Great Place to spend a few days of relaxation. The boardwalk offers plenty to see and wonderful walks along the shore..Restaurants on the boardwalk offer a great variety of cuisine from fast food to take out to sit down faires.
We have been staying at the Grand for a few years & have always been pleased with our stay, it seems we keep adding more to our group & they all stay at The Grand as well, we always come down around the same time to watch the 1st Raven’s game
The Grand Hotel is a great bargain if you are young and vital and like to walk. If you are older and/or handicapped, not so much. It starts with your arrival. Finding a parking spot on the lot (in or out of season...and I have been there for both) is nigh on to impossible. Yes, there is a garage across the street, but it's a lot of walking and hauling. The hotel needs to be more cognizant of older folks who also like to vacation in OC. It should start with finding a spot to park the car in a convenient location (only about 10 handicapped spots for a hotel is not a plus!...There should be two or three rows of them. Also, in the rooms (which are spacious and well maintained), the bathroom need to have handicapped bars for folks to use to access the tub instead of a shower bar and prayer. During our stay, we had to emergency evacuation alarms, one at night and one in the a.m., where we had to vacate the hotel and not use the elevator. Seems like something needs to be done there as well. The staff is always friendly and accommodating, but one cannot frequent a place that is not safe, and in the instances mentioned above, it is not safe for the elderly or handicapped.…
The Grand Hotel is our go to place to stay at Ocean City. Located directly on the Boardwalk, the Grand is the premier vacation spot for us to stay. We stay in the oceanfront rooms when we visit because of the spectacular view of the ocean. My sunrise pictures are amazing! There are plenty of shops and eating places on the Lobby floor of the Grand which makes our stay even more interesting.
Our stay was really nice. Room was clean and comfortable. The pool area was nice with plenty of lounge chairs and a pool bar. The only complaint would be during breakfast at the Terrace Restaurant. They were understaffed and it was 20 minutes before a waitress even came to our table to take our drink and food order. Then 30 minutes before anyone came back. We should have walked out but were starving. The staff was pleasant though. Just took WAY TOO LONG for service.
