Detailed Reviews
My wife and I recently visited Hyannis and stayed the weekend at the Cascade. We enjoyed the suite with the whirlpool. The kitchenette was more than satisfactory for the length of our stay. The motel itself is clean, and the staff was very courteous. Anything we needed, they went out of thier way to get. The suite itself had a huge living room with cable TV and a VCR, and the bedroom also had cable TV and a VCR. The kitchenette consisted of a fridge, stove, microwave oven, toaster, and a drip coffee machine (with coffee). The movie collection was suprisingly up-to-date (it rained that weekend). All in all it was a very comfortable stay and will return there on our next trip. Thanks again guys.

I admit I was a bit desperate when I called Cascade. We were making a weekend trip to the Cape on short notice, and had no one to watch my dog. Cascade met my requirements of being in a good location, cheap, and dog-friendly
I called Jim at Cascade to make our reservations. He was nice on the phone and we only had to pay $58 + $10 for Scylla. That's a great deal, even off-season, says I. He didn't even have any restrictions re: size (some places claim they're dog friendly, and then the small print is like, "as long as your dog is less than 20 lbs, sucka!")
In person, he was a little.... gruffer than on the phone. Not rude or anything! Just... not a friendly chit chat kind of guy, lol! He gave me the key (just one) and I almost made a joke about trying to swipe it like a key card, but I don't think it would have gone over well.
The room was decent. Clean enough, except for the ceiling. Which was creepy. The bed was comfy, but only had one pillow per person. There was a nice bedside table with a phone, a small table with a lamp and swivel chair, AND a desk. That's pretty impressive! I didn't shower, but Joe said the water pressure was good and hot. No mat in the shower, so we had to use a towel. We also had a mini-fridge, which was a pleasant surprise.
There was a TV with cable (and tons of DVDs in the office, btw). No channel guide though. But we did find menus and tourist info. We also found the pet rules:1) there is a special area to walk your dog, which even has poop bags available. However, it says throw out bags in the "dumpster," which we couldn't find. 2) Dogs must be on-leash at all times, which is fine by me AND the law. 3) Only two dogs per room. 4) No dogs on the bed. Joe and I read that and laughed. I mean, we tried to keep Scylla off the bed, but--let's just leave it at that.
Wifi was spotty, but they have it. It took me forever to figure out the password (it's on the key!), so I tried calling the main desk to get it. This was maybe 10 mins after we checked in. No answer. So when the desk closes, it closes.
We could hear our neighbors, but barely. The only problem was Scylla could hear them too, hence her jumping on the bed all night to protect us! Overall, we got a very good night sleep!
Check out was at 11, but we left around 7:30. Jim was at the desk already, which was nice bcs it wasn't totally clear where to leave the key. There was a mailbox, but it wasn't labeled or anything.
Overall, I would NOT recommend Cascade if you're going on your dream luxury vacation to the Cape. This is classic motel. It made me think of vacations with my parents back in the day. But, if you're looking for a decent room in a good location and at a bargain, especially one that is easy going and pet-friendly, then I think Cascade is a great choice. It's the kind of place made for people who see motels as just a place to sleep and would rather save their money for fun things to do while awake!

I went with my finace and my best friend and her boyfriend. We went the week before the "season" so everything was open, but the motel rates were a little cheaper. This was a nice romantic place, and perfect for our limited budget we had two rooms for 3 nights each for around 300 total. it was walking distance to town and there was tons of great restaurants in the area. The people who owned the place were really nice and helpful as well.

Ok for the price but in dire need of update. Pool advertised but hasn't had any water in it for 100 years! Hairs on towels. No ice or ice bucket, no shampoo, no conditioner. Mold painted over in bathroom. Ceiling peeling. 1 pillow per person. Stood in room 19, door hard to open had to get manager numerous times, Office manager not people friendly! For another $10.00 more go somewhere else!!! Was going to take photos but was embarrassed to show anyone where I stayed!

We booked at the Cascade after reading some of the glowing reviews it had here on TripAdvisor. Somehow, I feel that some members here must have very low standards! The Cascade looks like one of those Mom & Pop motels from the seventies, except it hasn't really changed much. The rooms are in dire need of some updating. There was a hole in our bathroom door. The pool was drained (they never told us about this when we booked). Also, one half of the motel seems to be rented out to long-term guests and the noise at night kept us up. The office was a complete mess... but this was somewhat comical!
On the good side, I have to say that the rooms were very clean and the bed was comfortable. If the only thing you're looking for is a bed and shower, or you absolutely need to bring your dog along, than this might be OK for you. For the price we paid, we probably shouldn't have expected much more.
For about 20$ more, we could've gotten a more modern room at one of the other motels. Next time, that's exactly what we'll do.

Given the preponderance of negative reviews, I was very reluctant to stay here. Evan after living in the area for over 20 years, I had never stayed there...until New Years Eve this year. What I discovered was shocking and left me pleasantly surprised. The room was small, but very CLEAN. The Owner/Manager was very friendly on both check-in and check-out... and even the Housekeeping Staff (who I was surprised spoke English) was very warm and friendly. I really only expected a cheap place to sleep.. yet found clean, warm accommodations in teh middle of everything (since I had taken public transit down and had no car). I'm in the Hospitality Industry, so I always look closely. I had one of the best undisturbed sleep experiences of my travel life. This is a great AFFORDABLE place to stay while enjoying all that the Cape has to offer.

We had to bring our dog, so this was the best place for that. From the outside, it looked a little iffy. But, the room was clean and they just renovated their bathrooms, so the bathroom was excellent with plenty of hot water and water pressure. The office guy wasn't that friendly, but we were well taken care of. The proximity to downtown Hyannis makes Cascade a BIG bargain. The French Bakery on Main Street is a MUST!!!! Hope this helps other people. We felt VERY comfortable with our dog, which is not always the case even at places that take pets.

Booked a last minute vacation to the Cape this past (late winter, early spring March) weekend. With nothing really operating summer hours yet, we decided to stay in Hyannis at the Cascade because there would be beaches within a walk/drive and restaurants that were actually open. We also chose the Cascade because they allow dogs. The Casade was very accomdating for our needs. We were looking for a place that was open in March, that allowed dogs and were we could sleep, knowing that we would be visiting the chilly beach during the day. The Cascade is not your 5 star hotel, but when I'm beachin' during the day, all I really need is a place to crash. The decor in the bathroom was nice, the room had desk, queen bed, and a mini fridge. The Cascade has an outdoor pool, which was obviously not open, and it's walking distance to the shops on Main Street. I think it's a great place to hide out for an early spring weekend before the tourists overflow the place.
Went to the Black Cat for a seafood dinner, which was nice also.
Have a fabulous trip!!!

I stayed in one of the single rooms there not too long ago. The room was clean and fairly spacious, and the staff there I found to be very helpfull. The bed was comfortable, and it too was the right size (queen I would say). The Steamship didn't run that night so I was stranded in Hyannis. The Cascade was right at the top of the hill, and the price was right, so I decided to stay there. Well, they made being stranded for the night a more tollerable situation. To the guys there, I want to say thanks and I'll see you again, I'm sure.

At first glance the Cascade Motor Lodge looks a bit rundown and neglected. But the rooms are clean, the staff are helpful and friendly, and the price is very reasonable. The room we stayed in was clean (except for the mold on the shower curtain) and comfortable. The staff were pleasant, provided supplies as we needed them and happily made suggestions for restaurants and things to do while in Hyannis and the surrounding area. The price is very reasonable for what they offer. And the location is great! Walking distance to downtown Hyannis, the harbor, and Veterans Beach.
