Detailed Reviews

I stayed here during Covid Lock Down time. The owner kept room and common area disinfected and set proper protocol for safety for the guest and herself. The room is simple but clean and well maintained.
What amazed me most is the breakfast. It was restaurant quality and above average B&B breakfast. We stayed there for 3 nights 4 days and every single morning, different breakfast carefully cooked was individually served. It is a bargain deal for $100/ night as the breakfast is so good.
Muffin, Quiche were freshly baked and came out from oven. Fruits presentation is great. Chicken salad stuffed in petit tomato are look pretty and taste great.
complementary baked cookies, snacks, bottled waters are also very sweet and when we left, the owner gave us hand made masks.
While they do not come to guest rooms, there are cats live with owner. If you have extremely sensitive to cats, this place may not be for you.

This place is magical. You'll feel as if you are in beautiful hidden garden. There are trails into the woods, fire pits, & just lovely places to both explore & relax. Inside is even better. warm, cozy, comfortable with a large meeting room , the living room has big fireplace. & big t.v. The rooms are large with vaulted ceilings with gorgeous wood beams over tongue & groove wood ceilings, comfy beds. The host, Susan is the best part! She greets every guest with warmth & a tour.. she could not be more accommodating & welcoming. We needed something in the middle of the night & Susan was right there. She makes a mean breakfast...restaurant worthy! The whole experience there is like a big warm hug! And the prices make it a great package. If you're going to the Berkshires, stay here!!!

We had a wonderful long weekend at Susan’s cozy lodge. Her hospitality is unparalleled and she is full of suggestions for what to do in the area if you need ideas. She provides a large hot breakfast every morning and there are snacks available in the afternoon and evening. Our room was very comfortable and spacious for two and came with an electric blanket which was a perfect touch for an unseasonably cool, rainy weekend. There are plenty of books and games to keep yourself occupied, in addition to a large TV in the living room. The wifi also works great if you’re looking to get work done. Susan also provides a large list of dining recommendations in the area. I highly recommend a stay at Sheffield Lodge and we hope to return again when the weather is nicer!

My teenage daughter and I were on a roadtrip and felt so lucky to stumble upon this little gem. The area is so beautiful, and Susan's lodge is just what we were looking for. It is wood throughout in the interior (except for one painted wall in the bedroom), and beautiful. The kitchen was stocked with coffee and access to a microwave, toaster oven and fridge. Susan was so welcoming. We left too early to take advantage of the breakfast, which from other reviews sounds wonderful.

Lovely and well-maintained B and B with pretty woodland setting. Our room was spacious, quiet, and nicely furnished. Breakfast was delicious, and the variety of dishes was thoughtful. The building is lovingly maintained by Susan, the conscientious and hospitable innkeeper. She made us feel very welcome. We hope to return when in the southern Berkshires.

If you want a getaway and a place to relax and enjoy yourself. Well, the Sheffield Lodge is nothing but the best. Susan is loving, caring, and host the most wonderful home for you to enjoy and feel completely at her cozy log home. Breakfast is nothing short of the best and I completely enjoyed the sound of the wind coming down the mountain. Of which is right behind the house.

Stumbled on this gem and so glad I did. My boyfriend is hiking the Appalachian Trail and I was looking for a place to meet and spend the weekend together. The location of the lodge is perfect for hikers! In addition to the Appalachian trail there are many more trails to explore.
Perfect location for day hikers.
Susan is wonderful! Her hospitality is superb and the accommodations are wonderful.
The lodge is located in the woods it is a charming log house with a cozy feeling. There is a large fire pit with marshmallows to roast or just enjoy the stars.
If you are looking for a place in the woods and want to enjoy nature this is the place to be.

Fantastic host. Fantastic home. Fantastic breakfast. Susan makes every effort to make your stay perfect in every way.
The home is beautifully appointed. The bedroom was large and elegant. The breakfast was almost too much.
This is the best place to stay in this area …. do not miss.

Just got home from two nights with Suzan in her cozy inn. Plenty of space for guests to interact but still maintain social distancing. Amazing breakfasts! Rooms nicely decorated but not etsyed out. Great location near many Berkshire destinations. Last night went out to our car around 9pm to get something and was welcomed into the forest darkness by the call of nearby Barred owl responded too by a chorus of coyotes down the street. This morning we woke to a pair of dear outside our window. Magical.
