Prashand was a very helpful host and the location is great. The room is simple and clean. The garden is green and attractive and safe for children. Breakfasts were wonderful! There are lots of good cafes/bars in the vicinity and fronting onto the beach, easy walking distance. Recommend Nina's in particular, friendly service - the grilled fresh fish in the evening was sensational. Prashand is a kind and thoughtful guy who is environmentally aware - has a clean filtered water on tap, so you don't need to use plastic bottles - brilliant. He also looks after a couple of rescued cats and dogs too - which are lovely to have around. Tuk tuk trips were easily organised as well as our onward travel. Prashand speaks excellent english too.

We are travelling around Sri Lanka for a month and were lucky enough to have two nights at Alass Ga rooms, but could have easily had longer. The guest house is ideally situated, 5 minutes from the fabulous beach and right in the centre for numerous restaurants. Do not fear any noise though, it’s amazingly quiet. Our room, at the back of the house was clean and comfortable with plenty of water for the shower. Breakfast was excellent, cooked when you turned up. Water filter meant no need to buy bottled and there was a fridge to keep it cold. We organised a city tuk tuk tour via the guest house, 3500LKR for around 4 hours, well worth doing. Lots of other tours or trips are available. Nothing was too much trouble, felt completely comfortable and at home. Thank you for a really great stay.

We stayed 3 nights at Alass Ga. We strongly recommend this accommodation. The place is quiet and very clean. Prashan, the host is the nicest guy we met in Sri Lanka, always ready to help or to have a beer. Cheers

We stayed at Alass Ga for 3 nights and it was great - we could not have asked for more. Our host, Prasanth, went out of his way to make us feel comfortable and we solved many of the world's problems over evening beers with him 😁 Highly recommended.

Super chill owner, always happy to help. Lots of food nearby and in the middle of the main beach and the town. As well as a beach in walking distance with a bar, and diving/whale watching boats. Clean room and upgraded us for free!

We bumped into this place after a not so good experience at a nearby guesthouse and it was the best thing that happened to us in Sri Lanka. We planned to stay for 2 nights but we stayed for 5 and we were really sad to leave today. The property is clean and beautiful with a comfortable room, garden and chill-out areas. You will feel at home immediately. Coffee, tea and drinking water are provided freely at all times and the homemade SriLankan breakfast is delicious and reasonably priced. Location is perfect - 5 minutes walk to the beach, very close to some really good places to eat and public transport. However the #1 special thing about this place is the owner Prashanth, who is a genuinely great guy and a really inspiring person. He was so kind to us and went out of his way to help us out in every way. Within an hour of being at this guest house we became good friends with him and we would trust this guy with anything. He has such a positive spirit, so much wisdom to share and he truly wants to make a difference in his community. He rescues stray animals from the streets that are weak or in danger and takes care of them fully. We had some very interesting conversations with him and we learned so much about Sri Lankan culture and people. We would recommend this place to anyone but also to solo female travelers because we have rarely met someone so respectful towards women, not just in Sri Lanka but anywhere. You will surely feel safe here. We also met his cousin and friends for some beers in the evening and just had a really fun time together! We will miss this place and the people we met here. If you don't know where to stay near Uppuvelli, just go ahead and book this place - you won't regret it.

Very lovely and kind personal. Nice restaurants and cafes in the same street. In the acommondation water, tea and coffee is for free. Only 5 minutes walk away from the beach. You can book many different kind of tours in the acommondation and also rent a scooter from there. It was definitely one of our best stays in Sri Lanka. When you go to Tricomalee then this is the place to stay!! Thanks for everything, Philipp + luisa

This is a super little guesthouse and the owner is a terrific chap with a super sense of humour. The breakfasts were varied, delicious and freshly made. The room is simple but clean. If you do stay there, bear in mind that the owner always waits up for the very last guests. So maybe don’t rock up at 3am. Also, bear in mind that the owner loves animals and has many of them. We adored this; he really does love his pets. (James, the cat, was our favourite by far!) But, if you’re not into animals or are allergic to animals, it’s probably not the right place for you. Like most places in Trinco, it can be a bit noisy at night.

The host, Prashanth, is a lovely fellow whom I trust with whole my heart. Helps wherever he can and always in for a chat. I forgot some of my clothes when we left for Nilaveli and he made sure it was in safe hands. Would recommend!
