Just spent two nights at this hotel and what an amazing Holiday Inn Express this one is!
We had a family room for my son and his family and a connecting twin for myself and husband, it was perfect.
The staff are an absolute credit to this hotel, every single one were so helpful and always seemed to be smiling.
Special mention to Dave for organising the adjoining rooms for us.
Breakfast was really good and plentiful.
Hotel was spotlessly clean, would definitely stay here again.
Keep up the good work you guys 👍

As well as its convenient location, the great strength of this hotel is the staff who are all well trained, friendly, helpful and efficient. As first time visitors we were slightly worried as to how close the hotel was to the motorway but good triple glazing reduced noise completely and we slept well every night.
Our bedroom and all public areas were very clean. The buffet breakfast was basic but of good quality with enough choices to keep us happy. The bacon butties were particularly good! Covid-19 procedures were in place and being followed by staff and guests. For the price we paid and the extremely flexible cancellation terms we thought this hotel offered incredible value for money and we look forward to staying there again at a later date.

The pros are excellent staff, good value (for our three night stay), very convenient location and a basic (grab and go in these strange times) free breakfast. Even the proximity of the M5 was no issue with clearly excellent sound proofing.

The cons - shares a site with McDonalds and Harvester, and sadly the appalling behaviour and selfishness of the former’s clientele does not make you comfortable parking and leaving your car. And with just six disabled parking bays, of which 50% are constantly blocked by hotel guests and others who do not have a Blue Badge or a need for accessible parking, life for a wheelchair user and carer is not great. Not the staff!s fault, but management need to enforce the parking policies and not discriminate against those who need extra help.

Rooms and public areas are standard HIE, and absolutely fine. You know what you are getting, and it delivers. No complains there, and would return again, but to give it top marks the disabled parking needs addressing, and McDonalds need to clear and patrol the area to minimise the anti social behaviour of their patrons.

Dear Guest, Thank you for your review. I'm happy to see that you found our location convenient and enjoyed the local eateries on our shared parking area. We will certainly look into the situation with our disabled parking and hope that we can come up with a system to allow our guests that need the spaces a priority. Hope to see you again. Kind regards,

Location was great as we visited safari park. Hotel right next to Harvester and McDonald's. Easy to get to and plenty of parking on site.

The room was dusty and the sofa bed was springy and uncomfortable. Stayed for 2 nights. On the 1st night I felt itchy when lying on the bed. Thought I may just be paranoid because hubby and kids seemed ok. Woke up after 2nd night and all 4 of us felt itchy and dirty. As we gathered our things together we noticed all the dust under the bed, behind the tv, behind the headboard etc. Considering the current climate, you would expect them to go above and beyond with cleanliness. Mentioned it to the lady on reception as we checked out and she said we could have moved rooms because they have different cleaners on different floors so we may not have had the same experience in another room. Surely the same standards would apply across all floors? When I mentioned the springy sofa bed to the other lady on reception the night before, she said all the sofa beds are the same and all the interconnecting rooms are fully booked so we decided to stay put. Also, it's good if you have dogs but it does make you wonder how they clean the mattresses after pets have been sleeping in the rooms.

After staying at the Holiday Inn Express Droitwich for many years, we accumulated many thousands of IHG points as regular stays. Around 50 odd thousand point in fact. Over the last 12 months we have not been able to stay at this place or any other in fact. Ill health and a house move prevented us doing so. These points can be redeemed as a free stay at said HOTELS. So many points at a time. However this week we needed a hotel room to stay over.I made contact with IHG HOTELS to book a one night stay, only to be told that my account did not offer any points at all........my account was zero. I could not believe this and rang the IHG office only to be told that any point would be lost if we he'd not made any bookings in the last 12 months. So fellow travellers if you use IHG HOTELS make sure you dont get caught out like we have. We have lost any chance of getting a complimentary nights stay after losing our points. We are totally gutted and angry this has happened and obviously we will not be using Holiday Inn Express any time soon .

