The La Quinta in OC had beautiful, clean rooms and very friendly staff! Tom, Jen, and Adele were wonderful! They had so much food for their complimentary breakfast which was delicious as well. Very very satisfied with my stay here! Would 100% recommend.
Stayed for a weekend with my husband and our 13 year old Labrador Retriever. We were in room 202 and had a slight ocean view from our balcony, which was a nice surprise. We selected this hotel because it was pet friendly. The fee was only $40, which is lower than other hotels we have stayed at in the past. The hotel was average, the bed was comfortable, location was good, free parking and free breakfast. It took some time to wait in line to get breakfast, but that is due to Covid-19. Few Cons: Our HVAC fan was very loud and could hear our neighbors playing music in the room next door. There were ants in our room. Walls were very dusty. Pros: Great for pet travel. There was a pet restroom area not far from the front door, which was great. The floors were laminate, which was also nice for pets. Our dog was comfortable and had a great weekend. There was a lot of luggage carts on hand for use, which is always helpful. Had a balcony with a slight ocean view. Hotel room had a small fridge and microwave. Would return if traveling with our dog and recommend to other pet owners.…
The hotel didn't have sanitizing stations throughout hotel nor did the room have anything to show it was sanitized for my stay. For being in a pandemic, other hotels in Virginia were on point with having sanitizer all over hotel, elevators having signs to ensure you followed protocol, rooms showing they were sanitized. This hotel did not have any of this.
We stayed for one night with our dogs as I love to visit OC in the off season and bring them. There seemed to be a fair amount of guests, most with four legged friends for the off season. It was very convenient and met our needs. I like that LQ is pet friendly but now under Wyndham seems to have started charging a small pet fee. Still, this is more reasonable than other hotel chains so for that, I will definitely come again in the future!
I usually don’t write reviews, but I just had to write one about this place. My husband, baby, dog, and I stayed at this hotel for an October weekend. It was the worst experience we ever had at a hotel. We decided to stay here because it was dog friendly, but what a mistake!! I know this is not a 5 star hotel, but there is no excuse for the condition this hotel is. We paid over $800.00 to stay for three nights, but I am sure we could have found a motel at a cheaper price and cleaner than this place. The hotel as a whole is very run down—the hallways rugs are old and dirty and the entrance and elevators are dirty and poorly maintained. However, the worst part was our hotel room. First of all, the room was not very well insulated because we could hear all the loud cars passing by even with our balcony door closed. We were on the 3rd floor!! It was very noisy!! Second, the hotel room was disgusting!!! You can see for yourself by looking at the attached pictures of the bathroom and bed headboard. The condition of this hotel room is unacceptable. First of all, the bathroom smelled like pee and the shower curtain and sink smelled like mildew and mold. There was mold growing under the tub handrails (picture attached). The drain was visibly clogged with hair and who knows what else (picture attached). The water would accumulate in the tub when we showered. Totally disgusting!! The toilet seat hinges were missing the caps and they were disgustingly dirty. I had to leave the seat up for our entire stay because I got so disgusted every time I saw them. Moving on to the bedroom, the floors did not seem like they had been mopped before our stay. The beds headboards had some type of disgusting splash on them (see attached pictures). And to top it all of, there were ants on our bed (picture attached) and the AC broke on our last day, so we either had to sleep in a hot room with no ac( which we did) or leave the balcony door open to let some breeze come in (on a stormy night) and try to sleep with the noise of the cars passing by on Coastal Highway. This was a total hellish nightmare. I would not pay a dime to stay in this place. This place gets one start from me because i can’t give it a lower rating. What a disgrace! …
