By UK standards this is not a quality hotel but it is nicely presented from the outside. The staff were friendly and helpful and could not fault them in any way. The room itself was basic but it did have a fridge. The bathroom was simple. No toiletries provided. The food was for me as a Westerner extremely poor. Absolutely no variety whatsoever and catering only for the Egyptian palate. Breakfast was monotonous and bland. The only thing I could eat was the omelette which they only made with one egg!!! You can imagine it wasn’t filling. The evening meal was no better and it was the same chicken and beef every night. For the most part totally inedible. The chef in the kitchen clearly has no imagination. Having said that the Egyptians there ate everything that was put in front of them. For me, I couldn’t face it and despite having paid for it often had to eat out. I did not wish to drink the tap water and they only offered water in a jug or cordial/squash made with their water. They only had tea or coffee in the morning so it meant I only had one drink a day in the hotel and had to drink outside. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel to any western person because they had no concept of how to look after or cater for the western palate and before you think it I absolutely love to try Foreign cuisine. Unfortunately the food was just so bad that it put me right off. But for the appalling food I could have given this hotel three or 4 stars. I’m sorry if this review seems harsh but I am speaking my mind
