We made a reservation with Sherif and arrived at night, the had no idea whatsoever about the reservation and they were extremely unfriendly. They only had 1 room available so i stayed the night at another place. My friends that stayed there we harrased by the crew. They were girls and one of the crew tried to open the room while they were sleeping. I dont recommend any families or women travelling there, its completely unsafe.

We always take our clients for lunch at SOBEK LODGE in Tunis Village (FAYOUM) as it offers delicious Duck, Chicken, and Pigeon dishes served with salads, rice and Molokheya. Ayman who is in charge there orchestrates the lunch arrangements in a very professional manner making certain the many many varieties ordered are precisely served. Don't miss lunch there.

The guy who is running this place (Sherif) is a sexual harasser! He harassed me during a vacation that I spent there with my partner. He uses the fact that he is having this beautiful place, that people are in holiday mood and not expecting any harm and then approaches women in a very inappropriate manner, incl. in a physical way. Please watch out, women!!

We stayed here last weekend to escape Cairo and loved the place. We had a room in the new building which was comfortable, nicely decorated and pretty much brand new. We ate all our meals in the lodge, the food is basic but very tasty with good ingredients (the duck, indeed, is delicious). I'd say you come here for the vibe, it's very relaxed and easy-going. The pool area is super cute and with a nice view over the oasis and lake. There's a small pottery school attached to the lodge. We made our own pottery under the guidance of Ibrahim who runs the place, and for me this was the highlight of the weekend, don't miss it! He'll explain the right technique to you and then help you to make sure your creation looks amazing! In reference to previous reviews: yes there is a small irrigation stream running through the grounds of the lodge. This has nothing to do with sewage however as some people were writing, it's a nice and rustic water stream to irrigate the land below the lodge. We checked out paying 2,700LE for 2 nights in an ensuite double room incl breakfast, dinner twice, a midnight meal as well and then juices and water at the pool - super reasonable and really good value for money. Great place for a couple of days in Fayoum!