Dear Guest, Thank you for leaving us a review about your stay with us. I'm sorry that you feel disappointed with the IHG's Rewards club but happy that you gave them a call to learn all about the club benefits and how points can be used . We have many regular travellers who take advantage of their points and use the points for free stays etc. As a member you will still be rewarded with discounted rates for future stays. We hope to see you again soon. Kind regards Natalie - Team Leader

I have previously stated at this hotel and praised it but under Covid 19, this is now how I feel.
When I attended breakfast this morning I witnessed what I can only describe as chaos. I appreciate these are difficult times under Covid 19 restrictions but to see no real organisation at breakfast was annoying and frustrating.

The servery area is fairly small but there was no signage indicating a maximum number of customers allowed at the breakfast bar.

I patiently waited whilst two customers already in the servery area gathered their breakfast items, because I personally made a dynamic risk assessment that there should not be anymore than two people at the counter at any one time. There was no obvious one way system, clear signage or barriers in place to herd people in a uniformed way and customers were entering the servery from the restaurant area, rather than forming an orderly queue; at one point 5 people were in this cramped area.

People were not socially distancing. I eventually got my turn but was suddenly surrounded by 4 other people putting not only me but other people at risk. I left immediately for my own safety.

I spoke to the duty manager as I felt that this needed to be organised much better with good signage and barriers to make it a one way system and a maximum of 2 people or one family at the servery at any one time. But unfortunately he did not appear to be that interested.
I will not be using this hotel under Covid 19 again.

A comfortable room, enough Power points (4), they are in some strange places.
The bathroom does make the best use of space and the shower is hot and plenty of water.
The bed is very comfortable in a large room.
Breakfast is OK, but could do with more vegetarian options.

Stayed here on our way down to London. Greeted with a smile at the reception and quickly and efficiently checked in. Lobby area, lift, corridoors all very clean and tidy.

Good sized, clean room with all the usual stuff like hair drier etc. and also very clean.

Had a meal next door at the Harvester and it was pretty good.

Now, my partner and I are not relatively big people, and we'd booked a double room so expected at least a double bed. Not really sure if it was a double bed in our room but definitely felt smaller when we went to bed and to be honest, didn't sleep that well. It was too late to bother enquiring about it but will check before booking next time. We know that most competitor hotel chains are now putting king size beds in their rooms so come on Holiday Inn, you can really do better.

Things got slightly worse when we went down for breakfast. It seems Holiday Inn automatically includes breakfast in their rates these days rather than offering it as an option, which is fine but the quality of ingreadients obviously don't matter to them. Bacon was hard and tasteless, sausage had a bone as well as a massive chunk of grissle, so just left it on my plate. And no beans despite being told twice they were getting some.

However, can't fault any of the staff as they were all very polite and pleasant.

Spent 1 night to break a long driving journey.
Location is easy as it is directly off of the motorway slip road.
Covid 19 safety is well organised.
I was given a choice of floor for my room which was nice - chose the top floor which was very quiet and peaceful.
Room was well prepared and provided everything needed for my stay. Bed very comfortable. Good wifi reception.
Breakfast was 'grab and go' because of Covid and I was very impressed with the selection and the efficiency. For those who want something outside of the hotel, there is a McDonald's a few minutes walk from the hotel.
Will definitely use this again and would recommend.

Where do I start?.. The children’s beds weren’t made up on arrival, there was confetti on bed, the air conditioning unit was leaking next to the bed and making a lot of noise. Called someone out on several occasions up until the early hours as the problem persisted. The desk lamp was showing bare wires (see picture) and looked like it had been glued. I thought that regular cleaning was supposed to take place in light of Covid 19 but some of the tables in the bar area still had ring marks from the previous peoples drinks showing that regular cleaning obviously wasn’t being done. During our 2 night stay I didn’t witness ANY cleaning being done in the public areas. I was totally disappointed and will not stay in this brand of hotel again.

Dear paulbP8396UR, Thank you for your comments regarding your stay with us here at Droitwich earlier this month and please accept my apologies your stay was less that satisfactory. We have unfortunately encountered some issues with our air con over the last few weeks although I am pleased to say these have now been fixed, I appreciate your first impression of the room was poor due to the confetti you found on the bed and I would agree this is wholly unacceptable, I have already relayed this to the housekeeping and will be working directly with the head housekeeper to ensure this doesn't happen again. As a team we are completing cleaning routines hourly currently although I take your comments on board in relation to the breakfast area in particular and will review this. I do hope you will give us the opportunity to show you in the future how we can do things better.
