Detailed Reviews
Visited Brass Key the week after it opened, I knew that I would probably not get another chance to visit Provincetown at such low prices. Even navigating through a national health crisis, Brass Key did it with grace. We arrived on a Saturday afternoon, where we were greeted kindly with fresh packaged cookies and water bottles. The manager kindly parked our huge car for us which we were very thankful for, and we left our keys at the front desk. The guesthouse is beautiful and we could tell the plants had been freshly watered and well kept. Stepping out into the lobby you will be greeted by many quaint seating areas and a pool with hot tub. Breakfast was served in a building to the left and was delightful each morning with selections that varied in type and cuisine. Each item was carefully wrapped so as to maintain the risk of infection. We had chocolate croissants, Greek yogurt, fresh bagels and cream cheese, empanadas, breakfast burritos, quiches, and muffins. A variety of beverages like coffee and juice were available as well. Staff members awaited nearby to help guests remain properly distanced and free from risk of the virus. Many staff members were frequently cleaning and sanitizing to uphold the spotless appearance of the guest house as well as the regulations set by the Massachusetts government. I enjoyed the pool on several occasions and found the salt water lovely on my skin. As a lesbian visiting with my mom, I was worried I would be intruding on the mostly gay couples staying here, but everyone was very friendly and polite. We stayed in room 104, which was a standard queen room. We were very impressed with the air conditioning unit as well as the high-tech shower. Beds were comfortable and clean. Many outlets were available to use and the fridge was very cold. The beauty products in the bathroom smelled great and worked well. Our room was equipped with a coffee maker and coffee, but we did not use it. We enjoyed the small library in our room with only the essentials, War and Peace and Gone Girl. The location of the guesthouse could not be better, it was seconds from commercial street and about a five minute walk to the beaches. Beach towels and cooler in room were a very nice touch. Most importantly, it was near the Provincetown Fudge Factory. We enjoyed their peanut butter cups and ice cream several times on our three day stay. Overall, it was a great time and we look forward to returning. Thanks!

Just completed our week-long stay at the brass key resort. It was the perfect “home base” for a magical week of memories that we made in Provincetown. The management staff (Tyler and Patrick) went above and beyond to make us feel at home. They seemed like instant friends we could laugh and chat with while they were busy making sure everything was perfect around the Inn was perfect. The pool bartenders (Ali & Daniel) were also a delight and despite making countless trips from the bar to the pool, couldn’t have more pleasant. The rest of the staff each made sure to say hello as they passed by, and those little hellos and smiles built up by the end of the week to friendly little conversations which truly created a homey atmosphere. The housekeeping staff was top notch. Our room was done each day and there was even a turn down service in the evening to check on towels and drop off waters. The grounds were kept impeccable; Brass Key feels like an island oasis amongst the bustle of downtown and it’s honestly hard to leave the serenity of the pool and social banter with the fellow guests. That being said, we tend to be very busy on our vacations to Provincetown, heading to pool parties, boy beach, daily Tea at the Boat Slip, dinners, shows and clubs; so our appreciation of Brass Key’s central location can not be understated. We were constantly dipping back to the hotel to change for the next thing. Its a 5-10 minute walk to almost anything downtown, and made life so easy during our stay. If you’re looking for a 5 star paradise that caters to both R&R or jumping head first in all that Ptown has to offer, Brass Key is the perfect home away from home.

I have stayed at the Brass Key many times over the years and I am always glad when I do. It's pricey compared to many other places in town, but in my experience, it is well worth it. Perfect location right in the middle of everything. You could rent a bike if you wanted, but it's just a short walk to most of the places you will want to go while you are there. It has impeccable grounds and an amazing heated infinity pool right in the middle of the property. I felt very safe here during COVID times and all the staff were always very helpful and diligent about keeping things clean and enforcing social distancing and mask wearing among guests, which made me very comfortable. There's nowhere else I'd rather be on the cape during a pandemic. Cant wait to go back again soon!

