I love staying at this place. This year they couldn't have been better. I bought a cooler of crabs, and they helped me keep it cool til the next day. The young lady at the bar admitted she was new, but made up for it with her charm. The young fellow at breakfast hauled my crabs to the car. In...

We stayed the night in the Admiral Bottle cottage and it was really nicely laid out and comfortable, with a good mattress. Great uninterrupted view to the bay! The included breakfast was excellent and all the staff very friendly and helpful. Very pleasant short getaway. Would highly recommend.

We stayed at the Robert Morris Inn for one night and really enjoyed it. My husband and I were celebrating our 1 year anniversary and wanted to just get away for a day/night. We both love history and had never been to Oxford so it seemed like a good choice. The Inn is fantastic - clean, charming, maintains its historical...

What an opportunity to stay at a 300 year old property in such a beautiful settling. However, to enjoy your stay at the Robert Morris Inn you must be both a flexible and forgiving guest, because the property does show its age. It will neither be the cleanest property at which you have ever stayed nor the quietest. "Pristine" is...

Vacance2006 Thank you for choosing to stay in our Historic Inn, it is indeed rare to find such a building relatively unchanged save for some modern necessities. Many of those upgrades include our fire alarm system and we are not sure how you missed the permanently lit Fire exit signs. In a 1710 hallway they are pretty glaring and are...

My husband and I just spent two enjoyable nights at the Inn. All of the staff were friendly, helpful and professional. We stayed in room 10 which had a separate sitting room and bedroom. We enjoyed having our breakfast on the porch each morning. I had the blueberry pancakes which were the best pancakes I have ever tasted! We had...

Friendly staff...... A little too friendly. Housekeeper was vulgar and kept making passes at my husband... on our Honeymoon. She wasn't quiet about it, she may have been drunk. Made us very uncomfortable.

We millenials pulled the Robert Morris Inn off of the Internet without expecting much more than a quiet B&B. When we got here, we were greeted by the very welcoming and familial staff. The room is cozy and quiet (and not in the least bit modern, save for the AC), and the restaurant downstairs had a great complimentary breakfast for...

We have been wanting to visit this 1710 Inn and the town of Oxford. We booked a one night stay in Admiral room R17, the 3rd floor corner room with view of the water. The Inn is in a great location with clean and comfortable rooms, nice amenities, charming gourmet restaurant with outdoor seating that takes you back in history....

LuckyCL Delighted you managed to join us and that the experience lived up to expectation. This is the countries oldest Inn and you were staying in one of the original bedrooms of the then, River View House. A room little changed in over 300 years, with the exception of indoor plumbing. Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Once the home of Robert Morris who gained fame as "Financier of the Revolution". General and later President George Washington was a close friend and visited Robert Morris often. In more recent times author James Michener outlined his famous novel, Chesapeake here and fell in love with our renowned crab cakes. More history is located here. Now the Eastern Shore's most unique historic restaurant with rooms under celebrity Chef Proprietor, Mark Salter and Ian Fleming. Enter the Inn and step back 300 years: a pristine yet historic interior welcomes with timber beams, panelled walls and open fires in the cooler months. Through to Salter's Tavern featuring historic red brick walls and old slate floors, with magnificent fires in the cooler months and offering casual outside dining on our Terraces and Veranda during balmy warm summers. This is a truly historic Inn, cosy with a natural patina running through. Friendly, great cuisine and understated professional service. ... more   less
