"We arrived early and thankfully they were able to let us check in at 1pm instead of 4pm. The only issue we had is that the cleaning service needs to be more thorough. The bigger room had a small table with a drawer where the tv sat and there was trash in the drawer from previous guests. Also, our bathroom wasn't most clean intentionally. We informed front desk that the bathroom hadn't been cleaned 100% and they quickly got someone over to clean it very well. As a suggestion to them, a channel list would have been great. One day because of rain we spent more time in our cabin. The 6yr old kept flipping to find channels they had which some they didn't have. Another suggestion to help improve is to give thier older cabins some TLC. There was chipped paint on some of the cabins, not all decks had tables and chairs, and there was alot of webs on the outside. Those tiny improvements would make all the difference."

This stay is quite and clean but very misleading. They advertise free breakfast and access to several water parks and pools, both of these not being true. The “free breakfast” is actually a coupon to a breakfast buffet that is subpar down the street for a buy one get one free buffet, which cost $15.99 per person. You also have access to one pool at the hotel next door that is dingy and quite gross with random men just watching people swim. If you are coming just to sleep it’ll work out but don’t expect much more then that!

The cabins were a great place to stay with a family. The cabins were a very short walk to 1 of the ferries to Mackinac island which made it very nice since you didn't need to worry about parking at the ferry parking lot and have discounted fares to the ferry. The cabins are nice and fairly modern. The front patio is nice to relax.

We thought we were getting a cabin & ended up getting a hotel room in a dilapidated 1970 - 1980 hotel room that was rather disgusting. We also weren't able to connect to the "Free WiFi" as it was to far in the back of the facility.

The room was dirty, there was mold on the ceiling & also on the bottom of the baseboards. There was rust & mold in the tub. There was a coffee pot but there was only one packet of coffee, decaf @ that, with it. The shower was so low it was to low for me @ 5'3.5" & my husband is 6'1".

You could see under our door so we were afraid to put anything on the floor for fear of bugs not to mention the carpet was disgusting. The light switch, as you walked in, didn't work so with the curtains closed it was VERY dark & you had to feel around the room for a light.

The room was VERY damp smelling, all of our clothes had to be washed & aired out once we were home The sheet didn't fit the mattress. There was about 2 feet of the mattress that was bare. I understand there are no more fitted sheets but @ least make sure the flat sheet you use is actually for that size of bed. There weren't any hand towels or wash cloths.

It was VERY expensive for the quality that we received. Wouldn't recommend anyone staying @ that place. We did mention it & were told that they were filled up so nothing else was available & as far as the cleaning we needed to contact the housekeeping.

We do have pictures of all of this stuff too.

We booked online and when we arrived it was not the cabin in the picture that you seen online. So we went to the desk and was told we had to pay an additional $165 in order to stay in the cabin that was shown online that we had thought we had booked to begin with. The cabin (334) wasn't as clean as should be expected it had 2 water bottles that were in both of the upper front windows that you seen when in the loft bedroom that were used. The loft bedroom had dead ants on the floor along the wood work. I found a baby pacifier next to the front of my bed which was gross. No breakfast was offered as is stated in the booking. The front desk help in the morning and also in the evening are not that helpful. Most places when you are checking in will tell you information that is helpful during your stay. Like having the wifi information written down for you along with your room number or that if you want to take your family to the waterpark that is included with your stay that before you go there you need to first go to the front desk and they will give you a paper to fill out to receive your waist bans. They say if you book the ferry you get a discount. I didn't notice a difference in price. I would not stay here again.

