we have rented the lodge several times and we told owners there were issues and wanted a discount, but that didn't happen. on 2 different occasions the roof leaked from pouring rain, we put our foot through the floor at different areas, the walls are very wobbly... the list goes on and on. it is the only place in the...

The website made this place look fantastic. True, the view outside the restaurant was stunning, especially at sunset. But the rooms are straight out of 1950! Dumpey and depressing. We tried to give it a chance, but when the heat didn't kick on, and when the restaurant food looked like a lot of unhealthy and unimaginative fare, we asked for...

We spent a long weekend at the Buckhorn Resort!. It was a fantastic experience! The room was spacious and clean (although a bit dated) and very comfortable. The staff were courteous, efficient and extremely helpful. The setting on the lake shore was breathtaking. The restaurant provided a light continental breakfast each day, and the restaurant served delicious food. We would...

Stayed at the Buckhorn for a week and felt very comfortable. The service was great, if you had a question or problem all you had to do is call. Rooms cleaned and taken care of daily. Microwave and refrigerator, I brought along stuff to refrigerate so that was good. Enjoyed the experience! I would give them a FIVE star review...

My husband and I were traveling through the UP to sightsee. We chose 1 night at the Buckhorn. There was an issue with our reservation but they went above and beyond to make it right! The place was clean and the restaurant was great! Would stay again!

A beautiful night. We arrived at the Buckhorn about 7 only to find all the tables taken. We consulted with the owner who said it would be about 45 minutes for a table near the window. Disappointed we settled in at the bar which also has a view. Next thing we knew the owner came over and said that a...

We chose the Buckhorn Resort while on a family vacation to the UP. The room was comfortable but we especially loved the bar and restaurant. What great food and the bartender/owner was awesome! The Buckhorn Burger was to die for! We would recommend this place over and over! Go Packers!

Lovely setting above Hovey Lake, friendly service by owners, variety of food choices with fair prices. All that we have sampled has been good. Attached bar for those wishing beer with lunch or dinner. Have not stayed in the motel or lodge.
