If you are considering staying at Lakeside Campground, especially seasonally, I would suggest that you read the attached screenshots of my email exchange with them before doing so. I have stayed there seasonally for years. Last summer it was under new ownership and I gave it a try, but ultimately decided that I would like to pull out as the new owners appear to only see dollar signs and the customer service skills are non-existent. To summarize, the gates are locked and will be until may 19th except for the 2 4 hour time frames mentioned. The driveway also had a few feet of snow when I went last week to check. I’ve asked for additional time to get my things as I’m not available in those 2 4 hour time frames and it will take more time than that to do. The only solution they offered was to tow and impound my camper if it is not out by May 6th, before the season even starts.

I use to go to lakeside every summer as a kid. I am now 19 and planning to go back with a couple friends. I emailed Lakeside regarding the rules so I can be aware of them and respect them. They emailed me back and said "if you need to ask about rules this is not the campground for you" I only asked to be respectful of their campground, due to this we may not go camping there because they pretty much told us to go somewhere else. Pathetic

I visited this location as has friends staying at the next campground up the road. Their place was full so got the closest place to visit them.
Management needs to be more selective about who they allow to be a seasonal lot holder. Neighboring campers screaming cuss words at kids as they drove their bikes on the road and walking trails.
For a basic site with only 20 amps and water you are going to pay $42. The 20amp entrance is set up for an extension cord type plug. If you have the typical 30 or 50 to 20 amp plug that the wires comes off at a 90 degree angle you will have to tape it in place as a very tight plug. They offer no discounts for any travel association you may belong to. No sewer. The waste depot had about a 18” hole covered by a steel plate. Trust me it is easy to loose your dump hose connectors.
This location caters to the seasonal lots. The seasonal lots make you feel like you are intruding on their space and are very antisocial to visitors. Most places I leave the trailer unlocked, not here. Locked the door and the deadbolt every time I left site. Felt like a scene from the Trailer park boys. One neighboring site almost caused me to get high just off the fumes from what they were smoking.
Mens washroom smelt like an open sewer, did not matter if it was 5 in the morning or 2 in the afternoon. They looked clean though always smelled.
Parking space for your trailer was not bad, though the atmosphere is not worth returning to.

I've been camping at Lakeside Campground since it was still a Provincial Park. The people who bought it from the province are still the owners. This time around we tented with another couple and 2 toddlers and an infant. A lot of the campground is rented out seasonally. It can be entertaining to drive/bike around those sites to see the setups some people have. The campsites are fairly wooded. I dislike campgrounds that are just huge fields with spots marked out right on top of each other. This is not that kind of campground. We were able to find 2 sites next to each other with no one else camping around us. The tent area has great ground and the bathrooms were close and clean. Fire pits are at each site. The beach is a short walk away. There's a large field by the beach with a big kitchen shelter, horseshoe pits and playground. The beach has a boat ramp. The beach is quite rocky so water shoes are pretty important. If you go quite far out it will turn to sand. There's also clay just beneath the rocks that is fun for older kids to play with. It'll actually dry the way you sculpt it. Grand Lake is beautiful and great for swimming and water sports.

If you enjoy loud generators running at all hours due to the limited electrical sites, very damp sites after rains (ours was like a swamp) and your campsite being full of pine needles to track all through your studs then you will live it here. The washrooms are not well kept either
I do have to say that my kids enjoy the activities

We packed the family up Sunday and headed to this campground to stay a night because we always wanted to stay there. We arrived at around 3pm Sunday afternoon and was told that we would have to pay for 2 nights because of the long weekend. I could see if we landed there late Saturday but I would think that by Sunday afternoon, they would try to fill the last 6 vacant tent sites.

A beautiful camping site overlooking a well stocked fishing lake. Toilets and showers were clean with hot water in the showers. There is a dish washing sink unfortunately this does not have hot water. There is also a chemical disposal area. The campsite is well maintained with electric hookup available. It is quiet and peaceful. There is a small play area for the children. At the entrance there is a cafe which serves hot and cold snacks, drinks etc it is open all day until late evening. The staff working in the cafe are very friendly. Unfortunately this can not be said for the owner of the caravan site. I was upset to hear him complaining to several other campers that my granddaughter and I had been in the shower for 3/4 hr washing our hair. While he was waiting to clean it. There was no sign/notice to indicate what time of day the cleaning of the toilet/shower took place. A word of warning BE SURE to book through
UK campsite as this is something else that obviously irritates him. Would I return to Lakeside most definitely NOT
