Great weekend getaway in a perfect location. We loved sitting on the porch with cocktails and enjoying the ocean view. There are many restaurants and bars within walking distance. Once you park, you don't need to get in the car again! Cant wait to go back!
I've stayed at Harrison Hall three times now and enjoyed it very much. This hotel has character. It feels old fashioned but has all the amenities you could ask for. My friend loves to sit on the front porch in a rocking chair overlooking the ocean. And I love swimming in the ocean. The boardwalk is right out the front door. It's so convenient. And the restaurant downstairs the DaVinci has great Italian food. I highly recommend it.
My wife and I took the opportunity to visit Harrison Hall for our anniversary. Given COVID restrictions this year, our options were somewhat limited and we needed to stay relatively close to home. I asked my wife where she wanted to stay in Ocean City and she said she always wanted to stay at the "place with all the rocking chairs on the porch." Done deal. Many reviewers lament on how small and dated the rooms are. Let's be honest about a few things here. First, if you're planning on staying in your room the whole time you're in Ocean City...you're doing it wrong. Second, the building is a century old...as are most of the buildings that make Ocean City what it is. The rooms ARE small...no getting around that, but they are adequate. A reasonably comfortable bed with a beautiful view of the beach and obligatory sunrise. In the case of rain/bad weather there is a modern TV with the typical hotel channels available and the ability to hook in a game system or other device if necessary. The bathrooms are small...but they have everything you need. We found the location to be perfect for us in relation to the rest of the boardwalk. It's toward the north end where it's a little calmer but doesn't feel remote. There are plenty of places to visit and eat within the nearest 2 blocks or so. It was not an unreasonable walk to get to the south end of the boardwalk where the most famous attractions are. We spent most of our time walking up and down the boardwalk and when at the hotel, we were often on the porch watching the happenings and the beach. Upon arrival, the staff was very friendly and helpful. Once we checked into our room, we noticed that some bonehead before us had set the A/C to it's lowest temperature setting which is detrimental to an A/C system on the beach. The lines were iced over and the air vent was frozen closed so essentially no air was getting into the room. On our way out to dinner, I stopped by the front desk to inform them and they said someone would fix it right away. When we returned a while later, you couldn't tell anyone had been in the room except for the fact that the A/C was again working as it should. The hotel pool and poolside bar was a nice addition. Bartenders were very friendly and efficient. Live music was perfect for the pool area in both volume and style. Overall, we greatly enjoyed our stay and will certainly consider returning here in the future.…
The location to the beach and boardwalk is great, and the huge swimming pool is awesome with the outside bar and live music when they have it. The people working there are very friendly and always helpful when you need them. It is also very relaxing to sit on the porch at night and just hang out. The rooms and décor are a little out of date but when you are only in your room to sleep it doesn't really matter much.
I enjoyed my stay. I especially liked the ocean front deck. It was large and offered a wonderful view of the ocean. The management was helpful in securing my room at an affordable price. I had a nice time.
