Somewhere deep in the woods, a short drive from beautiful Ludinton - We were greeted at the front door by Lawrence who was more than gracious throughout our stay. He gave us a guided tour of the property, and our room was kept immaculately clean! By the time we arrived to the cabin, we were limited on daylight hours remaining. So we walked through one of the several marked trails on the 17 acres of woods. We returned to fresh coffee and intellectually stimulating conversation with the host. Our bed was cozy, with an adjoining private bathroom/shower. The following morning we stumbled up the stairs to be greeted by a table of fruits and grains, juice and coffee, and a delicious quiche! We traded stories around the table, and enjoyed meeting the other guests as well. In the afternoon, we made an abrupt decision to take a Kayak tour of the Pier Marquette River. Lawrence accommodated this request immediately, and loaded up a double kayak and drove us to the river access point. We highly recommend taking the kayaks down the river, and seeing the colors begin to change on the trees. We had beautiful weather, and fell deeper in love on this honeymoon getaway! Lawrence was there to greet us at the river exit, and brought us safely back to the cabin. It was clear to us during our stay that Lawrence and Ashley do not see this as a "business" but it is truly a passion. They care deeply about their guests, and will

I have never given a 5 star rating, but our stay rates as close as one could to being a 5. Yes, they have an array of 4 legged family members, all of which welcome you into their home and make you a part of their family. Cozy and nicely appointed.Lawrence and Ashley go above and beyond to make sure your comfortable. Any anxieties you may have regarding staying in someone else's home, quickly fade with their pleasant demeanor. The breakfasts served are all of 5 stars.

Lawrence and Ashley were gracious and incredibly polite hosts, who make absolutely certain that their guests feel comfortable and happy while staying at Aubert Den. The home is located on 17 wooded acres, about 25 minutes from Ludington. The rooms are clean and well-kept, with all the amenities and comfort of a hotel but with a homey feel. The breakfast was excellent, with lots of interesting conversation and positivity to start the day. We will absolutely be back to visit!!

We had never stayed in a B&B in which the owners lived in the home, so we really didn't know what to expect. Lawrence and Ashley were great hosts. We had lots of privacy, and the accommodations were very cozy and comfortable. The B&B is in the Huron-Manistee Forest, and is very peaceful and quiet. Breakfast was delicious, and we appreciated their accommodating our late riser schedule. I hope we'll have occasion to stay there again!

Based on the pictures in Trip Advisor, BnB, and Google Earth this place looked really nice. When we arrived we were a little shocked. Out front was several dog cages and one dog. In addition there was a stack of logs about 10' long and stacked 8' high. The place looked a little unkept. We actually called to be sure we were in the right place. Once inside there were 4 more dogs on the back porch, a pup in a cage in the living room, and another in a kennel in the back yard. Inside was a black cat that was anxious to greet people and a small Pomeranian dog. The animals were reasonably trained and friendly. Their ad read no pets, we have our own but we weren't prepared to find they raise Airedales. Our rooms were in the lower portion of the house and the rooms themselves are nice with a good size bathroom and shower. Since the owners also live in the house we felt a little confined to the lower portion of the house although they welcomed us to use the upstairs. Upstairs had comfortable seating and the dining room. Downstairs had an antique love seat and 4 chairs. None that were very comfortable and I would be afraid if a big person sat on them. It didn't matter too much since we spent most our time exploring Ludington and Manistee. Breakfast was very good. One thing that would have been nice is to have access to coffee and/or tea in the morning. We had to wait for the owners to make coffee which wasn't until we were close to the 9 am breakfast. It would have been nice to have a drink station down stairs, either a Kurieg or a small coffee maker. The owners are very friendly and interesting people with a few improvements this could be a high rated place to stay.
