Kudos to all of the staff for keeping a historic inn on the map! I am grateful once again. Last week was my fifth stay at Lakeside Inn. We were welcomed warmly and made to feel at home by the fireplace, on the classic porch, and other common spaces. My room was clean, basic, and comfortable. I am accepting of...

We made an off-season visit...our second visit to Lakeside Inn from Chicago this year. The Inn is a historic inn restored to the style and decor of the 1920's. It has a private beach and a fantastic porch with rocking chairs and swings, as well as a great lobby. Plan to sit and relax a while. Rooms are comfy, but...

We love the SW Michigan area. It's an easy drive from Chicago - only 90 minutes or so depending where you start. Stayed Thanksgiving weekend because they have a decent 2 for 1 special. The special runs all non-summer season. The inn was about half full. It contained overflow from families that were celebrating the holiday in the nearby beach...

I stayed here recently with a group of friends. We chose the Inn based on its location and historic status. While we enjoyed our stay, I'm not sure I would return based on the condition of the rooms. First, the common areas were lovely. We enjoyed an evening by the fire in the ballroom, and they had board games and...

We recently stayed again at the Lakeside Inn after a seven year absence. This time we had a corner room overlooking the street and lake which was smaller and quieter than the room we shared last time. We enjoyed the walk down to the lovely and relatively unpopulated stretch of beach and this time strolled around the pond in the...

My husband and I have stayed in many old and charming places all over the country. This place IS old, but absolutely not charming, unless you enjoy a strong urine smell in your room! First off... The front desk staff seem to care less about speaking to you and seem bothered by any questions you may have. Secondly...our room was...

I love going to Lakeside in the off-season, when you can stay 2 nights for the price of one. I usually go for a couple of days after Thanksgiving. But it turns out that you can go for Thanksgiving, or for Christmas, or for New Year's Eve -- the last one, I did. Dave (who prepares breakfast for inn visitors)...

We've been coming here for years. It is not for everyone. Quaint, rustic, not a lot of amenities but we love it. Innkeepers leave at night so guests have keys to enter hotel after hours. Beach access is across the street with lots of steps. No restaurant on site, but there is coffee and a microwave. Lots of places to...

NO amenities per say. Very old shower/bathroom. No wifi which is NOT a complaint !!! but there is no cell signal in that area so a bit difficult to stay in touch! Prices are very high ($150/$170 a night in the summer??? - a joke) for the offering. Strictly based on the fact that its a great location. The rest...
