The DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Boston North Shore has garnered appreciation for its spacious rooms, although the pool and other amenities have occasionally disappointed guests. The complimentary WiFi is a plus, yet many guests feel that the hotel doesn't offer good value for money, pointing to high service costs and feelings of being overcharged. Service quality seems inconsistent, with some staff members providing excellent hospitality while others fall short in communication and response to requests. Cleanliness is generally satisfactory, but some visitors have reported specific maintenance issues. Additionally, the atmosphere is often described as lackluster due to dated decor and upkeep concerns. Finally, the rooms have been criticized for insufficient cleanliness, noise levels, and maintenance problems.

Stayed here for $300 per night for a dance competition (1 night stay)--hotel is just really dirty to me. Halls are very hot and humid, and musty smelling. Ice machine on my floor was broken and had ceiling tiles on the floor that have obv been there for a LONG time. Just dirty. Room had fingerprints that were not wiped, yet it was taped with the "covid clean" tape? The waste baskets were all sticky/dirty due to the fact that they were just dumped and not wiped down. Just a blatant neglect of thorough cleaning. Not sure if they are just short on help or what, but it was just so disappointing for the amount of $$ I paid, Next year, if this dance company uses this facility, I will skip the event or stay elsewhere locally for much less $$ and cleaner facilities. The water park is closed also, so I'm not sure why the expensive rates. Mini Starbucks in the lobby had one person running it at 7:00 am when opening and she was quickly overwhelmed with the lines of people. I actually felt really bad for her. All in all, Id say it was a disappointment.

We did the tourist thing and went on a spur of the moment trip to Salem in late October. Most Salem hotels were booked or way too expensive. I'm so glad I found this hotel. Price was very reasonable for a doubletree and location was about 25 outside of downtown Salem and the drive was easy and felt even shorter. The hotel looks even better in person than it does online. Rooms are basic but enough. Beds were super comfy. No fridge in room but they held our perishables in the fridge downstairs. I try to be a bit more forgiving in the JB post covid Era so I only removed 1 star because our room wasn't cleaned at all during our stay and we were up and out early and not back until 3 or 4 pm. Shower was a bit old and crusty too but nothing crazy. Hotel grounds were beautiful. Overnight parking is an extra $7/night. Sara at the front desk was very friendly and helpful! They have warm cookies at the front desk... all you have to do is ask. Also, we left the pup at home but this hotel appears very dog friendly. They have biscuits out and a water bowl at all times. All in all, it was a great stay!

It was average at best, has some serious issues. Room was clean to sleep in and beds were comfortable. A big let down for Hilton branded hotel. No refrigerator, no map or info on hotel in the rooms, very limited staff. Luggage trolleys set in hallway from 6 pm to 9 pm when we left. We didn't use them but someone left up there in the way. If you need a quick place to stay in the area, a cheaper price elsewhere may be better for you !!!!

We booked a room block at the DoubleTree by Hilton Boston North Shore in Danvers, MA for our wedding. The original wedding date was January 2021, but with the pandemic worsening, we decided to move our wedding date up to October 2020 in order to have a smaller wedding outside. We worked with Courtney and she was excellent. Courtney was accommodating with the change in our plans and was happy to assist us. Many of our guests had already booked the hotel for January, so she was quick to reply to emails/calls and was super patient when managing the cancelations and rebooking of reservations for our guests.

The rooms were clean and upon arrival there were stickers on the door indicating they had been sanitized so you could enter the room confidently knowing it was cleaned. The front desk staff were welcoming and were happy to hand out welcome-baskets to our wedding guests staying at the hotel.

At Courtney's recommendation, I reserved the Executive Suite and it was extremely spacious. We were able to utilize the large table and living room area for hair/makeup for a couple of the bridal party members in a comfortable setting. She had glasses upon our arrival so we could do a toast for the wedding.

It was a wonderful experience and we would stay here again in the future!

First and foremost, I have never stayed in a hotel with more disorganization, and total disregard for its guests! We had to rebook rooms for 3 different parties 3 different times and were assured that it was settled each time. (First time was a few days before the stay, once the day before the stay and last on arriving to the hotel). It took several calls for 3 guest with issues from one of the wedding block guests who happened to be a "diamond club member" in order to straighten everything out!
Welcome bags not given to guests, Hotel quite worn and dirty. Stains and food in room hallways. Trash all over public restroom floor. The one good thing was the location and the breakfast buffet.. Would never recommend this hotel to anyone until they "get their act together", make some improvements and improve their cleaning. . Get your reservations in hard print thoroughly review confirmation emails.

