We had a very enjoyable stay at the Dempsey Manor. Jan and Jim were both very informative and were happy to share the history of the manor. The furnishings are awesome, especially if you like a variety of pieces from the period that the home was built. Jim did a fantastic job of putting things together. The arboretum is a very nice spot to sit and enjoy chatting, reading or sipping a glass of wine. The suite was especially great for a group meeting. We highly recommend staying here next time you are in the area.
Beautifully taken care of and stuffed to the gills with incredibly strange and wonderful items unlike anything you’ll ever see, The Dempsey is the place to stay in Manistee. Our accommodations were superb, the staff kind, and Clint’s breakfasts were as elegant as they are delicious. My girlfriend Emma and I would wholeheartedly recommend anyone make the trip and enjoy the history, lovely service, and unique stay that the Dempsey Manor gave us.
My husband and I stayed at Dempsey Manor in October on a whim. I had found it by chance and was able to book within days of our travel. What a pleasant surprise! The owners were so attentive and gracious, the manor was extremely clean and inviting, the decor was authentic and fascinating, the food was delicious! They were so sensitive to our food restrictions and prepared special items to accommodate us. We felt extremely comfortable in the midst of the pandemic. There was enough space for dining so that we were seated 6 feat apart while we ate, and in a room with only one other couple. Masks were worn in common areas. The location was perfect and the concierge services impeccable. We hope to visit there again in the future.
The best B&B experience anywhere. Come for the luxury Victorian accommodations and stay for the delicious three course breakfast and tour of the museum quality collection by your knowledgeable host. We came as two couples and had the Dempsey Suite and the Teal room. Both were well appointed and comfortable.
We went to Manistee to visit my son in the Coast Guard for a long weekend. My wife and I loved the experience of staying there. Even in the COVID environment, they did a fine job at all the necessities/restrictions. I couldn't imagine a more satisfying breakfast, and it was different in each of the (3) mornings we had. At an additional charge, they were able to accommodate my son to join us for breakfast. He claimed breakfast was the 'Best he'd ever had."