We booked 2 rooms. Upon arrival we were greeted by a pleasant front desk clerk who told us our cabin would be ready in about an hour. We explored the town a bit, went back and picked up our keys stowed our suitcases in the cabin (it had connecting rooms) and went back out. We didn’t rerun to the cabin until almost 11pm and when we went to shower found we had no soap or shampoo in either side. A quick rinse off only as there was absolutely no outdoor lighting anywhere around the cabins and we were pretty far back from the office. The next morning as we were preparing to head for the island for the day my husband walked down and brought back toiletries from the office. He then went next door to get ice as there wasn’t any ice available at the cabins ( he was told by the desk clerk that was where he had to get the ice).
We retuned on the last boat from the island, showered headed into the village for dinner then back to the cabin. Around midnight the 2 that were the in one side knocked on the connecting door to tell us they were being relocated to another unit because BOTH of the beds were full of ants. The ants crawling on them had awakened them. They had to gather up all their stuff, vigorously shaking everything to make sure they were not bringing the ants with them. Their new unit was horrible. The televisions didn’t work, doorknobs were loose on the doors and ready to fall off, the blind in the bathroom couldn’t be closed giving an unimpeded view of anyone doing anything in the bathroom to the cabins directly behind their unit. They had to use their 1 bath towel to try to cover as much of the window as possible. When we were checking out and was asked how we enjoyed our stay I related everything that had happened to which I received the reply “why didn’t you report it to the office?” Hello! We did! How else would we have gotten the toiletries, found where to get the ice or better still gotten keys to another unit? I asked if I could speak to the manager. I was told he would be in at 11. I called back at 11:30 - he wasn’t there. I called again at 2:00. After a 10 minutes hold, he’s not here. Called back at 3:30 - nope still not there. Asked if I could leave my name and number, clerk didn’t write it down as when I asked him to read my number back he couldn’t and then told me we had a bad connection. Gave it to him again. I doubt I will EVER hear from the elusive manager. I know I will NEVER stay here again and in good conscience would not recommend it to anyone either.

The staff was great, we just wish we would have known we needed to request room service in order to have our room cleaned daily during our stay. We were missing the door sign along with any TV listings/book showing a map of the property that would have normally been in the room. My guess is things have changed due to COVID? Other than these few issues we had a wonderful time. When staying here we were given 10% discounts at various properties and there was an option to use three different inside pools and one was the water park.

I am not one to write a negative review, but this I cannot in good conscience let slide. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

We stayed here in the "chalet" which is a old two story hotel hidden in the back. Our room was on the end, #121.

This room smelled like urine so bad we opened the window and let the a/c unit run. The window was dirty with cobwebs and a mix of live and dead bugs. We came back in after about an hour and it was breathable. Though all night long we were kept awake by the smell of urine between the beds or coming from the beds themselves, we couldn't be sure. Though we both agree, the beds were very comfortable.

In the morning we learned there were no towels, no washrags, but two hand towels and a bathmat. Travel size soaps and hair products were provided. In fact, there was even a used bar of soap from a previous traveler left for us in the shower. The bathroom lights were dangerous, flip the switch they come on and then buzz and go out. Flip the switch off and on again and they work. Not comforting thinking about the rest of the electrical work. The sink drained but very slowly, have no idea about the jetted tub of course.

On the plus side, whoever did the interior knotty pine work did a fabulous job. The walls are really nice and it was decorated quite cute. The lanterns from the ceilings were odd but added to the decorative charm. There was a tv we didn't use and an interesting metal thing that spun attached to the shared nightstand.

We should have had an idea when we pulled up to our room. There were discarded soda bottles, food packaging, a used clear rubber glove scattered on the ground, several roofing nails scattered on the porch floor, and pieces of asphalt roofing material on the porch. To top it off, there was a beaten path that went beside our room to the back of the building that looked similar to a deer path littered with discarded beverages and food waste. There is a chain link fence separating the hotel from a parking lot that we watched a person (worker?) stomp on the part of the fence that is knocked down to get to the parking lot. I wish I'd have taken more photos but the entrance to our room is in the attached pics to give you an idea.

We slept in our clothes and did not shower the next morning. It was that disturbing.

The cabins out front look incredible, but the dinky hotel in the back the "chalet" or "lodge" is NOT where you want to stay. Avoid this place. For $110 a night we are very disappointed.

Filthy, old, musty, NO internet, remotes didn't work, broken lamp shade, window sills covered in dirt and bugs, door did not closed tightly and bugs were coming in, the pool was black and dirty, did not have a fitted sheet on the bed, hot tub was green, small room, air conditioner was RIGHT next to the bed, blowing on our heads all night. They offered a "special rate" on the ferry that was $4.00 more than at the ferry dock. DO NOT be fooled by their fake pictures on their website. This place is RUN DOWN. Staff was decent, but made lots of excuses. We asked for a first floor room, but ended up in a second floor room becasue the room was not ready at 4:30 p.m. For $280 per night, I would rather sleep in my car.

Wonderful place to stay. Near the ferries, clean, fun water park, can walk to the city. Staff was pleasant and helpful. Cabins had everything we needed was very quiet yet close to everything. Great for a family vacation.

The senior cabins are older, maybe 1960's (but remodeled) and the premium cabins are new about ten years ago. I have stayed only in the premium and there quite adorable, well done cabins.

Chalets are small and and the Cabins are big and spacious make sure you are getting what you want call them and be specific that you want a "Cabin" not a "Chalet"
