Dating back to the 1960’s, this heritage building which stands 35 metres high once contained grain in four large silos. Peppers Silo Hotel was forged from this iconic landmark and is now converted into a sophisticated 9 storey hotel providing a unique place to stay in Launceston. Designed within the original silos, the new North tower offers beautifully appointed hotel rooms all with modern amenities including complimentary Wifi, LCD TV with Chromecast & Foxtel channels, mini bar and guest ensuite. Taking in sweeping views over the meandering river, the Gorge River Rooms and Premier Suites boast private balconies where you can soak in Launceston’s natural ambience. Launceston is renowned for its high concentration of excellent gourmet food. The Grain of the Silos Restaurant showcases the best of Tasmania, delivering on its promise of paddock to plate. This hotel does not accept cash as a payment method. Credit, debit and prepaid cards are accepted to buy goods and services.

Peppers Silo Hotel's ingenious transformation from silos into a chic accommodation with expansive, stylish rooms offers guests a tranquil retreat, despite occasional noise disruptions. Nestled in a prime spot, the hotel boasts easy access to attractions and breathtaking views that guests can't stop praising. The attentive and professional service complements the spotless maintenance of the hotel. While the rooms impress with their modernity and comfort, some guests note discrepancies with noise and less-than-ideal views. Opinions on value for money vary, though the dining and parking facilities often receive compliments.

We had some issues with our booked room and the staff members went over and above to help us changing rooms. We very much appreciated this gesture and support. Thank you very much. We got a wonderful room with a view. The restaurant is a 5* experience you cannot miss!

Booked a Tamar River suite. Views were to JB Hi-Fi, Hammerbarn and the industrial area. Our room was next to the switch room and was noisy. Internet was poor and was cut off so we could not use on the morning of departure. Location is a good walking distance from anywhere (apart from above mentioned stores). Only able to get something to eat at nite from restaurant as bar has poor range of ‘snacks’. Restaurant was booked out n one night during our stay. Food at restaurant was excellent although pricey.

Our travel agent booked us a deluxe river view room in the silo. We did have a nice river view and no room next to us. We could hear the tv from the below room and every word which was said ! Couldn’t believe how there was no sound proofing in the room, we have never experienced anything like that before in a so called 5 star hotel. There was hardly any toilet paper in the shower room and no spare roll. There was no real coffee in the room only instant coffee even though there was a cafeteria. What’s that all about ?? We will certainly be giving our travel agents feed back about this hotel and really don’t think it deserves its rating

Dear C6702CVpaulab, Our sincere apologies your stay did not meet the high standard we set ourselves. Whilst all rooms have additional amenties stored in the cupboard beneath the sink and plunger coffee with locally ground coffee we have obviously missed these points in your room - rest assured we will address to prevent a re-occurance. If I can be of any further assistance please don't hesitate to contact myself direct at silo.gm@peppers.com.au Regards

Three nights at this nice hotel. Location is outside of the city center but nice river side walk to there. Our room was really large, double-double comfortable beds and view to the Tamar River and car parking area. Friendly service at the reception. We got a lot of information about Launceston and surroundings. Breakfast was only a la carte. We had dinners at the Grain restaurant. The second time there was some issues with the food, but our waitress took care of the situation professionally. There is also Gym available.

A very good hotel with a resident black labrador in the office/reception which is lovely to see:) The entrance into the hotel is a bit confusing as reception is up on first floor and there's a wind tunnel in the car park area. Apart from that the bed was very comfortable except for the duvet which was polyester and sweaty all night. IN a hotel of this standard natural fabrics should be used and cotton blankets supplied for thos with allergues to synthetic fabrics. THe dinner was very good as was the breakfast and all staff were very friendly and helpful, with a special shout out to Clement:0

We booked the Peppers Silo for a brief getaway to Launceston to check out the food and wine scene. Arriving from the airport we were checked in with a friendly but efficient manner and offered some tips about the area and what it had to offer. It is worth noting that when we made the booking we had requested a room away from lifts . A reservation staff member called to let us know the room we booked was next to the lifts and also to let us know it had views of the car park and some of the Tamar. He was right :While the new add on built room was very spacious and offered an excellent bath room and leather lounge and was perfectly air- conditioned it faced a large car park and also some very derelict commercial building and caravan squatters close to the kings Warf : Unsightly to say the least. I would book a room on the Silo side next time . The room was well appointed with Excellent bedding, lovely amenities and a complimentary bottle of Tassie Pinot Noir and some chocolates in recognition of our Accor Platinum status. The amazing range of food and drink sourced from Tasmania in the mini-bar, was a credit to the management in bringing these to be appreciated by those wanting to discover the UNESCO 'Gastronomic City" . Breakfast is A la Carte and is exceptional as was the 2 dinners we had at the Grains of the Silo Restaurant. I would place this as an exceptional place to eat with a wonderful relaxed ambiance watching the sun set over the Tamar but with food that lives up to its claim of paddock to plate freshness. please see my detailed review. The Staff are efficient, polite and friendly. The Chefs working in an open kitchen appear incredibly calm for the number of plates they produce ! There is an abundance of parking outdoors but also paid secure parking for $15 per night. I think a rental car is a must to really see it all. Given the public holiday we did find some of the wineries we wanted to visit were closed. The Peppers Silos is a 4 star punching well above its weight and delivering 5 star quality on many fronts, comfort, food and staff service. This is always a sign of excellent higher management. Thank you.

A delightful stay in a wonderful hotel with great views and excellent service. The Peppers Silo is a great place to stay when you're visiting Hobart. Looking over the Tamar/Esk rivers and just 15 minutes walk from the heart oof downtown the Peppers Silo is a superb, modern repurposing of a set of four old silos. Get one of the silo rooms and you'll love the curved walls and the authentic concrete construction of the place - and you'll have the best views in the hotel.
