When you are staying in the Saugatuck area, downtown Saugatuck can be hectic. That is why it was wonderful to stay over on the quiet side in Douglas at this B&B. It is only about a 5 minute drive to downtown Saugatuck (in fact, it is closer than if you stay many places in Saugatuck), and is 1/2 block from...

Very comfortable and relaxing - the home is beautifully decorated -filled with antiques and oriental carpets, and a great breakfast as well. Excellent location. A short walk to several good restaurants and a an easy drive to Saugatuck. Would have loved to stay for several days.

We have stayed here several times and it is outstanding. Breakfast is delicious and substantial. The rooms are well appointed and there are nice linens and towels. The gardens are lovely, as is the screened in porch. The host is amazing. They have set the bar for b&b's for us!

I am not quite sure how I am expected to go back to life as normal when I was spoiled by the beauty and peace of The Douglas House!! -Location - perfect...right in downtown Douglas and a nice walk into in Saugatuck. You get the fun of Saugatuck w/out being right in the busyness. -Charm - as soon as you...

We stayed for two nights a couple weeks before season in the Brown House across from main house which was in final stages of bedroom renovation. Rick provided a warm welcome and introduced us to a beautiful 1850s house filled with beautiful array of furniture, art and decorations. Not being officially open this week we weren't expecting breakfast yet there...

This is an 1903 boarding house with lots of character and very nice owners. Location is about half a mile from Lake Michigan. Room was dated but comfortable. Breakfast was average with good fresh fruit. The grounds were very nice.

The Douglas House B&B deserves the six 5-star reviews preceding mine. Most B&Bs in the U.S. are good, in our opinion, or very good. Then there is the the tier above that, the special ones, where it becomes a great experience (without being a perfect one; perfect lodging is not something to aspire to). This is in that group. This...

This is by far one of the cutest, most comfortable and accommodating b& bs I've ever had the pleasure to use. The breakfast is delicious, ample and hot. The location is convenient, and quiet although just off the business district.

I stayed here with my husband and 83 year old mother last week, and have only praise for this quaint, home from home bed and breakfast. we had the Green room, and my mum the blue room. Both where very comfortable and immaculately decorated, as was the whole of the house. The owners Ken and Richard where great hosts, and...

This was our first bed and breakfast experience, and we couldn't have been happier. Ken & Richard were incredibly welcoming right from the get go! We stayed in the Lavender Room with a private bath (it is down the hall). While the room was small, it had everything we needed including a super comfy and gorgeous four-poster bed. Breakfast was...

“We loved the Lavender Room - Even though the private bath was down the hall, we heard from other travelers that our bathroom was huge in comparison (in comparison to the Blue Room bath in particular). You can't go wrong really - they have clearly took special attention to make the beds incredibly comfortable.”
