This was one of the worst hotels I have ever stayed at or should I say booked, we literately walked in and walked out the place was disgusting, if you plan on staying there take some raid and a fly swatter with you and maybe some air freshener and mold killer. The sheets and pillows were stained, mass amounts of insects on the walls and bed, cobwebs, holes in the wall, creepy people just hanging out around the rooms including a guy just sitting in his truck watching people. Beware this place needs to be condemned, I'm just grateful I got my money back would never, ever book again
Unless you like staying in filthy rooms stay away from this place. Cupboards were gross, bathroom had pubes/hair/dirt in the bathroom and tub, carpet was nasty, people outside talking about 8 balls and playing hood music at all hours of the night and a tennat was talking about how they had mold in their room so they had to switch. Front desk wasn’t the greatest, someone had called when we were in there and she was nothing but rude and snotty. Debating calling the health department as that stay was not worth the money we had spent.
I travel extensively and I have never stayed at a place that was disgustingly FILTHY and SMELLY. Front desk was very nice, but don’t ever stay here! I only stayed one night as I was passing through on my way to Florida. Carpet was very very dirty, air condition unit was filthy. Wallpaper was falling off the walls. Seal around toilet was disgusting. I wore my socks so I didn’t let me feet touch the carpet. I used a whole can of room deodorant to get the musty smell out of the room. AWFUL!
My husband and I had reservations to stay two nights, Friday and Saturday, September 28 and 29, at America's Best Value Inn located at 1885 Welcome Way in Monroe, Michigan. I had made the reservations a few nights earlier directly with the motel. Upon arriving at the front desk to check in, the desk clerk was speaking with a man, presumably employed with the motel, about a situation in one of the rooms, where something was “still wet” and not ready for occupancy. Once the customer ahead left, I identified myself as having reservations, at which time the clerk told me that it was my room they had been speaking about. I was told that I could not check into it and that it was the only room available. I was told that the previous occupant had been there for “a while” and they were doing a “deep clean” on it; therefore, it would not be ready anytime soon. I responded that my husband and I had an appointment with some people who were coming by and I needed a room. She repeated that the motel was booked, but could give me the jacuzzi room. I removed my ID to begin the check-in process. At that time the desk clerk presented me with a form to sign, stating that once I checked in I could not receive a refund for the room. This aroused my suspicion, as we travel on business about 200 nights per year and have done so for 35 years and have NEVER been asked to sign such a thing! When I inquired why I was being asked to sign this form, she said that too many people check in, stay a short time and then want a refund. I was getting more concerned about staying there by the minute. So, I asked to see the room. I was given the key to room 114, opened up the door to find a large room with a king size bed and a jacuzzi at the far end. There were no chairs or table to work at in the room. At the entrance to the bathroom, the light switch plate was hanging by one screw. The general appearance of the room was dirty and run down. I ended up checking into a much more expensive hotel, as it was the only thing available close by. Attempts to contact the corporate office by telephone for at least a week, were a failure. The letter I sent in December, to the address listed on their own website, came back. You could never be desperate enough to stay at this place!…
Whenever we travel to Florida for the winter or when we head back home to Ontario, we take I-75. Whatever state we decide to stay in for the night, we will always first stop to pick up the red “Travel Coupons” Guide and the green “Hotel Coupons” Guide at the state’s Welcome Center. So, if on the way home, we decide to stay in the area of Monroe Michigan, we will pick up the Michigan coupon guides at the Michigan welcome centre just inside the Michigan state line. You will likely save at least $10 or more by doing so. In this case we got a coupon for Americas Best Value Inn & Suites that came to $39.00 including taxes for one night. That is a significant savings over the regular rate and much cheaper than the other area hotels. However, the place is an absolute dive. But the room was big, there were two queen-size comfortable beds, there was a good size bar fridge, a microwave, iron and coffee maker. Just don’t take off your shoes. But if you’re looking to save money with a cheap place and don’t care about all the fanciness, then this motel will do the trick.…
