We stayed for 2-nights in Siwi, a small dusty village that is well worth exploring! The hotel is 10-minutes from the town centre where you'll find several restaurants, coffee & shisha shops, fruit stands and small grocers. We were served traditional cold hibiscus drinks while we waited to check in. Our 2nd floor room was nicely furnished with 2-single beds, a TV and a large balcony overlooking the well-groomed gardens. The air-conditioning unit was whisper silent. There are several shaded hammocks in the garden where you can enjoy the sunset (although they're shaded, we found the sun too hot until closer to sun down). The toilet leaked which was an only minor inconvenience (it was only a small amount of water pooling so I just left a towel on the floor to sop it up) – we let the front desk know but it didn’t get fixed. After 2-weeks in Egypt I’ve accepted any hotel plumbing problems aren't likely to be fixed. Otherwise, service was very good. Until sometime after January 2011, the hotel was called "Mubarak Hotel". The dining room is very fancy! We found that breakfast (included) was slow to be served but once it arrived from the kitchen it was good: fresh pita, smooth feta cheese with cucumber & tomato, jam, honey, tea and instant coffee. There are good restaurants in town that are worth trying. Recommend renting a bike and visiting the town sites - people in Siwi are friendly and very welcoming
