The DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Detroit - Dearborn garners frequent compliments for its spotless premises and inviting atmosphere, including a grand foyer and a clean pool. Guests appreciate the attentive and professional service, although a few mention occasional shuttle service miscommunications. The hotel's location is celebrated for its convenience to downtown and event suitability.
While the rooms are recognized for their cleanliness, some guests feel the decor is somewhat dated. Opinions on value and amenities vary, with praise for the hotel's staff and dining juxtaposed against remarks about older-looking facilities.

Great hotel. Good for events and just for over nights.
My work formally used a lot of the event rooms and the hotel does well at making sure you have all that you need. Lattice and MiMi knock it out of the park.
My wife and I just stayed there for a staycation, first time actually staying there. Rooms are nice, clean. Lattice made sure we were taken care of.
The owner is very kind and does well at making sure the hotel is up to standard

I always travel for business and first time I came to the front desk the people were warm and welcoming. They made sure I am getting the room of my choice. The rooms are clean and beds are comfortable. This Double Tree hotel is very well maintained and staff is always ready to provide you everything to make your stay comfortable. One late night my keys were not working and Mayak came up to my room personally to give keys to me. They have a grand main lobby, great decor and nice photos of car manufacturing revolution. This property has good restaurant on site and has great breakfast, lunch and dinner options. There is on-site bar and servers free appetizers on certain days. The General Manager - Jassi Ahluwalia is always welcoming and personally makes sure you are provided with best room and floor options. I know lot of hotels wants to charge you for bottle of water but there is always free bottle of water in your room. Finally the location of the hotel is great and all staff members are helpful. Even though I am Marriott Platinum Elite member but I like to stay at this Double Tree rather than the any Marriott hotels this area. This is really nice and comfortable place to stay and has all amenities at the facility to make your stay great.

We decided to stay at this hotel as my daughter has a cheer competition at the TCF Convention center and we wanted a hotel that had a pool and hot tub.
The lobby is beautifully designed. The front desk individuals were very friendly and nice, received my benefits without having to ask.
Room was clean and tiddy. Water in the shower was hot and lovely.
We wanted to use the pool but their was a group of hockey teams in the hotel and they were over taking the area and some were not being respectful.
Breakfast is as expected and it was yummy! Restaurant staff was friendly and ready to lend a hand or answer a question when needed.
I would like to stay were again but unsure if there is going to be a group of kids. I wish there was an adult time for the pool and hot tub vs having to get up really early to use it.
The main issue I experienced and was not handled the best was that the room I selected via the app was not supposed to be connecting and it was. When I contacted the staff they could have cared less in helping rectify it or even contact Hilton to let them know their is an issue with the room selection.
Overall the experience was Good/OK. Most of the employees were friendly, happy and chatty which is great and good to experience.

Where do I start..... The lobby is nice and has been updated, and the beds are not too bad. BUT the restaurant is over priced and understaffed, the breakfast buffet is $15 per PERSON and basically a fancy continental breakfast with horrible eggs, dried out bacon and sausage and boxed pastries.
A large portion of the hotel is occupied by long term refugees that have commandeered the hallways, microwaves, main lobby areas, they like smoking in the stairwells and clog the outside areas - also smoking. The hallways all smell of deep curry spices mixed with bad body odor, thankfully the room we were in did not. I saw multiple situations making it clear these folks are not staying for the weekend, they have been here for months and months. They carry huge loads of groceries into their rooms, leave their trash outside their doors in the hotel hallways, and sit in the workout facilities and watch the kids swim in the pool - Super Creepy.
On that exact point, one of the older refugees who is constantly in the common areas, was consistently staring at my 13 year old daughter. The first time I told him to stop, the second time I got a little louder and included the security guard, and the 3rd time when he reached out for her after her pool area exit, I took matters into my own hands and forced him to stop. The man is lucky I was with other children and had to react accordingly. I took these 3 events to the hotel management and their response was respectable but it seemed this was a common occurrence based on their responses and lack of severe reaction to a potential pedophilia attempt.
We were here for a hockey tournament, and have made our issues clear to the tournament staff and they will no longer use this hotel to house their teams and I will NEVER stay at this hotel or any other Double Tree based on these events. I spoke to other patrons at the hotel, some of whom have been staying here for years as a work based middle point for their travels and they stated that this issue has gotten a lot worse in the last year or so and they also will change all future reservations to other hotels in the area. This place is NOT a hotel but a long term transitioning location for fleeing refugees from Afghanistan and the middle east. Now everyone has their place in life and I commend these folks for trying to make their life better by coming to America, BUT a better transitional location would better serve the Hotel patrons AND the refugees who are trying to better their life. I am sure as a general theme they all mean no harm, the children and woman were very nice, saying hi in the hallways and even holding doors at times so that part was great, but the older men whom we had issues with many of, need to get used to the American way and not subject children to their perversions. Corporate Hilton needs to visit this hotel and correct the issues or soon enough all patrons will chose other nearby locations!

