This is not a 5 star place to stay. That being said, this is a family run, clean, warm, comfortable, family and budget friendly accommodation. We stayed at the Tidewater Inn because of a contest in which we had won a two night stay by guessing the number of lights and ornaments on their Christmas tree. So, hubby and I spent a lovely weekend on the cape. When we arrived, we were greeted by Charles who was very kind and friendly, He explained where to find our room and gave us breakfast tickets for the morning. Our room was located in the back rear building on the second floor. The room was a King with a quaint water view. Across the parking lot there is an inlet with Adirondack chairs to sit and enjoy on a warmer day. There was a swan paddling about. Someone from the staff was kind enough to go into the room beforehand and set the heat making the room warm when we entered. It was 17 degrees outside, so we appreciated the thoughtfulness very much. The room was dated but well kept, warm and comfortable. There was a small outdoor balcony, a bathroom with everything we needed, a refrigerator and basic cable television. There were other guests staying but we didn't hear any noise during our stay. In the morning, breakfast was included at their 50's diner from 6 am to 9 am. This staff member was also very kind. We had 5 items to choose from including eggs, bacon or sausage, homefries, toast, juice coffee, pancakes (plain or with blueberries), an omelet, a breakfast sandwich, cereal, etc. Suffice to say, there was something for everyone. We helped ourselves to coffee and the breakfast was made to order. Within the same building, there was a large indoor pool. I'm sure a family could enjoy it very much. The cost of the room (off season) was $69.00 which included breakfast and the indoor pool, a definite family friendly vacation on a budget. We would like to thank the staff at the Tidewater Inn for being so kind and thoughtful during our stay. We wish you the best.

I will start right out the gate with the positives!

1. Great location to big store shopping, quant Main Street Hyannis (tons to do and eat,) mini golf, many restaurant options, airport, and the Hyannis port! We were able to take a fast boat to Nantucket for the day!

2. Water view- certain rooms have a view available at the back of the property and I am so glad we did it. Feels tucked back off the very busy road the Inn sits on. The views are not perfect no but it really helps you feel at peace!

3. Indoor and outdoor pools! Indoor pool is salt and outdoor is not. The outdoor is actually super nice and kinda swanky with its little cabana like corner sofas! The pool was so refreshing and clean!!

4. CLEAN room, comfy bed and pillows! Little fridge in the dresser and a new 📺

4. Helens Diner- saved the best for last. Ok people…this place needs more love online! The first morning I got the French toast topped with fresh local berries and whipped cream. omggggggg made with straight LOVE! Seriously it was the kind of perfect bite that makes ya wanna bounce in your seat! You food lovers out there know what I’m sayin! Then I tried my husbands food. Ummm violets potato’s are just oh I don’t even know!??! The perfect breakfast potato. Cooked perfectly and seasoned…YUMMMM! Freshhhh blueberry pancakes I sampled also! 🥰 coffee is served to go and you can take it all out on the patio that overlooks the bay!! So so cool. Go! Don’t expect some fancy frilly place either just go in and be adventurous with your order and try it!!

Ok so I’m giving it a high rating but not perfect for a few reasons. It’s a dated place. It’s has its charm but inside it’s never been truly truly renovated. The really only downfall from this is the fact that it just smells kinda musty and old. I always travel with a portable oil diffuser so after one night I had gotten it smelling and feeling a bit more at home. I’m not prissy so I was able to just work with it, but If you are looking for luxury and 5⭐️ accommodations, this is not the place for you. It deserves at least one more star in here though!! It’s on a busy road, but that was perfect access for my husband to get to downtown Hyannis. Worked for us!

Room was adequate but not stellar. Due to Covid 19, the diner is not in service which was not communicated during booking or upon arrival. Door numbers for rooms in the 90s are not posted, so we drove around quite a bit before another guest told us this. The shower mechanism was outdated and bathroom doorknob was falling apart. Beds were comfortable and the deck with water view was very pleasant. Having the small refrigerator in the room was also a plus. No maid service for room, also due to Covid. If your looking for upscale for less money, I wouldn't stay here. If you dont care and want to keep to a budget, this inn will work.

We knew this was not a high end Inn but what we got was horrendous. The office was closed upon arrival, there is an outside phone to contact the night manager. However there were no wipes or hand sanitizer in sight, did not feel comfortable with that. During check in an additional $100 was held on our credit card, did not see the need for that as the first night stay was prepaid. When we got to our "king" size room the bathroom was tiny with no sink, that was located across from the bathroom next to the open closet. There was no microwave so we could not reheat our takeout food which was the only option for food that night. The room was extremely dusty, not good for my allergies but so glad we had clorox wipes. No remote control for TV but the worse was when we pulled back the sheets, there was a stain on the bottom sheet! We tried to use the room phone to contact the manager but it did not work, we tried calling using our phones but no answer. Our only option was to get dressed, go back to the outside office phone except it was midnight and after a long journey we just wanted to sleep. In the morning we decided to check out, we gave a written list of why and requested a full refund. The desk person said we would not be charged for the cancelled night but the refund for the first night would be at the discretion of the owner. 6 days later we had to call as no one had reached out. The owner did not care, said we should have requested a room change and offered a discount on the room taxes for the 1st night only. We would not recommend this Inn to our worst enemy.

