Travelling as a woman on my own can be daunting at times. Being a guest at Flycatcher Castle smoothed away any possible discomfort in this regard. Manie is a gracious host, respected my privacy and was flexible to accommodate my needs. I stayed for 3 nights and on the last night felt the need to have dinner on my own....

We stayed at Flycatcher Castle for 4 nights as part of our motorbike road trip. We were greeted by Castle owner, keeper and chef Manie. The castle has a magnificent view of this beautiful part of South Africa with immaculately kept gardens and bird feeders to attract even more of the abundant bird life in the area. Food was excellent,...

My self and my fiancé stayed for 2 nights at flycatcher castle, Manie, the host pulled every stop to make us and the other guests feel welcome and at home. The gourmet food prepared by Manie himself was an experience on its own. We have never experienced such personal service in any other hotel in South Africa or overseas. We...

Perfectly positioned to explore the panorama route from. What stood out was the evenings spent in the beautiful garden, chatting with newly made friends over a glass of wine, watching the stars late into the night, and the meals - manie was so thoughtful in his execution of perfect 4 course dinners, adapted to my vegetarian diet- some of the...

Had a lot of fun with friends from the UK at Flycatcher Castle. It overwhelms at first but we in joyed the quirkiness of the place. You keep seeing new things and noticing different parts of the castle. The food was a work of art and delicious. I think the owner can read his guests well as he let us...

Flycatcher Castle is the work of artistic genius. To stay at Flycatcher is to experience that genius. I marvelled in amazement that sleepy, beautiful, conservative, Graskop has found itself containing such an artist in residence. I hope the locals accept and celebrates his contribution to their town. Although I'm sure Flycatcher, and owner Manie, will divide opinions quite strongly. Some...

Flycatcher Castle was everything we expected it to be. We felt and were treated like royalty. From the spacious Mozart room we had a beautiful view over the mountains and the plantations. The food was excellent. We can not wait to visit Flycatcher castle again!

My fiancé, fur-babies and I stayed at Flycatcher Castle for 3 nights and 4 days. Our stay could not have been more perfect. The time leading up to our stay I researched everything about the castle. Every so often leading up to our stay we would look at pictures on the website and Internet, only increasing our anticipation and excitement....

Being vegan and gluten free we generally experience difficulty eating while travelling across the globe, however our expectations were completely blown away by the culinary skill, amazing versatility and artistic care taken with the fantastic vegan and gluten free food we received. The wonderful host and brilliant chef, having only learned about veganism 2 days before we arrived, was amazingly accommodating...

As soon as we got there we where welcomed with Wine and he took us through to the rooms which where absolutely beautiful exactly how the...
