Traveled 10 hours on the road to get here and just passing through. Made reservations for this Holiday Inn over a week ago. Checked in....desk staff couldn't find my info, etc. After a bit, she saw that I did the digital check-in and all paperwork and room keys were two her left on the counter. Looking forward to using the pool and hot tub after a long day, but the pool and tub area was closed....unsure when it will re-open....due to covid? Really? I travel all over....all of the time and this is the first place to close the pool area because of covid. If this is the fact, put it on your website....I would have booked a room elsewhere that had the pool area available. Pretty simple! Tile area near the fridge/sink area is loose and makes noise when walking on it. Door stop in main room door is pushed through the wall. The morning breakfast attendant was nowhere to be found the entire time I was in there eating. Fridge in breakfast area had sign on the door to ask the attendant for yogurt, butter, etc., if you needed something that should have been in the broken fridge, but no attendant was found. I shouldn't have to walk to the front desk to ask for a yogurt. Seats in the breakfast area were all pretty much stained and nasty....they're worried about covid.....how about catching something from the dirty seating? Maybe all of these things help to explain only about 10 cars in the lot all night. Anyway, I am in the Lansing area often and will certainly not stay here again. Make sure to stay elsewhere.....there truly are plenty of wonderful places to stay.

Being a semi driver, I often have the “displeasure” of visiting hotels on a weekly basis. This hotel, however, has this REALLY kind and considerate employee named Sandy. I woke up around 4am and headed down to get my truck ready for the day. I didn’t expect to see breakfast, so it was a VERY PLEASANT surprise to hear “good morning, you and your guys want some breakfast? I’m not yet ready but I have this and I’ll be happy to warm up something for you.” Amazing, that made the whole crew’s day. And she didn’t stop there... “you guys have masks?” “Well, I do, but I lost it somewhere in my rush to get out”, I answered. “That’s ok, I have these mask kits that you and your guys can have, so if you guys stop somewhere you’ll have them”, Sandy told me. This kind of kindness brings me back to my Southern Courtesy I grew up with from when I was a kid living on a farm in Florida. I bet if the front door wasn’t automatic, Sandy would’ve held it open for us! Thank you Sandy for your Southern Courtesy.

I get that we are traveling during a strange time with the pandemic, but a little better communication would have been nice. Our room was bare bones- 2 towels for 3 people, exactly one Keurig pod for the coffee maker, no pillows for the pull out bed, one make up remover wipe (sorry about the towel on day 2). Breakfast was "take out" but even that was an overstatement because everything was walled off and you had to find someone to hand you a box of cereal or pour your coffee (no cream or sugar and no choices on the cereal either). We were gone all day and returned to find our room uncleaned. Apparently they are only cleaning every 5th day now?! Ok that's fine, but had I known I may have encouraged my teenager to hang up his towel instead of leaving it on the floor. The second morning would have been nice to be able to make a cup of coffee but of course the Keurig pod was not replenished. Overall the hotel was fine for what we needed it for and the lady at the front desk was very kind, although she appeared a bit uncomfortable standing 6 feet behind the plexiglass and putting on gloves to touch my credit card. If you are planning to be open during this time, I suggest a little better training for your staff to inform your clients on what should be expected.

Hello jmbistan! Thank you for your time and effort to give your thoughts and for staying in our hotel. I’m sorry to hear that you weren’t satisfied with our room upkeep and housekeeping rules. We are all about efficient and frictionless stays, and I’m worried that you found our in-room supplies insufficient. Please understand that some of our hotels are operating with a reduced workforce, services, and amenities. These updates are temporary. We are hoping to go back to normal operations soon. You can find our about the relaxed brand standards on our Travel Advisory https://bit.ly/391Wbn7. Please trust as well that our hotels are well-equipped with training and additional COVID-19 guidelines to ensure the safety of our employees and guests. The review of our visitors helps us in creating action plans for improvement. I went ahead and relayed yours to our management team and housekeeping department about your comments. I hope you’d reopen your door for us to have the chance to make it up to you. Stay safe, Leni C. Case Manager IHGService

I was visiting the Charlotte area with a friend of mine over a weekend in March 2020 and we spent a Saturday night at this Holiday Inn Express. Overall, we were pretty satisfied with it. It's definitely an older property though. We arrived at around 3:30 on Saturday afternoon. Our check-in process went well, and our room (#308) was clean and comfortable. No complaints at all. I appreciated the fact that there's a business center computer in the lobby area (well, in the breakfast area actually), so I was able to catch up on my social media. Plus we appreciated the pool and hot tub, but our only complaint about that is that there are not nearly enough tables and chairs in the pool area. There were quite a few people in the pool area when my friend and I were using it, but all the tables and chairs were occupied so we had to put our towels/shirts/room keys on the floor which we didn't like at all. They need more tables and chairs in the pool area for guests. Breakfast in the morning was quite acceptable with a good variety of standard Holiday Inn Express breakfast fare... including their famous cinnamon rolls! Overall we had a good stay. I would have no qualms about staying here again.

Great service. I left my toilet kit in the bathroom. I called and they said they would mail it to me! I didn’t believe they really would. But I actually received it in the mail yesterday! Thank you so much.
