Reviews summary
This summary was created by AI, based on recent reviews.

The Hyatt House Boston/Waltham offers travelers spacious and comfortable rooms, though some guests have noted the decor could use an update and have raised concerns about cleanliness. The service is generally commended for its friendliness and professionalism, yet some inconsistencies with housekeeping are mentioned. Its location is popular for its convenience to highways and local spots. While opinions on the hotel's atmosphere are mixed, the value is appreciated, with inclusive breakfast, parking, and reasonable pet fees. Amenities like well-equipped rooms with kitchens are a highlight, despite some disappointment in breakfast quality.

We love the place because it was close to Brandeis University. Friendly staff all around. Clean room and it looks like new! We recommend the place. Sofa bed comfy for my son. Good breakfast as well. 100% recommended. You can go to restaurants around by walking.

i think I will find a different place to stay next year. The Red Roof Inn is now much better at less than half the price than this Hyatt and I have stayed at this Hyatt several times over a period of years. Hotels that take dogs are always a challenge to find and I appreciate their tolerance. They have a great breakfast and some of the staff are very accommodating.

Wonderful staff. front desk ladies were exceptional. Housekeeping was wonderful, the shuttles drivers always went above and beyond to help my family out while we were there for a challenging time. Great place will stay there again multiples times this year

I thought I was staying at a Hyatt. If it was, it was definitely not up to Hyatt standards. They gave me a room that they knew the TV was not working. There was a pull out bed but no linens in the room. When I called for linens they did not come within 1/2 hour. I called again and I was rudely told that they never got the first request. Then they brought the linens to the wrong room and told me it was my fault because I called from that room, which I did not. We went down to look for breakfast and didn't find it. They never told us until we left that it was a bagged breakfast because of Covid. The noise coming from the hall and the next room was excessive and made it difficult to sleep. The shower assembly was coming off the wall. When I wrote a specific review directly to the hotel, I received a lame canned response from the manager. There are several hotels in this area, choose one of them rather than the Hyatt House.

The hotel is being remodeled but most of it is done and the new rooms, especially the suites, are very nicely designed and comfortable. The complimentary breakfasts are good, offering made-to-order omelettes and there is an exercise room open 24-7. In addition, if you have a dog, it's about 200 yards to trails in Prospect Park. There is no bar, (or food service other than breakfast) but it is a short walk to plenty of bars and restaurants.

The fridge in the kitchen was not balance and had water leaking from the freezer.
The water wasn't hot on the 1st night and you to request your room to be clean 24hrs in advance but that was difficult when you check in on Friday at 3pm and you want your room clean on Saturday.

if you decide to stay bring some cleaning supplies and a bag of ice and can't forget nothing to wash the dishes so bring some dish washing liquid as well.

Have stayed in this hotel several times. Lately, the management has worsen. The entry key system failed and there was not a quick enough solution. The breakfast is worse than the regular continental breakfast in Choice Hotels. The kitchen staff lacked training in attention to hygiene. The supervisor used her bare hands to flip the ready-to-serve pancakes inside the warmer. The scrambled egg was ill-prepared. One time (in March), the scrambled eggs were like rubber and inedible. Email to general managers about issues never got any response. They do not have management staff business cards for customers to contact.

I stay at the Hyatt hotels often. Some staff even know me by name now. I choose the Boston/Waltham location because I don't have to pay the price of a downtown Boston hotel, but I can get to downtown Boston easily from this location. I hope that Hyatt does not use this remark as evidence that they can raise prices from this location. The breakfast is subpar since I have a gluten allergy. The rooms are clean and nicely smokefree. Somethings do not work. For example at my last stay the room door knob was jammed and it never got fixed.

Three stars is being generous. From the outside the Hyatt House seems up to date and well cared for but after staying there for three days I think differently. It started upon check-in when a gentleman checking me in seemed less than enthusiastic about either checking me in or his job. When done checking me in I asked him what temperature the pool is at and he putting quite bluntly that the pool has not opened for the season. As for the room, it is very large with a kitchen, living room and the separate bedroom, which was very nice. But this is where I started finding issues, first of all someone put a dirty glass in the cabinet and I almost drank from it the first night in the dark, the device that locks the shower soap/shampoo/conditioner we open and thus people could put something in the bottles other that what should be in there. After the first full day at the hotel our room was not cleaned, so I went down to the front desk to ask if they are supposed to clean the room nightly but was told only if we ask for it, otherwise it is every other day or so and I should have asked for it to be cleaned if we wanted it. The bed, good thing I like being close to my wife otherwise we would have had a problem as the bed is well used and slopes towards the center. Lastly, as I appreciate breakfast being included it was the worst free breakfast I have ever had the opportunity to try to eat, ended up throwing it out and going to a restaurant to eat. You might ask if I spoke to the front desk agent upon check out and I had intended to but she was on the phone with what seems like a personal call (not positive) and just checked me out and kept on with her conversation. Would I stay there again, NO.

This was overall a decent value for what we paid. However, we did have some issues with cleanliness of our room. For example, we found rodent droppings and a bunch of dust on top of the refrigerator, and there was a liquid stain inside the fridge under one of the shelves. Other than those issues, the rest of the room was pretty clean.

Also, the King Suite is advertised as having a dedicated working space with a desk and phone, and our suite didn't have either of these things. When I asked about this at the front desk, I was told that most of the suites don't have desks (then why advertise that they do?), and that most people work at the countertop in the kitchen. I booked this room because my husband and I actually needed separate working spaces, so the countertop solution wasn't really a great option for us.

Other than that, it was a fine place to stay for a short trip and the location is great if you need to go to Mass Gen or one of the tech companies in the area. It's just off the highway, but set far enough back so that you don't get all the highway noise.

I’d definitely ask! I heard two dogs barking in a room when I was walking down to breakfast if that helps? Traveling with fur babies is a necessity at times!

No The hotel pool closes in the fall when it gets cold. I don’t think any hotel in Massachusetts has an outdoor heated pool in the winter
