We stayed in the main house. Our room was very large with a king size bed, two chairs and table and a chest of drawers. We enjoyed the breakfast while dining on the side porch. In walking distance to downtown, all the restaurants.

Was in Harbor Springs for a wedding and found this hotel to be lovely. The setting is beautiful and surrounded by gorgeous million dollar homes on the water. Walking distance to shopping and restaurants

Stayed in the main building (#2) for two nights. The staff was neither friendly or unfriendly. We thought we had reserved a room with a balcony, but our room had none. There seemed to be three seperate buildings, the other two buildings had small balconies. Cons: Air conditioning didn't work well, weird smell in the outdated lobby, couches in room...

We are sorry that the air conditioning in room #2 didn't work well we have since replaced that unit, our lobby is not to be considered to be outdated but historic, we are the Historic Colonial Inn and are thriving to preserve the past. Our building was built in 1894.

Very accommodating for my last minute mini vacation. Even though the room was tiny and we had a locked door adjacent to the next rooms bathroom, it was clean and people were friendly. Short drive from Petoskey with beautiful surroundings. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a nice place to stay in this area.

I've stayed in a number of rooms which all were recently renovated, and were very comfortable, but varied in size and cost. This is a classic northern Michigan summer only hotel...in a beautiful area of Harbor Springs. Complementary breakfast. Walking/biking distance to town. Pool with a small exercise room and hottub. Very nice stay.

The Colonial Inn is a slice of paradise. The rooms are incredibly clean, boast lots of closet space, fireplace for cool summer evenings and quiet surroundings. A wonderful location in the middle of a community full of stately turn of the century homes along Little Traverse Bay brings out the nostalgic twinge of days gone by. The Inn is a...

The Colonial Inn was a great place to spend a couples getaway. It was clean, quiet and a nice walk from downtown Harbor Springs! Their wifi is pretty spotty, so don't count on it. There is a TV, but no DVD. Harbor Springs is an awesome city, with lots to do! We will definitely come back here!

Stopped here for the evening during our month long USA tour. We were given a room in a section being remodeled, which was perfect for us. Nobody else was in this building, just us. Newly remodeled room, large, clean, fireplace, a front porch with parking, and a back patio with french doors overlooking the green courtyard and main hotel. A...

We stayed in a two bedroom, second floor unit. It had clearly just been remodeled and was barely dry! It was perfection! We were unable to get separate rooms due to lack of availability, but there were doors on both rooms so it was very private. The shared bathroom was very nice with a Jacuzzi and shower. The photo on...