We stayed at the Brass Key for 5 nights beginning August 5th. We were in a Superior King, room 155. We have had 6 previous visits to the Brass Key over the years. We have been satisfied with the accommodations and the property. However, this visit was disappointing.
I know that rooms vary widely in terms of décor and comfort. I called twice before we arrived to ask about the room we were assigned. I was assured that this was one of the nicest Superior King rooms. When we checked in, we were immediately disappointed (included are a number of pictures). The description for the bathroom reads: “The newly renovated bathroom has a luxurious European body-spray shower with limestone tile.” The bathroom looks like a Home Depot budget renovation that occurred a decade ago. The towels and sheets were not what I would consider what you would expect from a “Premier Hotel”. They were worn and are way overdue for replacement, we ended up using the beach towels we brought from home. There was also some neglect around the property, as you can see in the pictures. We ended up getting a few takeout meals rather than eat in a restaurant, so we used the patio often. It would be nice if they fixed up the patio, as it was crowed on a normal night. Overall, it seems like the upkeep and general maintenance has lagged when compared to previous years.
We were concerned about traveling to a hotel during COVID, and the Brass Key did have several policies in place that provided us comfort. When we first arrived, we saw piles of linens in the hallway, which we thought suspicious. We also saw many people who were using the pool come into the Queen Anne to use the bathroom, without masks. Overall, I think they did the best they could, and we were planning on another visit before the end of summer but decided to hold off.
We would have asked to move rooms but were told the property was sold out. So, we were stuck with our accommodations. When we checked out, I said we were disappointed with the room. We got a response that they were sorry to hear that. I have always enjoyed staying at the Brass Key, I think there are now better choices that exist in Ptown, which we will explore next visit.

I/We have been going to Brass Key for years! Whether traveling alone or with a Partner/Friend- there are areas to be social with guests or be in an area to read a good book, connect to WiFi, or recharge. The Staff is very attentive to Guest’s needs, rooms are spotless, beds comfy, and location is Central to P Town happenings. BRAVO!

The Brass Key is very unassuming. From the outside it appears like another random inn connected to a loud bar (The Shipwreck). Once behind the gate surrounding the property you're transformed to a hidden resort style oasis in the center of Provincetown. The grounds are thoughtfully designed, and well maintained. The pool and hot tub areas are appropriately sized, and very inviting for either socializing, or just relaxing at various times of day.
From the onsite parking, to breakfast, to wine & cheese social, the amenities of The Bras Key certainly make you feel like you're getting value for your dollar.
We had a classic queen room which was large enough for the two of us as you don't necessarily spend much time in your room. My only complaint is that the bed was a little firm for my liking, but that's not really their fault as it's hard to cater to all when deciding on bedding at a hotel. The inclusion of a keurig and mini-fridge in the room is appreciated as well. We would definitely consider staying here again.

We had a wonderful stay at the brass key! The property is immaculate and the pool is beautiful and kept at the perfect temperature. The breakfast was consistently delicious with a great variety of exciting hot dishes in the morning. The lounge area is great and we enjoyed several creative cocktails. Our room was adorably decorated and we had a private sitting area where we could enjoy coffee in the morning and cocktails in the evening. The best part were the very nice owners and people working there, on site parking (get there early) and making friends with the other guests, everyone was very social and having a great time in Ptown! Will definitely be back. Side note- when we were chatting with people in town everyone told us the brass key is the nicest place to stay in Ptown. We agreed!

I think it was a mistake getting rid of the nightly turn down service. After being at the pool, or out all day, we naturally showered before dinner, using both our bath towels. In all my years of staying at The Brass Key, there was always a turn down service that, besides turning down the bed, cleaning up the room and bathroom, always included refreshing the towels. It was always such a treat coming back to our room every night , with chocolates on the bed and usually some type of weather print out for the next day. This year, after we realized that we weren’t going to be getting a turn down service (fresh towels), my husband and I ended up having to share one towel after our pre-dinner shower to insure we had a dry towel for the next morning. The Brass Key is a top notch, luxury accommodation, we shouldn’t need to be sharing bath towels. We love The Brass Key and want to continue to stay there. Please consider bringing back the turn down service for 2023.

My girlfriend and I decided to go on an impromptu vacation for the weekend. We stumbled upon this hotel. We received amazing service and generosity from the moment we stepped in. Everyone was so friendly and attentive when something was needed. We got free breakfast every morning and in the afternoon, wine and cheese. The rooms had amenities such as a refrigerator, a pod coffee maker and shower necessities. We even got robes which I lived in the entire weekend basically. It’s right near Commercial street, just a short walk. I can’t wait to go back.

Brass Key is a wonderful option for lodging in PTown. It's central location provides easy access to Commercial Street and there's a great pool & hot tub on property around which the rooms are centered. There is also a bar toward the front, which seemed lively, but was not a disturbance from a noise standpoint. Dean at the front desk was wonderfully helpful and overall we had a great stay. Room had AC and also a gas fireplace which was a nice touch. King bed was very comfortable. Highly recommend Brass Key!

Yes I do believe they allow dogs, I think they have guest rooms that will allow you to have your pet with you
2 minutes walk to the water but not the best beach there
No. Provincetown is highlt diverse and welcoming to all. There is something for everyone. No one is out of place there. Make sure you make dinner reservations well in advance at The Mews and The Red Inn. You will love it! Enjoy!
Yes you can, we are very much a straight couple.