Dear valued guest, Thank you for your feedback about your stay. We are sorry that you were faced with these complications. We understand your frustration, and wanted to clarify about our long-term guests. We do not have any refugees at our hotel. We do have long-term guests who have been brought in by the United States Government due to their heroism fighting alongside United States soldiers. From a humanitarian point of view, we decided as a team, that temporarily housing these guests would be the least we could do. They are transient and only staying for a temporary period. They are working alongside the State and Federal Government while searching for their new homes in this great State of Michigan. We do apologize that your encounters with guests at the property were uncanny, and we take this matter very seriously. As a property with nearly 350 rooms, running at full occupancy, it can be challenging at times to interact and monitor all guests. We appreciate you defining your concerns, and will take these into consideration while making improvements to our property. We now currently have not only our personal security staff on site 24-hours a day, but also a second security company as well. Making sure our guests feel comfortable and safe at all times is our top priority. Sincerely,

Long story short, Delta messed up and we missed our connecting flight. Ali at Doubletree by Hilton Hotel Detroit-Dearborn was about as professional as could be. He was patient as there were about 50 people checking into the hotel at the same time. He was curious when we had 100 questions for him and he was giving when he realized we didn't have our toothpaste or toothbrushes. I can't speak any higher of Ali and the team there!

I spend 100+ nights per year in all brands of Hilton properties. Additionally my company has required me to travel during the entire pandemic. I totally understand the challenges to providing hospitality and changes in service levels due to the pandemic.
The good stuff:
All staff I interacted with were professional and friendly.
My room looked/smelled clean. The bed, linens and pillows are excellent.
Areas of disappointment:
No diamond status upgrade for a mid week stay?
Even with some recent updating, there's considerable visible wear and tear in public areas and my guest room. Drop ceilings and light fixtures need to be cleaned and/or replaced. Elevator banks are extremely dated, beaten up and smell bad. My guest room bathroom ceiling had major water damage that was poorly repaired and sloppily painted over. Telephones and lamp shades in my guest room were permanently stained; need to be replaced.
Dinner and breakfast food quality was below average.
I inquired about the airport shuttle the day before my arrival. Was told it's not available due to the pandemic. However I saw it running. I asked at the front deck. Was told two different things by two people. Something about by appointment only and it needed to be scheduled ahead of time which I would of been happy to due either. $75.00 later wasted on Ubor.

Hello, Thank you for your feedback about your stay with us. We are glad that our staff was professional when speaking. Since the pandemic our property has had a bit of a slow on room sales as you can imagine. That being said, we decided it would be a good time to begin renovating rooms. Our property only has 5 suites (one on every floor from 2-6) and those rooms were the first to get renovated. We apologize that those upgrades were not available for you, and that this information was not properly relayed at check-in. Continuing on to the state of the rooms, we are planning to renovate the entire property over the course of the next few years. This includes work to the elevators, guests rooms, and electronics. Let me provide some clarification on the status of our airport shuttle: starting in March of 2020 our shuttle service was halted due to the pandemic and state regulations. This included guests, companies, and staff use. Recently, some of the limitations have been lifted. The shuttle is now running for our partners who have the shuttle as part of their contract ONLY. This excludes any guest or staff usage. For example, our property houses airline staff from multiple different airlines. Their contracts were signed with shuttle usages included, therefore we are now required to take them. I hope this information helps some. We hope to see you again in the future, and wish you safe travels.

