Faraway Martha's Vineyard Hotel captivates guests with its enchanting atmosphere, featuring a beautiful lobby and rooms praised for their comfort and tasteful decor. While the hotel's central location and cleanliness receive consistent acclaim, and the pool and fitness center are admired, the value proposition is questioned by many due to high costs and service concerns.
Although the staff is often commended for their attentiveness, the absence of in-room coffee service has been a notable drawback.

My girlfriend and I treated ourselves to a weekend stay at the Faraway MV over xmas in Edgartown weekend. So, for those who have not been to the Xmas weekend.....do yourself a favor, go!! If you want the "homeru" book the Faraway. Not only are they actively involved in the weekend festivities and supporting the charitable mission, they are right in the middle of all the action. Magical. I cannot wait to be back!!! Thanks to the staff and mgmt team for taking great care of us.

Thanks for the great review. This was our first year open as Faraway during Christmas in Edgartown and we were thrilled to participate in so much of the action. We hope to welcome you back next year for more holiday cheer!

We could not have chosen a better place to stay! The location was within walking distance of great restaurants and bike trails. The staff was pleasant and friendly and the pool was nice. It was obvious they were taking great precautions during the pandemic as well. Staff wore face masks, there was plenty of hand sanitizer, there was a plastic cover on the remote in the room, and many other steps being taken. Muffins and coffee were available upon request behind the front desk in the mornings. We rented one of their bikes too and it was great and comfortable. Thanks for a wonderful stay!

We stayed 2016 and 2017 with my family (myself, husband, and two teens) in one room and we came back and the location is perfect. What stands out about this inn is the attentiveness of the staff. From the minute we arrived, the staff were there when needed, opening doors, assisting with luggage, responding to our requests since 2016 although we were kind of disappointed that our favourite concierge doesn't work there anymore. We had a gift for her when we arrived the inn and expecting that they would hire her for a few years more. I believe her name is "Trisha or Trixie" half asian/ half Latina from Philippines very pretty young lady. She was very helpful to my family & friends because she speaks 5 languages I guess that's why she gets along with everybody. She's funny, polite and hardworking. We stayed 4 days and my two girls love her, even our friends who stayed there said she's a nice young lady who helped her daughter carried her luggage up to the third floor and she did housekeeping in their room at night. disappointed that she wasn't around this year after being an overall employee . sad we wouldn't able to see her jolly face.I would highly recommend the Kelley House and and as a matter of fact, we are looking forward to return next year.

My friend and I desperately needed some getaway time, and we hopped over to the vineyard for a night. Kelley House is in a great location, as we did not bring a car with us. We were able to check in early, (Ashley at the front desk was super sweet!). The front desk with the Adirondack chairs was such a treat. Only thing I would really mention is the bedding was pretty lackluster. But we had a good time! They do a great job adhering to Covid precautions, and there were even packets of alcohol wipes in the room upon arrival, which I think is pretty clever as a discerning hotel guest myself. Oh, and the muffins were tight. I should note, it was a Sunday night rate, so for what we paid it was very worth it! :)

This hotel is in an amazing location in Edgartown. Close to all the good restaurants and anything and everything happening in Edgartown. The only thing that sucked in this hotel was the housekeeping. It seemed the we were at the mercy of the housekeeping staff, who couldn't give a damn about their guest. We stayed for 6 nights, paid USD 16,000 and only got housekeeping service on only 3 days after calling the front desk multiple times . Even on the 3 days, they changed the linens only once, forgot to vacuum / clean the floors, forgot to give adequate bath amneties, towels, etc... it was such a mess

