In the interest of full disclosure, I did not personally stay at this hotel. My wife and her best friend/co worker did. However, I am the one who is in charge of their travel accommodations and I heard about it from my wife and/or saw via facetime. Check in: The clerk took a credit card to swipe it for deposit. Told her it was declined. She gave him a second card and it worked. The next day, I followed up w/ the bank in which the card was declined, and it in fact wasn’t. There were the pending authorizations w/ no issues whatsoever. Then over the next few hours there was a total of $4400 dollars worth of authorizations put on the second card. Not a huge deal as authorizations do not take the money out, but was strange. Not to mention, the fact that the first card wasn’t declined was, and he said it was also strange. My wife and her coworker are travel nurses and her coworker had brought a good amount of food to put in the mini fridge for the week. The mini fridges are in fact some sort of cooler, in which you have to push the button every 8 hours to keep it running. I guess this is some sort of efficient appliance. But come-on, a mini fridge doesn’t consume that much energy. However, the one in their room wasn’t working right. My wife complained (several times) to the front desk, he put in a “work order” but they never fixed it for the week. Her friend tossed the food. After the first night and day they had noticed there was no housekeeping done. Apparently due to Covid, they do not do daily housekeeping. (The hotel they stayed at last week did, but if that’s their policy so be it). When they asked about clean towels, the front desk said to put their towels on the floor in front of the door and housekeeping would replace them with new ones… on the floor. The front desk had told them he would request 2 cleanings during their stay and of course, and guaranteed at least one, but none of them happened. When facetime with my wife, she had described the room as a bit “dingy” and rundown. She showed me the lamp next to the bed and it was broken and ripped. Their last night, my wife and coworker did the laundry in the hotel, and there is only one washing machine and dryer, in which the dryer took three hours and ate her quarters. (The front desk did replace her quarters though) We have traveled a great deal over the years all over the US and the world. I pride myself on my research and subsequent choices I make for hotels while we travel. This hotel had such high marks, but fell in more way short of standards. My wife is in Salisbury for 13 weeks with many other travel nurses and national guardsmen for covid work. I implore any of her fellow travelers to look elsewhere for the next 13 weeks and beyond.…
Haven’t done much traveling but happy to see this Courtyard Marriott has all safety protocols in place to reassure guests. Staff was also super helpful in making reservation changes and with restaurant options. Would definitely come back to this location.
The frontdesk staff needs training. The GM Bakerand sales lady don't like black people and think that they can talk to you any kind of way. The room and hotel were clean housekeeping staff very helpful wouldn't go there again until they change the GM and sales lady.
So I stay at the Salisbury courtyard Marriott, on Jan 21 to 22, one night, so the morning fort desk clerk was very Rude and disrespectful to us, and need to go back to customer Service class, or stop, working at the fort desk, OUR RUDE EXPERIENCE was with (Paula Steffano) because of her I will never stay there again, she basically accused us of taking the gym key without someone giving It to us, and told us oh, don’t let it happen again, and bopping her head as she speak to us I think because we where black why she think she could speak to us in that manner, and it was ok, Marriott you people, need to do something about your fort desk desk staff, especially Paula Steffano.
I must say with Covid-19 this hotel is 100% on point!! We stayed for baseball tournament for 3 days. Very clean. FOLLOWING SAFTY PROCEDURES AND PRECAUTIONS FOR GUSET. ALL The Staff is Absolutely Amazing. PAULA from "customer service desk" is very professional and Kind.. Housekeeping Ladies are amazing. TIFFANY offered her help in anyway needed And the maintenance Guy is awesome and very informative. I give this place 100% credit for all the extra efforts they have made during thisbweek with covid-19. And would definitely recommend anyone to stay in this establishment. Thank you for a great weekend. We will be back!!
