Just stopped here last night, the food was great but the room was terrible, out dated and very poor for the cost we booked through secret escapes and think they should keep his place secret, wouldn't go again
Stayed for two nights to walk Scafell Pike. We chose this hotel mainly due to its location which was only a couple of miles from the start of our planned organised walk up Scafell Pike. It was definitely a good decision, the hotel is lovely...More
The hotel was absolutely fantastic and the hotel owners have obviously paid a lot of attention to detail. The food was stunning and the staff were friendly whilst being professional.
Can’t fault the hotel and wouldn’t hesitate to go back . Superb location also.

We would also recommend that you avoid this room for the same reasons. On our second night we asked to be moved to a quieter room. We paid a premium price for the original room so we were very surprised that it was so noisy with people smoking right below our window, then noise from the bar. I didn't get to sleep until 2am because the staff were moving tables and chairs around and clearing up from the night before. If you want peace and quiet we were moved to a room in the annexe and I think that was room 23
