The Wequassett Resort and Golf Club receives accolades for its extensive amenities, including children's programs and diverse dining options, though some guests have cited occasional overcrowding. While the hotel's cleanliness is consistently praised, opinions on the rooms vary; they are recognized for their spaciousness by some, but criticized by others for being outdated. The service is generally regarded as professional and attentive, despite a few reports of slow responses. Although the atmosphere with its special touches and live entertainment is highly regarded, the value proposition divides opinion, with some guests questioning the pricing relative to their experience.

I live 1.5 hours away from this property. This was my second visit to this hotel. As you can see, this hotel is VERY expensive. Its hard to shell out this kind of money for a few days vacation in my own state. However, having stayed at some of the best hotels in the world, I know excellent service. On my precious few vacations, where I'm footing the bill in cash, I'm going to find the best service I can afford. What you are really paying for at this hotel is excellent service. Check in was simple and quick. Our room was amazing (and it needed to be for the price we paid), perfectly clean and overlooking the water, with a patio, and a very modern design (subzero fridge, mini bar was stocked and prices of drinks were unusually fair, a nice bottle of wine with cheese and crackers and chocolate chip cookies were waiting for us). The food and service at the restaurant, Twenty Eight Atlantic was incredible. The pool staff is really what impressed us, as that is where we spent 80% of our time. They even had acoustic music each night playing near the pool restaurant and bar. The pool staff was highly attentive, positive and respectful, despite being mostly comprised of young adults. They seemed 10 years older by the professional attitude they displayed. I was fearful that due to the labor shortages seen elsewhere, the hotel would not be fully staffed, but was pleasantly surprised to see a full complement of staff everywhere I looked. In the end, the service was very impressive (and inspired this note). A water view room alone does not warrant the prices being charged here (as some other competitors may think). I attribute this service quality culture to very strong management (paradoxically, I don't think I ever saw or spoke to a manager at the resort). Unfortunately, on the cape there are limited options for high end hotels. If you want an excellent relaxing vacation with top notch service, this is your hotel.
This would not be a fair review if I didn't provide constructive feedback. So FWIW, here are a few things. 1. Eating outside for breakfast was a non-starter without umbrellas. We ended up sitting inside each day as it the sun was right on you sitting outside. This is a very simple thing to fix and make breakfast more enjoyable. 2. While we saw the water from our room, our patio hedges were very tall, so we could not see the water over them-I thought we would be able to hang outside and enjoy drinks overlooking the water. It seems in the tug of war between privacy and water view, the water view lost, to my displeasure. 3. The wetlands are starting to grow up through the floorboards of the cabanas (which rent for $300+ a day). This attracted lots of small bugs.

We’ve stayed here several times and it’s great for families as well as couples get-a-ways. The service is amount the best I’ve experienced as an avid leisure and business traveler. The only real ding is the outrageous pricing vs quality for the pool bar food. Just OK quality, but not for the prices charged. We received several meals that were under cooked as the was resort was packed and they were probably rushing. If you are willing to pay for a $26 basic cheeseburger, it better be on-point and not rare with soggy fries (happened more that once). The food at 28 Atlantic is also pricey, but worth the ask. I highly recommend breakfast and the fine dining offered. The grounds are in pristine condition and you feel like you are in a special place from the moment you turn onto the red painted entrance. Make sure to take the boat launch to their private beach on Nauset.

I really enjoyed my birthday weekend at this resort! I live in Manhattan, NY and since I’ve been on serious lockdown working from home, I decided to book a long weekend here.
All staff wore masks on the grounds and they encouraged booking all meals at check-in since spaces were limited due to the Covid precautions. I never felt nervous as the grounds are well spread out as well as the tables in each restaurant. The food was stellar and I ate my share of oysters for sure!
My garden room was also great complete with a balcony overlooking trees. The only drawback there was that the creamers first the coffee were old and they weren’t checked so my first coffee was unfortunate. I let housekeeping know and they replaced them.
Down Cape Charters and Boating were great too as myself & a friend had a kayaking tour up the river. Believe it or not, up river our guide Jan found his small boat that had sank 3 years earlier! We had a great time.
My dinners at 28 Atlantic were phenomenal too and my server Jessica was fantastic also.
All in all I recommended this resort & I hope to get there again soon.

The value just isn’t there when it comes to this hotel. $800 a night will get you a room at the Ritz or the Four seasons, or Wequassett. However at Wequassett it gets you a super basic and quite frankly dingy and outdated room. Bed linens and towels are sub par, Towels were stained, hair in food we ordered, outdoor furniture is beat and in some cases tattered and the beach shouldn’t even be advertised, it’s a pile of rocks. The service is good but not 5 star. In fact while they boast being a 5 star hotel there is nothing 5 star about it. Positives are they have nice landscaping, it is very kid friendly and Twenty-Eight Atlantic is very good. Other than that attention to detail is lacking and overall underwhelming and a disappointment. If you are charging a premium you should be premium and Wequassett has a ways to go. We will not be back, we will advise others not to go and we will not recommend it. There are two other hotels in the area that are far better with far superior beaches.

From the moment we arrived, to our departure six days later we loved EVERY minute of our stay at Wequassett Resort. Each and every employee exhibited courtesy and a genuine offer of helpfulness throughout our stay. From our wonderfully decadent time at the pool and beach each day, to the memorable Jazz Night on Wednesday, to each Wequassett food experience - we were delighted. The service across the resort was top notch. The resort is spread over lovely, wooded grounds and flowers abound. We found the entire resort to be stunningly beautiful so kudos to the gardeners of this gorgeous Cape Cod oasis. Our Garden View room was quite comfortable and it included a roomy patio where we enjoyed the cool mornings and nights. The only negative that I could come up with, is that many will find the prices over their budget. That said, I will tell anyone who will listen that this has to be on your "bucket list". We can't wait until our next visit.

