The Porches is a group of old row houses once used by millworkers. Now redesigned into a wonderful inn, the place has kept all of the authentic touches of the era. Don't expect elegance but, if you appreciate "funk" and 1900s shabby chic, you'll enjoy your stay.

We love the Porches and go at least twice a year. When I booked last week, I described the type of room I wanted (and asked them to look up my last reservation). I am not sure if those rooms were not available, but when I arrived and we toted our luggage upstairs, it was definitely not the bathroom type...

Thank you for your loyalty and your concern. Please rest assured that our standards are as high as ever. We know that your favorite room type is the king with private porch, upholstered armchairs, ottoman and claw-foot tub. We have only four of these rooms, and they are in high demand, especially during the busy summer months. You booked your...

We have been going to the Porches Inn for several years. We stay in a Junior Suite which is very comfortable. There is free Wi-Fi, comfortable seating, an amazing bathroom, and a luxurious bedding. However, over the past two seasons we have found housekeeping to not be up to the standard of the Inn. Specifically, the rooms are not thoroughly...

We've seen Porches for years from the windows of MASS MoCA, but we finally decided to spend a night here when meeting friends for a visit to the museum. The property is certainly unique and colorful. Our room was comfortable enough, with the bed being the best aspect. It was, however, also rather loud -- sound carries in the hallways....

I wanted to visit the Mass MOCA and Clark museums for a while now and finally schedulld a 3 day weekend with my husband. He did a quick search online and found the Porches Inn in North Adams, MA. It was a great place to stay. A restored and repurposed group of row houses that had such a unique, pretty...

Just completed a 2 night stay at The Porches. It came highly recommended by astute sophisticated friends. These rehabbed workers homes adjacent to the "mill" are comfortable. If you are on the second floor, as we were, it is a rather steep flight of stairs. Decor is , to put it mildly, different. Great bed. Good bathroom. Nice amenities. Good...

Thank you for staying with us and for taking the time to review our property. Although we do sell bottled water, as you point out, we also have complimentary spring water, which is available 24/7 at water coolers in our fitness room and pool house. Best of all, however, is the tap water, which percolates down from Mount Greylock Reservation,...

We stayed at the Porches when it first opened and were happy to see that the place has been kept up and was as delightful as when we were first there 14 years ago. Most delightful is the setting of the old railroad workers homes, the feeling has been maintained with upscale amenities. The bedding, pillows, sheets, towels, and bathroom...

Thank you for coming back to stay with us again after all these years, and thank you for your feedback. We rely on our repeat customers to keep us on our toes. We're sorry to learn that our breakfast wasn't to your liking. Did you try our scrumptious locally-made products--the Bola Granola, Sidehill Farm Yogurt and Barrington Coffee? They will...

This is one of the nicest places we have ever stayed. It is a terrific mixture of quaint and modern with nice amenities and a very helpful and friendly staff. It is perfect for a family vacation and its location across the street from Mass MoCA makes it ideal for art lovers.

Spent one night here and was initially skeptical about the location on a busy street across from the old textile mill- now Mass MOCA. I was completely won over by the personal attention and courtesy at checkin, the comfortable and really clean rooms, and the tasteful amenities like room service, complimentary delicious continental breakfast and a beautiful slate decked pool....
