Fort Onguma Designed for comfort This lodge, within its own game reserve and adjoining Etosha National Park, has a unique design and offers comfort in style. Of course, trying to fit Moroccan architecture into a Namibian landscape does stretch the limits! The Bush Suites are spacious, ample, well designed with all modern amenities and overlook the large watering hole where...

My husband and I spent 1 night here during our honeymoon. The rooms have it all - massive bed, kettle and fresh press, HUGE bathroom, desk, and dressing area. The room also has an outside deck area with another shower where you get a beautiful view of the area and a small waterhole. Upon entering the hotel you are greated...

The guides are very good and we had great safaris. The food was very good, always two choices at every meal. They serve a lot of game...

Our family spent two nights here and loved it! The rooms have everything--huge bathroom, reading chair, desk, lots of storage, comfortable beds, and a decanter of sherry! The setting is lovely and the proximity to Etosha is perfect. We had wonderful service from the staff, who were great with our 13 year old son. We all enjoyed the food, which...

We only spent three days at Onguma The Fort. This is my greatest regret when thinking back on my holiday in Namibia. This is a truly luxurious and unique Namibian experience. There are a limit number of rooms which ensures privacy and the ultimate romantic getaway. I cannot emphasise this enough. You are treated and pampered from the second you...

Onguma the Fort is a must if travelling to Etosha. We crossed Etosha from East to West and stayed here for 3 nights, and I could have stayed another 3. The moroccan style and colour mixes with the African tones to perfection . The service was excellent as was the food and all of our game walks and drives were interesting...

Not really right for wildest Africa but this place really has the WOW factor. One of our travelling companions burst into tears when she saw how beautiful her accommodation suite was. Food was excellent and the service was top notch. One nice thing appreciated by modern travellers was the free speedy wifi in our rooms. This is something many other...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
This Fort is unlike any other, the only one of its kind in Namibia, built in exactly the right spot to give our guests probably one of the best sunset views in the whole of Namibia. Overlooking the beautiful scarceness of the Etosha Pans, decorated only with its wild animals and hundreds of Camel Thorn trees that dot the landscape. Accommodation consists of twelve Bush Suites with fire places for the winter months and air coolers for the summer months. Each suite has an indoor and outdoor shower. The one and only Fort Suite is situated inside the Main Tower of the main complex. It has a large beautifully designed bedroom that leads into a lounge area and out onto a private viewing deck. ... more   less
