We were in Michigan on a leaf peeping road trip and stumbled across the Red Moose Lodge as we were driving up M37. The rooms were warm, clean, comfortable and charming. They serve one of the best continental breakfasts I’ve seen in a small hotel. I would highly recommend.
I was trying to make my schedule work to stay at this place and canceled to reschedule about three times, after this, they sent me a terse message asking me not to reschedule. Guess they don’t want my business too bad. I’ll take it somewhere else!
Friendly and helpful employees. Because of our plans changing we added a day to our stay and had to switch rooms for our second night and they were very helpful. Even offered to move our stuff for us to other room while we were gone enjoying ourselves. Both rooms were clean. Would definitely stay again.
We stayed one night and the room was very clean however be advised that you are under unwarranted audio and visual surveillance throughout the property. We were disappointed that the rooms did not provide a mini refrigerator and you had to purchase the ice to keep anything cold. The air conditioner was in the bathroom and was very loud not to mention musty smelling. The shampoo and conditioner supplied were partly used. The continental breakfast is all self serve. For the price it's not bad but we will not be returning.
Fun, rustic, moose, north woods gem of a local mom & pop motel. Beautifully decorated by the owners, much of which the husband, who as a talented woodworker, designed and made himself. Spacious, clean rooms. WiFI is a little spotty but that is true for the entire area as you are in the middle of a national forest. There is a continental breakfast available with coffee, juice, and pastries. The small motel is located on the shore of the Pere Marquette River with a lovely shore and fire pit available. Also a hot tub which we did not use. Would difinitely stay there again.