This hotel is located on a great area. The staff was very pleasant and attentive, as much as could be. Upon arrival, the lobby is decorated in a very modern fashion, looks nice and is very photographic… the room, too; however, at night the weather dropped into the 50s and having traveled from Los Angeles, my son and I were cold. We notified the front desk and they came and turned the heat on, but during our entire stay, no heat ever came out, so we were cold the entire time, unfortunately… this made everything else about our stay, somewhat unpleasant.
The salt water/ocean odor permeated the room so much, that even after spraying with the air freshener, which we kept during our stay because we were spraying frequent, the smell returned within a few minutes. My clothes that were in my suitcase and especially my pajamas, retained the odor, so I immediately washed and placed in the dry cleaners, everything from my suitcase, upon returning home.
I was so hoping that something was done to improve the smell, considering quite a few reviews indicated this problem, but I guess the surveys and complaints are going unread, unfortunately.
Also, at this price point, I would expect that there would be some type of refreshments available for guests in the lobby… lemonade, cookies, fruit… something. But there was nothing, not even a vending machine on the premise… the only thing provided by the hotel, was lemon water.
No special views, although my room supposedly was a garden view… I feel like this was false advertisement, as there was no garden… my view was the front lawn and the street.
I’m not sure, other than the hotel’s location, how they can continue justifying the price they charge, and I feel like I should be refunded half my rate per day, as the rates seem to be gauging and again are totally not justified.

Hi there, We apologize that this was the experience that you had while staying with us this is certainly not what we hope for our guests when they choose to stay with us. You ran into issues during your stay that should have been taken care of in an efficient way and unfortunately that was not the service we provided for you. We will be sure to pass your comments along to management so that these issues are addressed with the correct departments. Thank you for taking the time to send us your feedback.

Hotel is fine, could use some tlc here and there. We stayed in room 307 which is apparently known for a ghost named Helen. Had I known, I would have opted for a different room style. Walls make annoying noises, non ghost related, but still annoying. The hotel is very well situated near shops and restaurants. We're regulars of the Newes From America Pub and will always go there when on the island. Overall, not a bad stay but PLEASE provide hand soap or bar soap so that people don't need to use the shower gel for both showering and hand washing. Needing to go to Stop and Shop to purchase hand soap is silly.

I didn’t want to leave! Any time of year, KH is the best hotel to stay at on MV. They have unreal hospitality to their guests and make staying there such an unforgettable experience. They put a personal touch on everything and really try to make your stay as easy as possible. The concierge, Sarah, was the most helpful one we have ever interacted with. The access to a pub, market, and walking distance from everything in Edgartown made it such a seamless experience. We never had to worry about a car, ubers, or anything because of the location of this hotel. The rooms themselves were clean, well-kept, and the atmosphere was comfortable. Staff were consistently friendly and helpful. We can’t wait to come back and will never stay anywhere else on the island!

This place was accessible by Bus (30 minutes) to the Hotel. The staff was outstanding and the rooms were spacious and comfortable. The location was surrounded with great food options even though it was winter time during my visit and most of the restaurants are closed.

I don’t typically write a lot of reviews but wanted to say a few words about our recent stay at The Kelley House.
First, the location is spectacular. The historic 1742 structure, fresh and clean but brimming with character, sits in the heart of historic and charming Edgartown, literally steps from great shops and restaurants, and very close to Katama beach, the Edgartown lighthouse, the Chappaquiddick ferry, and many other scenic amenities.
When not exploring the island, it’s truly a treat to relax in the breeze in a comfortable chair on the front terrace, take a spin on one of the hotel’s complimentary bicycles, or enjoy a refreshing dip in the nicely appointed pool.
Perhaps most impressive is the outstanding service we received from Liv and the team at The Kelley House. The entire staff was friendly, thoughtful, and attentive, and went above and beyond to provide a memorable and pleasant experience. Upon our arrival on the morning of July 4th, the hotel was able to offer us early check-in, and subsequently also accommodated a small but important request that really enhanced our stay.
Finally, upon learning of a birthday, the hotel surprised us with complimentary champagne on ice and chocolates, discovered upon our return to the room. Wow. This considerate gesture, a glowing example of the hospitality afforded at Kelley House, really capped our evening!
Thank you Kelley House. We look forward to our next visit.

They do have free parking at the hotel. It is a great place! You will enjoy it!
I’m sorry I didn’t get back to you I hope you had a lovely stay. We stayed in the two bedroom suite, two floors with kitchen, living room, etc we enjoyed it very much.
After staying at the Kelley House over the New Year celebration I would ask them if they have updated there hot water issues as they ran out of hot water on the first day of our stay and then in the afternoon there was an issue with the heat not working. The rooms are dated but more importantly the necessaty to maintain their hot water & HVAC systems is basic human need. The location of this hotel is wonderful as you know but I would question the updating of the very system that provide basic need.
No, but there's a great little breakfast spot in walking distance.
