As mentioned in a previous post this place shows great promise but just doesn't deliver. Lack of hot water was a real issue, restaurant dinner and breakfast were below average, staff were friendly but needed training - as mentioned, a management issue not the staffs fault. Perhaps Lumbini does not have overall good accommodation and this is one of the... More

This is a great hotel with spacious rooms and nice food. The water lily pond with lovely ducks at the back of the buildings is truly a nice surprise. Restaurant staff are friendly and professional. The decor of the rooms is warm and calming. We stayed for 4 nights and enjoyed every moment.

A bizarre place really. The rooms have promise and the grounds are pleasant but the operation is run poorly. No hot water in the shower, the food is terrible, house keeping just walked in to the room without knocking, the lobby bathrooms are a wreck, for some strange reason you can only use the wifi in the reception and the... After much procrastination I finally organised a visit to Lumbini and I am so glad that I decided to stay at Buddha Maya Garden Hotel. The room was comfortable with everything working well including lots of solar hot water, and a comfortable bed. I loved sitting out on the verandah/balcony as it was cool enough to do so most of... Although the rooms were large and lovely with air con and fan with nice bathroom there were little touches that didn't make me want to give 4 or 5 out 5. For a large chain of hotel the service wasn't that great. Wifi was only available by reception hence it was crowded and noisy at times. Breakfast was basic buffet... More

I very much enjoyed my short stay. All meals (breakfast, lunch, and dinner) were delicious. Rooms were spacious and neat. Reception staff were especially helpful in numerous ways. They were knowledgeable too. Plan on spending some time to enjoy the hotel grounds. A great place for solitude.

The front desk did not have a record of my reservation and immediately put me on a defensive (I had booked directly with the hotel). They did not have the room type requested, which I was only told when I arrived. The front desk lady was rude and kept interrupting me when I tried to explain the room I wanted... More

the birthplace of Lord Buddha so an important pilgrimage site. After a series of basic hotels on the Buddha circuit (birthplace, enlightenment, last sermon, death), this was a find, smart, very clean, lovely gardens, peaceful ambience, well appointed rooms with the best linen on this trip Very pleasant dining facilities and charming staff