Our family vacation to Disney was put on hold due to the Pandemic. After search/reading review for a mini get away we decided to take our chances on The Tidewater water in. From the moment we checked in it smelled clean. All staff wore masks. There was hand sanitizer available at the front desk and the air smelled fresh and cleaned. We rented the Family Suite which was the perfect size for my family of five with plenty of room to move about. The room we had overlooked the pool and the property. Both outdoor and indoor pool’s were opened although we used the outdoor pool only. Property is within walking distance to a breakfast diner as the one attached to the hotel was closed. Next door was a mini-golf place with ice cream bar which my kids loved. Short drive to Various beaches and Main Street. Overall an excellent experience, would absolutely recommend and my kids are already asking when can we go back!!

I have a severe gluten allergy, so we packed three days worth of food. Not only was the fridge in the room tiny, it was also not keeping the first two shelves cool. We did not realize until the next day, when are food was warm (not even room temperature). We talked to the person at the front desk, and they said they would have the manager call us. We never got a call, and had to go back to ask again, where they told us that the maintenance man had looked at it and said it was working. Magically when we got back to the room it was fixed. That didn’t matter though, because our $40 worth of food was spoiled. We asked for the manager again, and were told they would give us a call. They never did. Not only did we have a terrible experience with the management, but the room was also dirty and moldy. By far the worst place I have ever stayed.

The Tidewater Inn is run down and outdated. Our room was gross and dirty. The toilet fixtures were rusty, there was a gross stain on the toilet seat lid which did not come off, the shower curtain rod was falling apart, the bathroom tile was peeling and moldy, and the shower did not drain fast enough so we had to take showers in ankle deep water. There was a fridge and microwave. The WiFi was very slow and intermittent. Do not be fooled by the pictures they put up on their website. I should have taken more pictures, but attached are a few I did take.

If this wasn't bad enough, we checked in a little past 10:00 pm just as the front desk was closing. Our reservation said check-in was open until 12:00 midnight, but they were already closing at 10:00 pm. We settled into our room, ran out to get a quick bite to eat and then returned. We turned the air conditioner on and went to bed. Unfortunately for us the air conditioner turned on, but after a while we realized it was not blowing any cold air, only hot room temperature air. Our room remained very hot and never cooled down and we could not sleep. We tried to call the motel telephone number a few times that night, but there was no answer as the front desk was closed. We did not sleep because it was so hot and we had to cancel reservations for a bicycle trip we had scheduled the next day since we were so tired and we forfeited our deposit. We spoke with the front desk in the morning and they did give us a new room. The a/c did work in this new room, but this room was just as distgusting as the first room. We asked to speak with the manager, but were told he wasn't available and he would call us. He never called us. We checked out the next day and again asked to speak with the manager. We were again told he wasn't available but he would call us which again he never did. We tried calling him a couple of times over the next few days, but kept getting the same story that he was not availble.

Needless to say our short Cape Cod vacation was ruined. We will never stay in this dump again.

Large, clean pool with new lounge chairs & 2 sets of corner couches at each end. Large lawn for playing frisbee, and at the edge there is a set of Adirondack chairs that overlooks a lagoon/marsh with ducks - very nice view. indoor pool just as nice & clean. Reception clean & very covid-aware. Room was large with the most comfortable beds we've ever slept in! nice high, poofy mattresses, but not saggy. each room had a couple of Adirondack chairs in front. Close to restaurants, including their own 50's style diner (we did not eat there but it looks nice). Overall, very nice place to stay!

I am surprised at all the bad reviews. We had a top floor room overlooking the pool. The room was immaculately clean, new carpet, comfy beds, pool was crystal clear. Bathroom had weird yellow lighting but all of the bathroom stuff was immaculate and no rust or ugly stuff. The bathroom was a lil dark in that weird yellow light way, but honestly it didn't impact our stay. I think the older rooms are the ones in the back of the parking lot where Helens Diner is. I would not stay in those rooms as I like rooms that you enter from the outside. We stayed for 1 night and it was perfectly fine. I will say when we came back from dinner there were a lot of people hanging out in the parking lot and by their cars etc. Not sure they were hotel guests, but it gave me a creepy feeling. We could hear people outside until about 11PM and then it quieted down. This place doesnt have any security or late night workers so knocking off a star for that. I would stay here again for 1 night.

Upon checking in I had to pay 100 dollars not sure what it was for. Was not told ahead of time of this charge. What If I wouldn’t of had extra 100 dollars to pay upfront? It left a bad taste in my mouth I should of been informed ahead of time of this charge

I believe the deposit is a standard everywhere that they charge in case of damage to rooms and such. When i stayed it was just on hold it was never charged and the hold was removed from my account a day after i checked out. If that helps
