This was my first visit to The Homestead. I was a little concerned by a few reviews that complained about room conditions and service but kept an open mind. We stayed at Fiddlers Pond. Our party had 2 rooms, one with a terrace over looking...More
We stayed in the Great Lakes area and the room was very, very clean (my wife is a clean freak). The kitchen was fully stocked with pots, pans, appliances..........everything that you need except for the food. We had access to excellent firewood and everything needed...More
My husband and I went here for a weekend getaway. It was our first time staying at Homestead. We knew that nothing much was open there yet since it was off -season so that didn't surprise us. The room at Little Belle was nice but...More

I think that Little Belle is romantic with views of a small pond. But Fiddlers Pond ( the least expensive) is also nice. We've stayed everywhere and we're able to find romance in all of them! Yes, this place is a little unkempt on the outside of the rooms as this resort is on the water and in the woods. The grounds are beautiful! I hope you enjoy your trip. Every place we've been to whether here or somewhere else, there is trouble finding people to work. They do they're best here with that problem. Some of the restaurants were unable to open last year due to the lack of help. But it's like that everywhere in Florida ( where we live in the winter) also.
