Have been to Headlands several times for extended family celebrations. This latest visit with my mother and my son when we enjoyed a chicken dish with melted cheese - yummy was the verdict! Starter of garlic bread was nice as were the flst whites. Keep up the good work.

We booked 5 nights at this hotel ourselves based on local recommendation from family. We were made very welcome by the staff (especially Nolene) although we were served breakfast on the first day by a very sullen individual almost to the point of being rude! We had negotiated a reduced rate for the honeymoon suite as we were staying 5...

Attending a friends 50th birthday celebration took us to the coastal Taranaki settlement of Opunake. Selection of accommodation was abit random but took us to the Headlands Hotel where we stayed in what they called the villa. The rooms were superb, the breakfast was delicious and the service although not sensational, was more than adequate for what we were after....

Disappointed to arrive and realise that our room was in the separate accommodation in the middle of the carpark rather than in the 'tower' building above the restaurant. Room was very clean - however the only view was of the carpark. The building was soulless, and felt very much like an afterthought. There was no way to leave the window...

Thank you for taking the time to give us your feedback. We are sorry to hear that you were disappointed with your stay. An upgrade to the tower would have been possible for an additional cost. All of our rooms have air conditioning units to keep the rooms cool in summer and warm in winter. Sadly we are unable to...

From the smooth response when taking our booking, to the final goodbye after a memorable dinner, this restaurant exceeded expectations. Table numbers are limited, so be sure to reserve your meal. Attention was swift, food and wine selection excellent, and this was a culinary experience that delivered on quality. We left as completely satisfied customers. Highly recommended.

A surprise getaway for my partners birthday. Room was in the square building beside the main building. Was a little disappointed with the room. Quite noisy during the night with the fridge noise, Light aircon taking a long time to shut off. Toilet seat not fixed properly. I did mention this to reception and it was recorded. People need to...

Whilst staying at the nearby campsite, we came here on a very wet and windy new years eve and were surprised to get a table - some late cancellations doing us a favour since the alternatives in town were not that appealing. The interior of the restaurant was a little dated and the carpets could do with a clean, but...

Thank you so much for taking the time to review us, we appreciate all feedback received. We are so glad we were able to find you a table and that you enjoyed your meal. The pork belly was very popular (it was a special at the time) and the fish and chips is an all time favourite. Thank you once...

We picked Headlands Hotel, Opunake, from a random search and felt like it was a real lucky break. Staff were all so friendly and helpful, food was fantastic and we really enjoyed our stay. We are a Whangarei couple in our fifties, doing a "Road Trip" around the North Island, staying at a different location each night.
