The rooms were very nice, the bathrooms were recently updated. I would mention the bathrooms and elevator decor is very disappointing - people come to the grand for iconic style, not chevron or modern bath lighting and wall paper. Staff was very friendly. The Grand dining options were nice, the kids menu is far too basic - please offer well balanced meals.

When you splurge and spend 4,500.00 per night for one of the best rooms the Grand has to offer you would think your bathroom would have drinking glasses or a robe. You would expect the minibar stocked. You would expect that you would have the same amenities that you had the last time you rented this room, especially since they've raised the price by thousands of dollars per night. The cupula suites are the Grand's best offering. The last time we came there were beautiful fresh flowers when we arrived, 2lbs of fudge, a full bar with top drawer liquor, robes in the closet, drinking glasses in the bathroom, and bottled water. When we complained they stocked the bar. We complained the next day and we were given bottled water, fudge, and a small vase of flowers. We never did get drinking glasses for the bathroom or a robe or turn down. Don't blame Covid because there were no social distancing or mask requirements. It's just really sad. We both feel taken advantage of and won't return. #Imissthemussers

Great property. Amazing pool for kids! Limited kids menu. Nighttime dress requirement is a little much for a relaxed vacation with young kids but it is what it is. Everyone is very friendly and accommodating. Rooms are spacious and always clean! Will stay again.

The hotel is a beautiful place. Great grounds and decor. Employees are friendly and professional. Sadie's ice cream is very good. Food choices are another story. We use the website for information. The Gatehouse had an interesting menu. When we inquired with the concierge about reservations. We were informed that they no longer serve food. So we asked about other options for lunch. We were told that the Woods was open for lunch, even though the website indicated they were not open until evening. The menu looked good. When we arrived at the restaurant, we found that only outdoor seating was available. The food menu was a very limited bar menu. So we ordered sliders, which were served burnt. We were extremely disappointed. We had one dinner at the Jockey Club. Food was ok. Service was slow and staff seemed preoccupied by other things. We waited 15 minutes for our check. The best meals we had on the island was downtown and room service for breakfast. During normal hours, the main areas are very busy and not at all relaxing. All in all we would not again overpay for inconsistant and disappointing food options and crowds like a Disney theme park. Our room was ok with a nice view of the lake.
