We spent 4 nights here and loved it. Calm, quiet and relaxed rooms and gardens. Lovely beach front with loungers. Complementary large umbrellas were very useful. We didn't eat in the new restaurant but did drink there.

We didnt live at this lodge but we only tried food in this restaurant on the beach. I think that prices are not very cheap but I recommend the sea food soup which was very good and full of different sea meat!

Stayed in the villa room with the four poster bed and private balcony for my girlfriend's birthday. They decorated the room and it really felt special. The villa room facing the garden is lovely and the private veranda with comfy furniture has a real upmarket colonial feel to it. We also loved the cosy, warmly-lit lounge area at the rear...

Escaped the concrete beach 'resorts' to find a perfect relaxing stay in this welcoming guest house. Authentic, spacious rooms (nr. 4) and excellent food served right on the beach. Try the vegetable curry & rice!

We were excited to stay here after recommendations in lonely planet, rough guide, TripAdvisor and a personal recommendation from a friend 18 months ago. We had booked a room in the main house with air con. The room was run down, holes all over the mosquito net, flies everywhere and ants crawling all over one wall. The shower pressure was...

There are two different roomtypes. A few bigger and very nice rooms in the main building close to the reception. Another few rooms in a second building close to the other building (guess they are cheaper). We were three of us sharing the room and paid 7000 Rps. per night for the room. Including towels and AC. (Low season in...

I really liked the location of the place, with a direct access to the beach. I also loved the wooden cabanas with comfy mattresses and towels, where you can hide from the shade. The staff was pleasant as well. The bed was very comfortable. On the Cons side, I was a but disappointed by the bathroom; it was really nice...

Rooms vary ENORMOUSLY so view before committing. Those in the 'villa' will be infinitely superior to those in the lean-to added on part (which are nonetheless closer to the beach). I had the most budget room which initially I turned my nose up to due to - I kid you not - astro turf carpeting the floor (as quoted by...

Went for dinner following a recommendation and it was terrible. We had chop suey, one veggie and one chicken and not only was it very salty but the vegetarian dish came with a piece of chicken in it! Having told the waiter what had happened he stood there clearly not knowing what to do to start with and eventually -following...

The setting is good (by the beach and candle lit). No issues with the service too. The food however was disappointing. First you have to order your curry before 3.30pm because they are apparently "renowned"for their curry. The portions are good but the curry is watery and tasteless. Probably tailored for tourists (the chicken is chicken breast for example). Not...
