We stayed here at the beginning of August 2013. The hotel is old fashioned; no lift to get your cases up the stairs, staff were unhelpful and totally unbothered about customer service. Our room was small and smelled like urine, I went downstairs to ask for air freshener as my room smelled bad. The member of staff didn't even apologise...

We stayed at the Emerson for a few days several weekends ago. While there, I overheard several employees, all kids, quietly asking each other how they did in terms of tips for the day - quite normal behavior. One would expect such an elite hotel, with rooms at $200 and up, providing guests with a way to leave tips. No...

The Emerson Inn is not in downtown Rockport and not really walkable to downtown either unless you are a serious walker. This is a Inn for those who want a nice (on the large size) inn, with a restaurant, away from the hustle and bustle of town. It is situated in a beautiful neighborhood of lovely homes and the absolute...

This is a fabulous old hotel by the ocean encompassing a time when folks came to stay for an extended period to escape the summer heat. Indeed, one of its visitors was Ralph Waldo Emerson for whom the inn is named. It is very comfortable yet elegant. The inviting salon with a grand piano features original wide floor boards and...

Overall, this place is wonderful. It has amazing views, comfortable accommodations (although I REALLY did not like the smell of the room!) and just a very relaxing atmosphere. At first I was a little worried because it's sort of away from the hustle and bustle of the town, but all in all, you really get the best of both worlds...

Lovely historic Inn by the sea with a great view. A little off the beaten path but great if looking for quiet. Beds are very comfortable with nice linens. Breakfast is included and is very good. Much like a Sunday Brunch. The staff could not do enough to make your stay pleasant. The only problem is the dinner menu. The...

Location is wonderful. The inn is a little worn but charming. Our biggest problem was dinner at the inn. We had a reservation, and were seated promptly, but here is where it goes wrong. We had a 7:30 reservation and we had our dinner in front of us at 8:45. We waited 15 minutes before we flagged down a server....

We arrived at 4:30 pm and were quickly checked in by a very courteous gentleman. He gave us all the normal registration instructions. We had a third floor king sized bed room. It had a picture window (sorry no balcony) with a gorgeous view of the ocean. In fact if you sat up in the bed all you could see...

After reading positive reviews on Trip Advisor, I decided to book the Emerson Inn for a quick weekend getaway. Since I booked at the last minute, my choice of rooms was limited. Unfortunately, the only ocean view rooms available were among the most expensive at the inn, so I booked a non-ocean view room and really didn't feel like I...

The Hotel is in a beautiful location with stunning ocean views. It was a lovely place to relax and do nothing. it was just a shame that the level of service we would expect from a hotel like this was just not there. The restaurant staff were lovely and very friendly as were the ground and room staff but we did...
