’s better than others we’ve stayed in several states and we typically stay high end. The location is on the boardwalk, the rooms overlook the ocean and service is great. This was our 3rd or 4th stay as a family of 5 and the rooms are perfect. They include a full kitchen with a full size fridge,, stove, microwave and keurig. We were pleasantly surprised they renovated the hotel, honestly no complaints from previous stays but they redid rooms with new tile, wall coverings and upgraded the kitchen and living spaces. All well done and made this even better. It’s not the cheapest place in oc but better than similar hotels like the Hyatt which was about 50 percent higher and not as nice so stay here, pay the fair price and relax and enjoy your stay. Also, they don’t Charge much for simple things which says a lot. You can use the laundry and no fee, it rained and we loved the dryer, sodas and waters in the vending machine is 50 cents. Kids meals are roughly 5.00 and include a drink and frozen dessert. All said and done it’s a great place and I highly recommend, great service, great location, and awesome rooms.

There are plenty of handicap parking in front of the doors into the hotel. For regular parking, not too bad. Minimal parking at the hotel, but extra parking right across the street.

I wouldn't stay on the lower levels due to the pool. We stayed above the 4th floor and had a great view. Clean and decent, but did not seem newly renovated.
There are more places to choose from in the Ocean City area.
