We have stayed at this hotel possibly 40 times before was Dunes Express. Always happy, great service. Ever since was bought out has been a nitemare. Booking more than one room at time is more than staff can handle. One time they want everyone staying in room names, however when checking in it confuses them. I have had them swipe my card in front of me, then use a different card to actually charge the room. They didnt even care of the mistakes they made. I took my neice for her birthday, they gave her a room that was full of children and offered to kick them out and clean "fast" during covind..I DONT THINK SO. They can never get bookings right. We have had them charge wrong room for roll a ways, pets, etc. The room was not cleaned for 3 nites, left a paper on floor in plan site to see if they would pick it up, never moved. I have tried to give them benefit of doubt thinking would get better after time, but we are done. We bring usually 3 to 5 rooms there once a month during season. but they have lost our business . They dont care because of being a tourist town, they can always book. They even lied and said they would have manager call due to all our problems, but they never did.

Wife and I did a weekend trip to the dunes and stayed here. The hotel is older and little dated but clean, well kept and staff was very nice. Will stay here again in the future. Dog friendly with a large dog area.

Nice and clean. Pet friendly. Breakfast marginal. Nice staff. Pool was a bit wild. Lots of visitors smoking weed right outside doors. Realize it’s legal in Michigan, but come on. I had kids with me. I felt like considering location away from dunes and location it was a bit pricey.

I stayed here while I was on a business trip. I arrived on Friday night very late and I found hairs in the bathroom. I was very tired so I just called the receptionist and asked to please clean the room next day. Saturday, they just took the trash out but they did not make the bed or clean the room. Again, I came late from work very late and I just did not say anything. Saturday, I came late at night from work and the room was not clean, bed was not made and a bunch of little flies in the bathroom. I called the reception and she did not help and stated that she could not came up to see the conditions of the room because she was only a receptionist. She never apologized or came up to see the room. Terrible customer service. This lady should not be working if she is just the receptionist and she cannot address any issues like this at the hotel. She also stated that the ladies are only supposed to take the trash out and change towels..really??? I asked for a full refund and again she said she could not do anything. She sent the manager of the cleaning ladies and she was very embarrassed of seeing the flies and the conditions of the room. I work for a big company and we will NEVER use this place again and I will report this situation to my work so that they can get reimburse. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE.
