My wife and I are approaching our 48th week staying at Moonlight Bay Cottages over the last 8 years.
The nine housekeeping cottages are all modern and cozy, and do not lack anything to make your stay first rate.
The grounds are immaculately kept, much similar to the cottages, it hosts a private white sand beach and plenty of room to either join in on the happenings or take those quite times to yourself.
They offer rental boats as the fishing can be quite fantastic for those who are looking for the ultimate fishing vacation or those looking for a family vacation where there the whole family can participate. From perch, to pike to unbelievable muskie to the often sought after king of the game fish the walleye, the French River never disappoints.
And best of all, it is one of the few places that you can find where you arrive as a guest but you leave as a member of the Moonlight Bay family. You will meet and form many great friendships during your stay that will carry on for years to come.
Your host Bruce prides himself on making your stay the ultimate vacation experience.

Just got back from a week of relaxation at Moonlight Bay Cottages. My family and I stayed in cottage #4. The cabins are cozy and comfortable with all you need to enjoy yourselves. Clean running water for cooking and bathing. They have a nice little beach which is shallow and Bruce the owner built a nice pad for the kids to jump off of. Boat rentals are also offered and a great way to explore the area. The cabins are located at the north end of the Chanel and its nice and private/quiet away from all the other cottages. Amazing for canoe and kayaking. Fishing is also good. Bruce is a very nice guy, he works hard and the place is in tip top shape. The views are spectacular, a little gem up north, we hope to return someday soon!

If you love spending time with Family, having all types of fun, enjoying the great outdoors and putting your fishing skills to use...or, are just learning how to fish, Moonlight Bay Cottages is THE BEST place to vacation. I have been coming here every year with my Family since 1962, my parents have been coming to MLBC since the 1950’s. We have had many good times, have caught thousands of Pickerel (catch and release; lots of ‘pic’ pics), and have enjoyed enduring friendships over the decades with fellow annual vacationers. Our host, Bruce Lavallee, has run MLBC for the last 35+ years...and I hope he runs it for many more years to come! Excellent...all-around! With lots of love, The Daly Family 😘

My family stayed at this resort and it was everything but good . First off Bruce is very nosey and rude to the guests as he walks into your cottage at anytime and sits down making himself at home. He will not accept debit just cash . Being from the USA this was incovenient for me but he has to do this to avoid paying taxes. The cottages smell like smoke , the bedding is filthy and his dog is very vicious that roams around the site so look out ! Lastly, THIS LAKE OR RIVER WHATEVER YOU WANT TO CALL IT IS HORRIBLE FOR FISHING !!!! WATER IS FILTHY AND POLLUTED !! If we had kids on our trip i would not let them swim in it. Many other cottages around to choose from so i suggest you do so!

If anyone visited the French River area before, they would be fascinated deeply by the magnificent scenic presentations of dense trees and marbles rocks, and by the clear emerald-blue water of the French River that runs from the fabulous Lake Nipissing in the Ontario near north and empties into the Georgian Bay of Lake Huron. My wife and I visited the French River before and we have been trying to get back to verify the big fish stories and rekindle our passion for the tranquility of the big “French (River)”.
Now we are in our early retirement, we can fulfil our dream and have decided to head north to the French. In September, I managed to recruit a few friends and rented two cottages from Moonlight Bay Cottages neat Alban, Ontario. The cottage site was big and well maintained. Our two-bedroom cottages were roomy and the kitchens were well equipped with modern stoves and fridges. Hot water was adequate and bathrooms were clean. The water was delivered from a 30-metre deep well and safe to be used for cooking so we did not need to use bottled water for washing foods for our meals. The boats were clean and the motors were well maintained. Our cottages were sitting on an elevation of limestone (marble) rocks by the water; thus, we could enjoy a majestic scenic picture of the river. Fishing was a bit slow but we still managed to get some nice bass. Now we know the water better, so when we return, we know where and when we can get our reels hot. The cottages were safe and inexpensive. The site and cottages were well kept. It provides comforting amenities for friends and families. It is about 300 kilometres from Toronto by car.

Stayed before and staying again. This resort features clean, well kept cottages that are equipped well for families. All the amenities needed for a getaway from the city. The beach is very clean. This place is meant for true r and r as well as family time. Leave the iphones at home. The fishing is great and easy. There is a great launch ramp at the resort and they offer docking at a small rate. Close drive to a few supermarkets, LCBO and beer store.