So I was going to give this hotel a 1 star but i decided to give it a 3 star. So first off most of the staff were friendly and no complaints there. The computer did have trouble when I was trying to check in so it took me about 30 minutes to complete after a long trip which was frustrating but that’s what happens when you have old systems or slow internet idk but it’s not the staff’s problem. So when I got in the room I noticed the bathroom wasn’t properly cleaned and both shampoos and conditioner was completely empty. I informed staff and was told a manager would get back to me when he’s available. Couple hours later I went to the front desk to see and the female (sorry forgot her name) was very kind but nothing much she can do but give me a couple small shampoo bottles and conditioners. Was told to wait a few minutes till her manager(Yusuf I believe) was free. After speaking with him he informed me he’d have to speak with management in the morning which was confusing because I thought he was one of the managers. Unfortunately it seemed like he wasn’t sympathetic at all and pretty much got the brush off. I was really pissed and decided to never book at this hotel or any hotel that is owned by this chain ever again. So morning comes and I went to check out and was meet by the real manager named Aubrey. He sensed I wasn’t satisfied with the stay and when he asked what happened I pretty much told him no point in complaining because I already spoke with the night manager and no good came out of it. When he insisted on me telling him what happened he seemed really upset at the situation so he did what he could to fix the situation and made sure I didn’t leave with the intention of never coming back, now that’s what you call a real manager. So to make a long story longer. Would I stay at this hotel again? Possibly yes. Do I think the hotel needs improvement? Absolutely! I can’t speak on all the rooms but definitely the room I was in needs major upgrades/updates. Also the bedding needs replacing. You can see it’s falling apart, the pillows were uncomfortable and so flat that it feels like barely anything is inside the pillow covers. Hopefully corporate decides to spend some money to upgrade this location and replace some things so the guest feels it was worth the almost $200/night stay.

I was put in this hotel by Delta Airlines once they cancelled my flight. After waiting for almost 6 hours at the Airport, I was extremely tired. So me and my fellow passengers were expecting another line ups at the hotel and long wait to check in.
Once we reached the hotel, I was really impressed by the huge and amazing lobby with a waterfall. Check in process was brisk . It was so good to see the Hotel Manager Mr. Maynk Toprani talking to every guests assuring the speedy check in and arranging the ride back to the airport the next day. It was real impressive to see him and his Front Desk staff sympathizing with our problems. Mr. Toprani really impressed all of us with his conduct and professionalism.
Once I went to my room, I noticed two bottles of water and when I called the desk I was told they were complimentary. I was really relieved that the hotel management was not charging for the water. Room was of good size and clean. They had a big flat screen TV, Fridge, Coffee Maker and Iron and Iron Board in the room but no Microwave. I also tried their Breakfast Buffet thanks to meal voucher from Delta which was okay. But again I noticed Manager Mr. Toprani was making sure we all get in to the hotel shuttle back to the Airport. What a glimps of a fresh air to see the Hotel Manager who cared for every guest! I wish more Hotel Managers and even Delta Airlines learn the customer service from this amazing gentleman.
I would definitely recomend this hotel to everyone to enjoy the hospitality of Mr. Toprani and his team.

We had reservations since Nov. to attend a convention. We arrived at 4:30 pm on Feb 23 and waited for over 12 hours to get a room. Management kept stringing us along saying it would be just 2 more hours until our room was clean and ready. After a fire alarm, which took over an hour, standing outside in the cold, half of the staff disappeared! After waiting for 6 hours, we asked to make our own beds in empty rooms ourselves rather than wait any longer, but this was refused. We were told by the front desk clerk this situation was because of an ice storm and people had stayed over and refused to leave. Finally at 2 AM the convention security head begged hotel management for pillows and blankets so we could bunk down on the floor in the lobby and meeting rooms. My husband and I are disabled so this was very uncomfortable. He needs a ventilator / C-PaP so fortunately he had access to electricity. There were over 30 people waiting all night for their rooms. Some were elderly, handicapped, or families with small children. We were given $15 off drinks in the lounge but offered no other compensation. We finally got our room at 4:30 AM. This was bad for me because I had to give a presentation for the convention early that morning. We found then that the fifth floor was mostly empty. Cleaners said they had just come to work on the day shift. It turns out there were rooms available but not enough staff to clean and prepare them. The hotel was severely understaffed for most of the weekend. Bartender Mr. Tyrone went above and beyond to serve people long after his shift was over. The hotel staff that were there worked hard and did a great job. This was really bad planning when the hotel managers knew they had a convention of 500- 600 people for the weekend.

My wife and I stayed at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Detroit - Dearborn between Sunday August 28 and Friday September 2. We are Hilton Honors members and so we stayed in the Hilton Honors section of the hotel.
The room had been recently renovated. It was modern and clean. The hallways were well lit, nicely decorated and the floor runners were relatively new. The staff at the front desk, bar and restaurant was helpful and friendly. We used the free shuttle service to visit The Henry Ford complex. It arrived on-time. We also ate breakfast and dinner at the restaurant. The breakfast is served buffet-style and there was a very nice variety of things to eat.
We had to ask a couple of times to have the housekeeping staff to refresh the room, but they personally delivered towels and trash removal service when we asked them to.
