Stayed 1 night...off to Lansing and then returned for 3 more nights....and was impressed with both! The team that helped us on arrival was helpful and not "pushy" as one sometimes finds...the reception staff and those attending to the offered breakfast were cheerful and helpful...and even house keeping was great... The room seemed to be recently renovated and the bed...

Let me start by saying that the hotel does several things really well. I stayed here for a Lions game and the location could not be beat. Easy walk to the stadium and several other venues. This also happened to be the weekend of the Detroit Marathon and the place was booked solid. Despite the crush of people trying to...

Stayed at the hotel the night of the pearl jam concert. It was located within walking distance of joe Louis arena. Breakfast was very good, only complaint was that the elevators were very slow and need upgrading. Sometimes took as long as 10 minutes just to get on one.

Stayed here one night for a concert. The rooms were clean, location was close to the Joe, and the breakfast was solid. Great coffee. The staff was incredible. Just down to earth nice people. Super friendly and willing to help.

Decided at the last minute to book this hotel to catch Orioles vs Tigers ALDS game. Have never been to Detroit before and sorry to say we'll probably never return. Not too much to do and the city itself is pretty depressing. But this hotel has nothing to apologize for. Great location for all of the sport venues and the...

Hotel is a little dated but rooms are clean and the staff is great. Good place to stay and go to the games. Short walk to Ford Field and Comerica Park. Would stay here again if back in town. Restaurants are in walking distance. Casino is in walking distance. m

We stayed here as part of a group for an event downtown. Detroit surprised us all as the downtown has the potential to make a very quick turnaround, as all I've ever heard has been negative. This hotel is a great downtown choice as it is well situated being only 1 block from the downtown people mover and the property...

Downtown Detroit was like a post apocalyptic wasteland, a ghost town with very few people, little in the way of shops and bars. I was in town for a Tigers game and on that basis this Holiday Inn Was a good choice, an older building my room was clean and well kept with a good bathroom, modern facilities etc. The...

As other reviewers have noted, this is an older property; the building is from the 1960's. However, to me this was an advantage rather than a disadvantage. I found the building to be solidly constructed, without the flimsy, paper-thin walls so often found in newer properties. To me, it was a bit of a nostalgic trip to the past, when...
