Looking at the pics you can see the linen still tucked in from when they made the bed. Absolutely disgusting. The 1 star is because they don’t allow 0 stars.
When I booked this hotel the front desk never informed me about a strike that is going on at the hotel and casino. We had to leave the hotel on 3 separate occasions and we got yelled at by the striking workers. Also with the workers being on strike the poker room and spa are closed along with other services and the hotel gift shop.
I also booked the stay and play package and was supposed to get $40 of free credit to play with at the hotel but they don’t tell you that you have to go sign up for their casino card and provide them with all of your personal information. It took well over an hour because there was only 1 worker working the desk at the casino. Definitely not worth the $40.
Also at check in we waited just over 45 mins to check in because of only one worker at the front desk trying to check in everybody.
I called the front desk in the morning and the hotel manager “Frank or Fred” did not care about any of my concerns and would not provide me with a discount on our room knowing full well that the hotel was not operating at 100% with many amenities of the hotel being closed because of the strike. Would have been nice to get a discount or a free night when hotel is operating at 100%. I told the manager that I would not return to this hotel and he basically said ok that’s fine and hung up. Never seen such unprofessional hotel manager in my life.
My friends and family go to Detroit for NHL,MLB,NFL and concerts and this manger has lost our business. I will be spreading the word on this hotel. What a shame because we did like this hotel having stayed here multiple times until running into this hotel manager.

This was in a Deluxe Suite, yet it came with a poor parking lot view, which added to my disappointment. As a national executive who travels extensively, this is the first review I’ve ever written in 25 years of hotel stays.
I was hoping to hear from management with an apology or, at the very least, an offer for a one-day room stay as a gesture to show that my experience was an isolated issue. Unfortunately, I never received a call or email. Based on my experience and other reviews I’ve read, it seems guest concerns are not a priority.
A word of caution: think carefully before choosing this location.
Don't make the same mistake I did.
Pick one of the many cheaper and higher quality options in the area.
Charged $300 per night for luxury experience and every luxury offering was closed for the entire 3 night stay.
All restaurants closed, spa closed, no room service, no microwave to reheat food we had to buy outside of hotel. No shuttle service. Walls extremely thin. Lost entire night of sleep due to overnight party next door. Hairs not cleaned from bedding. Carpets stained everywhere. Toiletries not restocked. Employees blocked access to parking. Front desk ignored my call to seek resolution. VP ignored my voicemail to seek resolution. Do yourself a favor, never stay at the Motor City Casino Hotel.