We flew from Florida for a Fall , girls vacation to see the colors in New England. We enjoyed our ten days at five different resorts on this trip and The Wequassett was fabulous!! The resort is beautiful with great service and delicious meals. Scott, our bellman took us to our room and then gave us a tour of this gorgeous resort. Scott was very kind, helpful and friendly. He gave us wonderful suggestions to do during our stay and he made this such a positive experience for us. All our servers were excellent and each meal delicious. Atlantic 28 has beautiful, ocean views. The rooms are Cape Cod in design and the beds were comfy . Our balcony had a nice view of the water. My only suggestion would be to have QUIET HOURS from 11 pm to 7 am as most resorts have. We had very noisy people beneath our room that partied after a wedding till 1:30 am. Once we called the front desk about it, the noise and music stopped at once. Should have called sooner. Alexis, the Concierge was also very helpful. This is a great place summer or Fall, with the pools and ocean to enjoy. Super friendly staff and delicious hot apple cider and cookies to enjoy at 3 pm each day. If you want beauty, peace and quiet, this is a great resort!

We spent a long weekend here and were wowed beyond words from start to finish. We stayed in one of the ground level Signature Suites. It was updated and freshly decorated. Immaculately clean is what struck us the most. We had plenty of space and enjoyed the indoor fireplace and ample seating indoors as well as the outdoor space with hot tub and fireplace. Whoever designed this room thought of every aesthetic detail from the pocket doors to the mouldings and wood work. The closets were spacious with so many shelves and rods for hanging which is a rare find in any hotel.
We enjoyed walking the private beach as well as the grounds despite the cold. The resort is situated within easy driving distance of the cape cod lighthouse and Provincetown amongst other small towns along the cape.
There are a few important people at Wequasset who deserve being mentioned. First and foremost Harrison in guest services. He was professional and beyond attentive. Harrison went above and beyond to answer every question and meet every and any request. Management should take note as he was the first impression we had of Wequasset and it made a huge impact on our stay and absolutely will keep us coming back again.
Additionally, Malcolm and Eli over in Thoreaus should not go unmentioned. They provided us with outstanding dining service for both breakfast and dinner. They both left a lasting impression on our family with their warm and attentive service.
If you’re looking for a great place to eat Thoreaus will not disappoint. The food is a feast for the eyes and the soul along with the view, which is priceless. I can’t not mention the beautiful dishes and serving plates at Thoreaus. They were far from the generic restaurant style china. This only added to our experience.
Wequasset you did a great job at creating a lasting first impression and we cannot wait to return.

Overall we really enjoyed our stay at the Wequassett Resort and plan to come again next year. Our family manages some food allergies and the resort restaurants were able to handle them well. The gluten free menu was large and the restaurants have good allergy protocols to keep guests safe. The service was above and beyond, they sent me pictures of the ingredient labels for their S'mores so we could determine if they were safe for us to eat.
The only thing that could have been better were the restaurant dessert options. We ended up going off premises to find some safe desserts for the kids. There was a gluten free brownie but nothing for my child with a tree nut and peanut allergy except vanilla ice cream. The kitchen did not feel safe serving the chocolate chip cookie or brownie due to risk of cross contamination with nuts. I did appreciate that they did not want to risk serving us something that could make us sick but it would have been nice to have more dessert options. (Disney World has prepackaged allergy safe desserts so all guests feel included and at the nicer restaurants in DW the chef will often prepare a specific dessert that is free of our allergens.)
In general the food at Wequassett was very good and they made grilled chicken for my daughter since she does't like fried chicken tenders. The gluten free bread at the casual restaurants was great, but the gluten free roll we got at the expensive restaurant 28 Atlantic was hard as a rock!
I would recommend Wequassett for food allergy families because they understand about cross contamination and how to avoid it. We let them know about our allergies when we made the reservation, and also every time we ordered food. I would also recommend speaking with the Director of food and Beverage before your trip. It was great to enjoy a vacation at a beautiful resort and not be worried about allergic reaction when we ate!

It was sadly a very average trip. The experience at the pool and the outer bar and grille were extremely good. If that level of service was given throughout I would definitely give it 5 stars.

However, not having a room available when we got there and just told we had to wait and hang out (traveling with a toddler this is not the best situation), that combined with not great housekeeping (had to call multiple times to get our room cleaned even though we were out from 9 am) just made it a very average experience especially for $1700 a night. Would I go back for $600 a night - probably, would I go back for $1700 a night - definitely not!

Our visit was greatly affected by a poor room. We added on extra days to a family wedding but did not receive an upgrade per the Amex Fine Hotels package and were given a ground floor Villa with a "garden view" room. The Front Desk did nothing for us. We were also surprised to be woken up each morning by the noise from other guests above us. The room was dark and cramped with two queen size beds, and we could not use the private patio due to the noise from a/c units that made conversation impossible. The patio furniture was dirty. The resort property is very well maintained and all the staff were courteous, friendly and helpful. Breakfast service was slow and inattentive and the food orders were wrong two days in a row. The staff were not familiar with vegan options. The pool staff and service were consistent with what you’d expect from a luxury resort. Beautiful location but the room and inconsistent service were a big disappointment.

Hi, Kristen! Just wanted to make sure someone got back to you regarding your request for additional information. I do not have first hand knowledge regarding each of the scenarios about which you have questions but I think a telephone call to the resort (508) 432-5400 should be able to get you all the information you need "straight from the horse's mouth," as they say.