REVIEW
If you don't have a problem with bedbugs, mold and dead bugs in refrigerator you found the right place. Also, a great place to be ignored by all levels of management. Called, sent emails with pics to corporate only to be ignored.

There was a bug inspection done in room which came back negative. I find this to be inaccurate or bugs were in the sheets/bedding taken from room placed in laundry cart and placed with other bedding.

When we woke up we immediately threw all sheets/linens out door on floor. I told manager (Andrew) to put them aside, they could be infested!! Two (2) minutes later the items were placed in a laundry cart with other bedding! Then we were told to wait in this same room until another was cleaned; really?? We waited patiently only to be ignored by manager.

We went in new room and requested a refrigerator that was loaded with mold and dead bugs! This was disgusting and unacceptable on many levels!

This place had one of the dirtiest bathrooms I've ever encountered in a hotel. If I were staying longer and wasn't with a toddler and infant, I would have put up a fuss and asked to move, but we had already dragged the bazillion things we had into the room. Anyway, there was NO WAY my kids were taking a bath in that tub. The bottom was so nasty, drain was nasty. The shower curtain was well worn. The toilet seat was loose. There were splatters of something all over the picture in the bathroom. The bath towels were also stored on the lowest shelf under the sink, right next to the toilet. No offense, but anyone who lives with men knows there's splatter sometimes. Just gross to think about. We packed up our bags and didn't stay the second night. Like I said, it was easier to just leave then switch rooms or deal with complaining, but I will NEVER stay here again, or recommend it to anyone... The rest of the room was ok, nothing special. We did opt for a room with 2 toddler beds, but I was also a little put off that the toddler beds were right next to the exit, and the adult beds were all the way on the other side of the bathroom. Regardless, I judge most hotels by the cleanliness, and the bathroom is most important in my opinion and yuck!

As a HH member I always stay at Hilton branded locations. However, this stay in February had an extra special flair to it.
I have never stayed at this Doubletree location in Danvers before but this overnight stay was for a surprise road trip and a visit to Coco Keys resort for my daughter's 6th birthday.

I want to personally vouch for and provide the highest customer service scores to the staff there as they made our daughter's birthday extra special. After check-in, I had walked over to Tradwinds, the hotel restaurant, and was warmly met by Billy, the Manager there. I casually mentioned we had a large party with us and we were looking for a table that evening because it was my daughter's birthday. He took it upon himself to personally take care of anything we needed that night for dinner and even added personal touches she might like. He arranged a beautiful cake with her name written and I couldn't have been happier for all the kind and thoughtful attention he gave to our group.

After a long day at the water park I had gone up to the front desk to get an extra key for the room. I was stopped on the walk back the group sales manager asked if I needed assistance in finding anything. I coyly asked if they had those "welcome" cookies I saw a sign up about in the lobby. Before I could even finish my sentence, while standing in the hallway, she had quickly ran to the front desk and brought me back the most amazing and still warm, chocolate chip cookie.

Billy, and the rest of the Hilton staff working at the Doubletree in Danvers this weekend provided me with top notch service! My daughter said it was the most "epic" birthday weekend ever. I just wanted to ensure my review recognized the team there for making our stay so very special. I know we'll be returning again in the near future.

Thank you so much!

My family and I were in town for a funeral and have at least 6 rooms in the hotel.

I checked in on July 21 and the following day I had breakfast in the restaurant with my father. Tanya served us and I ordered eggs. I asked her if they were complementary and she asked my room number and confirmed I was a Gold member and told me they were indeed complementary.

On my check out day, I received my bill via email and it showed a $30 charge for my breakfast. I went down to the front desk to inform them of the mistake and a diminutive fella named Troy told me that breakfast isn’t complementary and I get a $15 credit for each person on the room. I then asked why I didn’t get the credit and he said that I got it now and there’s no problem.

I told Troy that I was about to go have breakfast and needed to make sure I wouldn’t be incorrectly charged again. He said I would have to come back after 11:00 to be sure.

I ate breakfast came back to the front desk at 11:00am to get my final bill. Troy adjusted my bill and checked me out. I told him “traditionally, when there is a mistake on a bill there is an apology.” He snapped back that there was no mistake. I reminded him that I was incorrectly charged for breakfast and I had to catch it and correct it myself, thus there is nothing to apologize for. I asked for his name and told him I would speak to his manager. He simply laughed at me and said “go ahead”.

I returned to my family and he stormed past me and told me and my family that we would never stay there again. After this experience I wasn’t planning on it.

As walking out of the hotel with my family he chased after me and told me he was going to add parking to my stay. I informed him that I didn’t have a car and my family was picking me up. He charged back inside and charged me for 2 days of parking. I presume he thought he could punish me with a $14 fee.
