We had the pleasure of staying at the Penrose Victorian Inn this past summer. Everything about it was perfect! The setting, the beautiful home, the amazingly delicious breakfasts, and the most genial and hospital hosts. It is a short drive to Tanglewood and to the many colleges nearby. It was truly a wonderful experience. All of the rooms are beautifully...

Beautiful home in lovely, peaceful setting. Good breadfasts with very friendly and accommodating host. Made us feel very welcome and at home. Loved eating breakfast on their big front porch surrounded by the trees and blooming greenery. Convenient to many nearby attractions. Hope to stay there again. Virginia and Bob

My wife and I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Penrose Victorian Inn in Haydenville and greatly enjoyed the experience. Our host Dick Zimmer was both a pleasure to speak with and very attentive. Our room was spacious, the bed was very comfortable and the attention to detail throughout the Inn was very evident. Breakfast on the porch...

We loved our stay at the Penrose Victorian Inn! Owners Dick and Nancy made us feel more like family instead of customers. The room we had and the entire inn made us feel like we had stepped back into 19th century Massachusetts but with WiFi (LoL)! It was great! Breakfasts at the inn were on the porch with specialties like...

My wife and I were booked last-minute to Penrose (because of a slip-up at another area B&B) and the owners were wonderfully accommodating. They told us all about area attractions, cooked us a fine breakfast, and had a charming collection of old instruments, including a pump organ and a melodion (which they let me play). The only possible downside for...

My wife and I stayed at the Penrose Inn on our way to visit our children in the Boston area. We were familiar with the Northampton area and decided to break up our trip with an overnight stay. I was unfamiliar with B&B's in the area and found The Penrose Inn through Trip Advisor. We had a delightful stay. Dick...

We arrived at Penrose Inn for an overnight in the Northampton area. We were greeted by Dick and taken to our room. The Inn itself seemed a little overdecorated, as was our room. I'm not someone who likes a lot of stuff everywhere. After that we were left to ourselves until breakfast. It was an unseasonably warm weekend and both...

We are sorry that several things did not meet your expectations. We certainly would have offered coffee, tea and refreshments any time if requested. Most of our guests are gone for the day with activities and often return late. Over time we have found our guests like and bring their own shampoos and lotions, and even their own soaps on...

We enjoyed our Thanksgiving weekend at the Penrose Inn while visiting our daughters in their college state. They joined us at the Inn and we had a blast. I particularly enjoyed our breakfast gatherings. It was such a pleasant experience. Dick and Nancy really love what they do and it shows. The Inn was decorated for Christmas and it put...

“All of the rooms are very lovely but not suited for young children. Definitely a more adult oriented B&B.”

“We enjoyed the Brides Room, which has a connected bath with a shower. (Not all bathrooms are connected or have showers.)”

“We were in the bridal suite, and the morning sun was definitely a wake up call. While we looked in the other rooms, and they seemed to be as big and as nice as ours. All of the rooms and bathrooms were large, and the B&B is in a very quiet area, so the only noise that might wake you is the birds greeting the morning.”

“Brides Room has a walk in shower, Painted Lady Room has a claw foot tub, Lady Purrington Room has bath with claw foot tub across the hall. All rooms have beautiful Amish quilts on the beds.”
monap883, 10 Aug 2014 | Read review
“Bride's Room and Painted Lady have connected bathrooms; Eleanor Purrington Room has private bath across the hallway. All have in-window A/C that help keep the temperature more constant than the open windows and can help to provide white noise if you're sensitive to noise (such as from the nearby road or from neighbors). Also note that all rooms are upstairs and there is no elevator, so this is not a suitable accommodation for those with mobility problems.”
